- This is a test of the navigation system for our 24' autonomous boat prototype. We are creating a boat that will attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean in 2018. The final boat will be solar electric, and will be more robust, along with a self righting system. Average continuous speed of the boat is 4-5 knots depending on solar conditions. Progress of the journey can be followed at www.angusadventures.com

**** OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION***
__ MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION:
how do you manage the big rudder with the pixhawk ?????????
you are using pixhawk rover that uses a 5 volt servo but when it comes to a large scale boat, I do not
know how to make that connection
Look forward to see it in action! Will it be able to right itself if capsized in a big sea?
James Gibling yes really curious about the self righting system. since it's unmanned closed hull and doesn't really matter which end is up I imagine flexible solar panels on the top and bottom as a skin if you will, with the motors attached behind each pontoon a bit like a Thai weed whacker, self trimming by weighting the end of the prop arm, maybe part of prop shield/anti-cavitation plate. actually I don't know if a rudder is needed with twin electric motors as the speed of each motor could be adjusted to achieve course correction.
What happened to this boat? Did it make it?
что бы вы сделали, если бы лодка поднялась на киль
