I am following this reciipe and watching you at the same time step by step. I would also love your outfit to wear it while I ocok it feeling very South Africanxxxx
The best part is, a bowl looks nice and full..my ma fed 8 every night, for many years...thats quite a few mouths. Most only cook for half that many now?..
Very nice! I make long sauces so this should be perfect. I make more firm small dumplings in stews sometimes, but will give a try to these large fluffy ones.
Do the dumplings soak up the liquid from the curry? In Your video it doesn't look so, but in my previous attempts over that few years they have done so - I now tend to put less water in the dumpling mixture - but that makes the dumplings more dense and less like bread. Also is it okay for the dumplings to stick to the meat/potatoes already in the pot? If not, how do I solve that? Great narration!!
Hi. Thank you for your questions. The dumplings do soak up some of the gravy, but not all. I try making a good amount offb gravy so that there is for the side as well. The art to not having it watery is alot of tomatoe paste as it thickens the curry/gravy for you. Yes if you put less water it does cause your dumplings to be dense and heavier rather then light and fluffy. Once it is in the pot and steaming, it losses the water to the pot and help it to flake into a breadlike texture. Keep trying and you will definitely get it. Wish you all the best in some hot curry attempts. Lovely for this chilli weather.
Yes it is fine for the meat and potatoes to stick as that's the best part of combining it to the curry so that all the flavours are together and it is not dry

Thank you for the recipe 😘

Come out perfect... 🌸🤍🌸
Hi..Thank you for the your easy recipe to dumplings.
Will dumplings still be good the next day if I leave it overnight in left over stew?
Yes it will be fine. It will be a little dryer though so you can add more gravy to it if you like but don't recook it as it could burn
@@rizeema ..thank you. Most definitely trying your recipe. Stay blessed.

Can i use normal bread flour.?
Yes, you can try with normal bread flour. Just add some baking powder to help with the rising.

❤🙏🇿🇦❤
I just cover the pot with foil
How long must the dough stand before putting into the stew?
About 30 minutes should be fine. I usually make the dough before I start cooking so it uses that time while cooking.
I don't leave my dough to stand at all......I also reduced the baking powder to 1 teaspoon....worked perfectly....no baking powder after taste
Was my grandma’s recipe
New subbie 🙏🙏❤
