In the older version it was the performers doing the most serious running and at the end they broke through the Finnish line tape at the same time symbolizing not only the completion but working together…

I had a workout just watching this. How these women can run around the stage like they do, including running up and down stairs and small elevated platforms at the front of the stage, while playing some serious music, and not only not missing a beat but not running out of energy half-way through the show is beyond me. Of course part of the reason has to be that they really enjoy performing with each other and for the audience. Hopefully Gacharic Spin gets more international attention since these women really deserve to be heard by a wider audience. Their talent is amazing. They are definitely one of my favorite bands.
Oreo somewhat missed the final chime in this version by fiddling too long with the camera.
She just made it, but had a couple of wrong notes because of it. Also Angie was a bit too quick with jumping the "rope".
It's still a great version though, I love watching live performances of this track. It's a shame a lot of the older ones are not on youtube.
Some of the best I have seen were with their old dancers (Mai really went for it) and I believe one with a fan who was allowed to be on stage with them (she won something I believe). It must have been such a mixed experience for that fan, on the one hand she was able to be on stage with Gacharic Spin, on the other hand they urged her to keep running.
Them signing with Nippon Crown might be a good thing for fans in the West depending on what they want to do with them. But Band-Maid at least toured outside Japan when they were under Nippon Crown and everything is better than what Victor was doing with them (basically nothing).

This band is absolutely amazing. The talent and energy is off the charts. Tomo-Zo always makes me smile with her cheerful demeanor.

Tomo-Zo jogging in place reminded me of Tina Weymouth playing"Life During Wartime" on "Stop Making Sense" where everyone's jogging in place and Angie's like David Byrne taking off running during the synth solo at the end.
They are one of the four girl bands that reign in the Japan of the new era.

The first video I watched like this ... that made me tired and need to take a nap ... was by the Talking Heads about .... LIfe During War, or something like that. These girls never cease to amaze.
The older members have known each other FOREVER. All four girls played in the same indy band circuit, so they've know each other since they were in their teens. Their ages this year will be 37,37,36 and 35. Oreo formed a band called Eu.Phoria when she was 15, then TOMO-ZO joined her the next year (when she was 15). KOGA and Hana were high school classmates, then bandmates in a short lived side-project called Heian. In early 2009 KOGA contacted Hana after she quit her previous band (Pink Panda) and wanted to form a new band. Eu.Phoria broke up October 2009, allowing TOMO-ZO to join GS a month later when their original guitarist quit. Oreo semi-retired and was teaching piano when she was contacted to play with GS as a gig keyboardist in late 2011. She eventually joined full-time in 2012 after Armmy left.
You also forgot to mention Hana's former band Straight Flush/Armeria with Kami Band member Hideki Aoyama (drummer) 2005/2006.
@@yolandria My post only concerned how the GS band members knew each other in the past, so I didn't mention EITA by name, or the other members of Heian and Eu.Phoria. I didn't even need to mention Armmy by name.
If I'm right, Hana (at least) has already run marathons.
