James, You are a true hero for me for 30 years, when I was a teen so lost and alone, Metallica was the only thing that found me. Your voice still pulls me out of the darkness. Your lyrics taught me how to write poetry, I wrote you poems thanking you. It's like you have been a friend to me assuring me that I am never alone. Live to meet you to thank you, James. I have been to 9 Metallica shows, the last one in Las Vegas, NV 2/25/22. Honestly can say that you looked and sound better than ever before. Instantly enchanted me forever loves you.

@@DeathcoreHusky kind of a dumb comment man. she said his voice and his lyrics pulled her out of the darkness. obviously as a fan of metallica for so long and going to 9 shows, she knows theres more than just james. but james is metallica. lars could be kicked out in the 80s and they still wouldve been great. different yes, but still great. personally i like lars's unique drumming style and his ability to compose songs, but james is and will always be the main driving force of Metallica.

He took a whole bunch of us along for the ride. Metallica has taken so much shit from people over the years but I will always have infinite love and respect for this man, as a writer, as a rhythm guitarist, as a performer but mostly as a human. Sir James...much love and respect from this retired Metallica fan. Let me explain because you boys are still in my heart.
In '92...we "Bro-Hugged" at 3 Rivers Stadium at an after party for Guns n Roses. Was a Roman theme...was pretty cool. I walked in and You were shooting pool with what looked like an absolute Cherokee Beauty there on your arm. And my dream that night came true after whacking down a couple of beers from the bar lol...I got to briefly talk with you...and actually bro hug. You were very cool and gracious to me. Thank you for that! I've told the story for years. Still do sometimes...it was awesome!
However...and this is a big "HOWEVER"...
I believe that after living a life of pretty deep sin...Jesus, stepped in and intervened. A blessing that after 13 years...I'm just now starting to realize.
All of this is to help you know that there is "Something Else" that you can be doing now...
    And that is....
Beginning to leave that world behind you and begin to serve, Jesus.
Lars and the boys, too. Including, Jason, Dave and Ron, too...if he's still with us.
And yes...contrary to popular belief amongst you fellas...this is actually possible!!! 😊
James...you will truly and finally find a peace that few men have known in this life.
I'm thankful to be able to still be breathing and able to write this to you. May it reach your heart.
Beginning to prayerfully read in, The Gospel of John, will allow, Jesus, to enlighten our understanding of Salvation through Repentance for our sins. Now spending our eternity WITH, God and Jesus... and not sadly without.
I love you James...and am thankful for this connection to now be brought to righteousness.
    No small miracle here, friend.
God, loves you! Jesus, proved this love at Calvary.
    James...
GOD, FORGIVES IT ALL IF WE ASK FOR IT IN, JESUS' NAME! I mean..."IT ALL!"...and I mean,"RIGHT NOW!"...if we sincerely ask. This is no lie.
    Friend...thank you, again! And...
    The Gospel of John...when you're ready.❤️
    Thank you!

You'll always see this in any line of creative work: Artists don't really stop. They might wind down their career or something, but it's rare that they really just "call it a day" and make a hard stop. - Apparently KISS is now really putting an end to their career, purely with the argument that it's just getting hard for them to wear those costumes and play at their age. Which is totally understandable. But they also had like two "farewell tours" before, but whether that was because they planned to stop or just for marketing, who knows. - Still, you'll see that happen a LOT, that some artists think they'll stop, but they can't help but just keep going. - Sometimes it just becomes very sad, like how Barry Gibb lost his brothers and thus band, but still has to keep performing because he just doesn't know what else to do (his own words). It just looks rather sad with him on his own (and a backing band), but he'd be sitting at home otherwise, which is worse.

I've only come to really truly and fully appreciate Metallica at my current age. Of course I've heard their most famous hits numerous times, and I even saw them live during their European St. Anger tour in 2004. But when growing up in the 80's and 90's I was on the other side of the musical spectrum, mostly listening to Synth, New Wave and EBM. Metallica has always been there in one way or another though, and will continue to be even after they quit. They're undoubtedly one of the greatest bands in the history of music. And they seem to be good, sensible and honest guys - even Lars who has gotten a lot of trash thrown at him over the years. That sure calls for respect!

I feel like right now they’re still playing shows and everything for the fun of it. Not for the money, not for anything else. Shows are a huge source of their entertainment. Honestly I wouldn’t blame them if they quit touring. They’re getting older and with that it gets harder to power through during shows. But although they won’t be touring for that much longer, Metallica will last forever in my heart.

That's all he knows! Over a lifetime, many people do not know how to reinvent themselves or transition into a new phase of life. Many still struggle with their demons, especially rock musicians, and music had been their therapy and their outlet but perhaps they've become utterly dependent on it and when they cannot "do" music anymore, for whatever reason, they are suddenly helpless.

Don't give up James. Black Sabbath who created Metal, has been around since 1968. Thats an entire decade longer than Metallica. Stay strong. 🎸

I wish James had a Heart ❤️ when Jason Newsted took the bassist position over for Metallica. Jason was a great musician I only wonder only if he wasn't tortured by James what Metallica truly could have been. If only 😪 opportunities only come once , it's ashame when it's truly so bad you choice to leave the band.

@James, Just get rid of that lowsy drummer you have and get a good one.... that will make you creative again.
Robert, Kirk and yourself are still amazing musicians.

No the music doesn't get better. I would say that the first 3 albums were phenomenal. The rest of the music is something that the new generation wants to listen to. He needs to stop playing already. He's already in his late 50's. He has enough money already and Metallica is no longer a speed metal band like they were back in the early 80's.
