- Racing driver Sam Hancock describes the wild experience of taking a Ferrari 512BB LM up to 240km/h, braking hard and changing down into first gear for the first chicane at Monza. Turns out, its not such a monster for a flat-12 powered 500+bhp Prancing Horse! #gwflatout #Ferrari #Monza

I wish historic motorsports had more exposure and were more accessible for international viewers.
I love how you can see the magnificient flat 12 from the top and and rear because of the mesh and rear glass.
Love how you can see the entire engine from the back, so raw !
Absolutely beautiful car
That's nice to see a racer who is happy with his car!
You have a "golden job" the Hancock brothers... 👍💯🏎️🏁🤓🇨🇵
The road going 512 bb is the best kept secret of gran turismo 6. It ran sub 1:35 at Laguna Seca..
Sad there’s nobody in the stands. This is better than ANY modern race series.
I have an old matchbox diecast of this thing that I found at a japanese thrift shop.
I love how you need to dab the brakes before actually braking for the chicane to pre heat the system! Long fast straights cool em down too much.
I think that dab is to push the brake pads closer to the disks before hitting the pedal to stop. Google ‘pad knock back’.
@@mosca3289 I'm familiar with the phenomenon when pertaining to motorcycles, I wasn't aware cars had the same issue. Interesting.
Dave Gould I don’t think modern race cars have the problem. But I used to see it in 80’s touring car racing.
@@mosca3289 V8 supercars still have that problem if you look at pedal cams today
@@unitoftemp I think it also just confirms they have pedal pressure when the are nudging 300km hour
I love the motor sound
This car is fantastic in Forza lobbies.
Yeah ! Thanks a lot Sir!
Sorry, I didn't quite catch how much horsepower it has or the cylinder count and configuration.
180* v12
@@budyeddi5814 Thank you sir.
@@ethownzbh no worries 👍✌
Love how you stayed droll throughout.
The good noise starts about 1:58
That , lady's and gentleman , is a FERRARI .
Belleza de nave un orgasmo para la vista y los oidos .
Love this car.
I would daily it.
Cool
So it’s flat 12 boxer engine or v12?
180* v12. Not a boxer
@@budyeddi5814 A 180 degrees V-engine does not exist. It's called a flat engine.
@@RoverWaters ask Ferrari
@@budyeddi5814 Ferrari official Brochure BB 512 states:
"number and arrangement of cylinders: 12 horizontal opposed"
says it in 2 other languages
nowhere does it say "V12"
google it😜😜
1 min 21 into the video, he nearly spanked it up the back of that white porsche, he would NOT have been popular with the owner!!
❤
this guy ran out of descriptive words very early int the interview
Can we do another take? I didn't feel/share his excitement. Its just words with nothing else coz of his repetitive torque and torque+hp with a touch of boxer,v12 .... Plz get someone else who is gud with words.
3:12 Screaming flat 12 boxer engine...
Noooo.
It's an Flat 12, not a boxer.
There are 180 degrees between banks, and the pistons are configured as a V engine, not like a boxer.
Sad to hear.
180* V12 according to mfg 👍

I remember when 500 horse power was a lot , now the standard mustang GT is touching 500 horse”s
Modern cars are powerful, but very heavy. 512BB LM's curb weight is only 1050kg, so it's hp/kg ratio is still monstrous
Koteki true “ love the Hellcat Challenger, but god .. think weighs like a tank full of bricks along with the hellcat charger
500 hp is a lot for a v6 still. Just depends on the engine and weight and size of the car
Only 240?
Max speed 320-340.
👍🏎🏎🏎👍
180* v12 😛
I thought that, every time he mentioned it being a V12! 😂
12cyl *BoXeR* 😂
Yep, exactly, it’s a 180° crankshaft V12 engine that was called to be a boxer ...
bye porsche
🇵🇹
I'd beat that ferrari with my clio sport
And then you would wake up.)
No boxer engine
I literally came here to say it's 180* v12 :)
