I'm a dramatic classic, and I appreciate so much that you included textured and natural hair when everyone else "tell me" to keep it straight and polished. It is challenging to feel that what you're born with is not good enough. I used to straighten my hair every day, but have gone au naturel with curls and greys and everything. I still find that that it has to be in perfect shape, and every strand needs to look intentional to look good. That is still a challenge though, but I'm working on it.
So I’ve been typed as a dramatic classic (with dominant classic essence and some ingenue essence). What confuses me is that I really get a lot of compliments when I purposely put a lot of volume in my hair. Sleek doesn’t seem to be my best, but neither is really soft. Not sure if my essence is causing this, or if my body type is wrong.
It could be one or the other! I wouldn’t be able to tell you unless I’m analyzing you. But there’s lot of factors that come into play with your hair: face shape, hair type/texture, body type & essences But if you have been typed with some ingenue essence that could be driving it. And I don’t know what your face type is, could also be driving it!
As a flamboyant natural with a thing for short hair, its been hard out here 😂 I have decided to compromise and grow my hair to at least mid length (bra strap). I just cant imagine having to deal if super long curly hair
Hi! Depends on how much softness you have as a soft dramatic, if you have slightly more angularity but with some softness then yes the angular bob could work, if you have lots of softness I would make sure the overall shape of the bob is rounded as it grows out ☺️
I would always focus more on your face shape versus body type for hairstyles! A disclaimer I put in the video is that there are SO many factors at play, body type is just one and not the end all be all :)
Great video! But romantics should not do super long super larger curls because romantics are not super tall or super big. Those recommendations were more suited towards soft dramatics
I actually disagree with Kibbe on this one! As I often rather look at multiple body types I’ve worked with, majority of the Romantics I’ve seen actually don’t look bad with big and longish hair because a lot of them can be moderate size (and not always super petite). I was clear this is a general video, and since a lot of Romantics are closer to moderate, they can handle this. They are delicate yes, but the softness in their bodies offsets any largeness or volume they have in the hair style & can be very harmonious. Kibbe is very outdated and misses a lot of variables, so I don’t follow it to the letter. But he’s got good general guidelines. These videos are more from my experience being a stylist. It also can depend on your essences, face type and hair type too! So experiment with it 😉
I'm a soft dramatic with very textured hair. My hair is at a bob length, can I use the dramatic angular bob as I grow my hair out?
