My go to diet is Lean Protein, Low Glycemic Vegetables, nothing made from Flour.
I take 800 mg magnesium, 200 mg Potassium, Fish Oil, 2000 iU D3, 100mcg K2,
My Fasting Insulin is 5
I want to add, I’m never hungry and no food cravings ever. I follow Dr Philip Ovadia, cardiologist and others. This dr being one !
I lost 53 on int fasting and keto, drank beer the whole time until I seemingly tired of it and stopped, just don't drink any longer. Now, at exact center of BMI index, I run on mostly root vegetables KAF flour in the form of sourdough breads that I make, beans butter & cheese basically. Rice. Coffee and lots of lemon water. No processed foods, no sugar, no fruit apart from lemon water, one meal a day, no snacking. I do 30-50K of D3 w/k2 & magnesium, with a daily electrolyte sort of drink made up of powdered potassium citrate, AAKG, HMB, BCAA & multi collagen peptides, I routinely put 4 tbsp of organic turmeric with a couple tsp of black pepper into a meal for two, I pound the stuff. also eat rice, only meal is at 5pm. I take a bunch of other cool stuff, b12, A, E etc. but too much to go into here, just providing for comparison/contrast. 61 years old, center of BMI index, can do 10 pull-ups. Most I ever did prior to 2025, was 6. On no meds. Perfect health apart from tinnitus &, I don't seem to actually fall asleep much - though I do get plenty of rest. When on keto I ate tons of meat but now at my weight target I might eat meat once a week, or make an instant pot meal with some meat that provides food for 2 for several days.

I had to stop taking magnesium, i used to take it at bedtime but it made me feel horrible in the morning.. i am getting some blood tests this week to see whats happening
@@stormer6364 good luck. That isn’t normal to feel that way.
@AdamJStoryDC many thanks for the wishes and for the reply, yes 1 or even 1/2 a magnesium tablet made me feel weak and like hungover for hours in the morning. The supplement was a combination of magnesium glycinate, chelate and citrate, I tried 2 different manufacturers.
I did Golo a couple of years ago - only got pills, no food (it may have been an option, can’t remember) I had been doing keto for 5 yrs at that point & I was (still am) taking about 14 different supplements a day, I must say I noticed NO difference at all so when the pills ran out I didn’t send for more.
The diet will fail these people as 3 meals a day doesn't provide sufficient metabolic headroom for the body system to maintain itself. A shopping list is a good idea to provide. 1MAD, is the way. Catchy phrase
