The intro shredding you performed was great. You’re right they are a hard rock band. That is why I love them. Their music actually spans multiple genres, so much we fans say they create a new genre named “Band-Maid”. They have released about 130 songs over 11 years, with the same band members. Listen to multiple songs and you will hear the fusion of genres in the songs. Watch the MVs for “Shamble”, “From Now On”, “ Black Hole” their fastest BPM of 220, or “Rinne”. Talking about Cow Bell, their song “Chemical Reaction” includes the use of a Cow Bell. There are 2 instrumentals you may like too, “Giovanni” and “Without Holding Back”. The lyrics for Hate? is written by the lead singer Saki (aka the Ice Queen) about infidelity in relationships. The lead guitarist Kanami (aka Mincho, Princess) is the songwriter and then the bassist Misa (aka Barefoot Assassin) and 🎉 Akane (aka Gorilla) adds in their content to the song. The rhythm guitarist Miku (band founder, aka Small Pigeon) is the main lyricist assisted by the lead singer. Most songs are mainly Japanese with a varying degree of English.
Congratulations on discovering the best hard rock band in the world at the moment. I enjoyed watching your reactions. thank you. If you're a musician, I'm sure you understand how great these girls are. They are the modern-day Beatles that emerged from Japan. believe me. I have listened to many great artists and bands over the past 59 years. But they are the best. Please continue listening to their songs in the future. They create and perform wonderful songs incorporating various genres based on hard rock. (130+ songs) There may be some songs that don't suit your taste, but there aren't any bad songs. They especially shine in LIVE. Please give us your feedback again.
@@jkkansasband7056 Oh Well then i must try my best for Mincho. Roger's still waiting on YT's decision, it'll be a travesty if they don't reinstate his channel but even whilst missing he said he's now up to #68.😂
TwistedShredder: “from now on” will melt your face! You may not be ready for that yet. Maybe try Domination (live) first. Thanks for the great reaction! More BAND-MAID please!
Thanks for the reaction and comments. Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. Arguably the best live band on the planet and most certainly the most likeable. These ladies exude pure joy and energy. They have a huge catalogue of amazing songs. Check out any one of their official videos. They're all FIRE!!!!! Cheers!

11:25 'She's still going!" - TwistedShedder That's the thing about Kanami, she never stops going. There's a whole other world happening under the main riff of the songs she writes. She and Misa (bassist) are always performing intricate little symphonies almost no one notices on their first listen. They even release instrumental versions of full songs that make you go, "All that was going on under Saiki and Miku's singing?!".
Band Maid doesn't trip my trigger, but there's no denying their talent, energy, and popularity. Japan is on fire! 🔥 Try Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, and Maximum the Hormone. Japan is making metal fun again! 🎉

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po
Welcome to the rocking world of Band Maid. The Maids are as good as it gets. Humble, they love their fans and play killer music. By the way there are a number of all female Asian bands that kick ass. The Maids are at the pinnacle of the movement. I am a 60 year old rocker that grew up with the fantastic 70's and 80's guitar rock. These girls are now my favorite band.
@@Twistedshredder-HOGby the way MISA (Bass) and Kanami (lead guitarist) have many "conversations " with each other. You have a few songs to check out like the Live versions of Don't You Tell Me, Take Me Higher, Turn Me On and Play 🤙🏽
The Japanese metal/rock scene is the best in the world. The talent level is off the charts. Band-Maid, Lovebites (2 of the best guitarists I've seen ever), Nemophila and Hanabie are all incredible & all female. Dive deeper, you will not be disappointed.
You want more shredders from Japan? LOVEBITES, ASTERISM (their instrumentals), GALNERYUS, VERSAILLES and many many more. The Japanese rock scene is amazing!
Yes, I second the suggestion about ASTERISM. They are also pretty diverse, not all they play is metal, but the amount of talent in the band is amazing. I keep relistening of late to their cover of Scuttle Buttin, it's such an interesting interpretation of that immortal masterpiece!
Thank you for your response. Many people say, ``Rock was born in America, grew in England, and was perfected in Japan.'' This group's lead guitar, bass, and drums are top class. Both the singer and the chorus are wonderful. What's most amazing is that the lead guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the rhythm guitarist has written all the lyrics. What's more, there's no crap in everything. I think they are probably one of the world-class rock groups today. I heard that 14 to 15 stops on the tour across America last year were sold out. Please enjoy.
At least in 2022, when I followed them across the States, all shows were sold out except for the one in New Jersey, where they played in the Nickelodeon theme park. That place is pretty big, I'm not even sure what was the cap on the number of tickets there. I think it could easily be 5 or 7 thousand. Almost impossible to sell out.
Misa's bass is heavily featured, normally just killing it throughout the songs but solo's abound as well. Don't You Tell Me from the same show (Yokohama Arena) also features a 'duel'. For cowbell there is Chemical Reaction (from the album Unseen World) a very 70's sounding classic rock song, It seems that Akane (drums) isn't a fan of cowbell and wanted to play the bell on the cymbal but Kanami (lead guitar and composer) insisted it had to be cowbell and I'm with Kanami on that one.
Band-Maid carries the torch for all-female J-rock with Kanami as a top-tier guitarist. For the best guitar duo on the planet, Lovebites, another all-female J- metal band, is a must-watch: ua-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/v-deo.htmlsi=bUIZClatX6EoTvgq
Intense, yet enjoyable reaction Master Twistedshredder. Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. They call themselves a Rock band, but they have a very diverse portfolio and will mix genres elements within a single song. This Official Live Video was from their 10th Anniversary tour closing show at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. I flew to Japan to see this concert and it was AMAZING!!! "Hate?" was song 27 of 33, on a concert which was 3:45 long. Next song for you...I suggest "From Now On" OMV. Or maybe "Rinne" OMV. BTW...the Maids call their fans Masters and Princesses. They call their live concerts Okyu-ji's (Servings) and all where a "variation" of a Maid outfit which matches their personalities. All to sync with the Japan Maid Cafe theme the band is stylized after. PO! 🕊 WORLD DOMINATIOIN!🤘😆🤘 And if you want to see a little Japanese speed metal...check Lovebites, another fantastic 5 piece all female band. Maybe try "Holy War" OLV.
Yeah, it was funny to see in that Documentary about Yokohama Arena show how they all suddenly turn to MISA during a rehearsal, look at her with perplexed faces, and say, "We need a bass solo here!" 😂 I think they meant Honkai, where MISA comes with an amazing solo, and a very unusual effect on her sound. I was literally shell-shocked when I saw it while watching the recording.
Reaction starts @2:05 Band Maid. Formed in 2013 and celebrated their 10 year anniversary with this concert at Yokohama Arena. They had just wrapped up their 2023 world tour that included sellout shows in the United States and Mexico. From here, as a musician, there is no better follow up than their most recent instrumental track “From Now On.” If you’re committed to another live? “Moratorium,” at Zepp 2018.
this song was part of a 33 song set over 3.4 hours in Yokohama Arena in Tokyo Japan. it was the finale of the 10th anniversary tour there are 4 videos from this show on the Maids channel. if you love bass and guitar battle you can also check out Don't you tell ME from the same show. if you want cowbell then Chemical reaction will give you that. Band-Maid instrumentals are also awesome, check out From Now On or Onset from the official channel. Herman Li of Dragonforce interviewed lead guitarist Kanami and rhythm guitarist Miku on a live Twitch stream and he improved during the song Without Holding Back and uploaded clips from it to his YT channel. he also did a reaction video to From Now On on his YT channel. 2 months after this show Band-Maid did a spin off show with songs NOT played at the previous show. The Maids have opened for GunsnRoses in Japan and recently opened for Incubus also in Japan. coming up June 12 Band-Maid welcome Mexican girl band(3 sisters) The Warning for their first trip to Japan. new album dropping end of summer, no fixed date yet. cheers
"They play their asses off"... right, and they're having the best freaking time ever while doing it. ❤🔥🤘🏻 ALL of these 5 ladies are indeed , the real deal as a unit and for me personally no less than the heart, the lifeline of the rock genre of our time. _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. You are correct, they are generally on the hard rock side, though they do occasionally step over into metal. If you want some true Japanese female metal that is on a similarly epic level, give a listen to LOVEBITES, Nemophila and Hanabie! The all-female scene in Japan is bursting at the seams, and their average musician is on par with the best the US and Europe have to offer. If you check out LOVEBITES (considered by many to the creme de la creme of the Japanese female metal bands, you'll get serious Iron Maiden, Helloween, and Metallica vibes ... and they sing in English! Kanami is underrated! ..she also is one of few female guitarists who got on one of "Music is win" top 100 lists. ...whom comment on the "Blooming" video is the most liked and commented.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. 5 ladies who know how to rock. If you want to see how diverse they can be, watch the official live version of Manners / Black Hole.
Welcome & thanks from Japan, the homeland of Band-Maid 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter ) Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Nice intro man!!! Setting the mood right 👍😁 Maids doing what maids do....rockin hard and rockin clean 👌 I would steer you to a pristine contemporary hard rocker, their recent 'Influencer' MV. Catchy as covid, hard ass solos, relevant lyrics, wicked location...shaping the hard rock genre as they please 💪👊🔥🤘🤘🤘
There are hundreds of Asian all-female and female-led rock and metal bands that SHRED. (most of them in Japan). If you check this scene out some more, you may never come back. For a band with twin lead attack that will blow your mind, you;ve already gotten suggestions for Lovebites, and I second that. For the definitive clip of a single guitarist shredding, check out Asterism, "Dawn" ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html And remember, this girl was 16 when they recorded this.
Yes, ASTERISM! They are probably closer to metal genre in it's classical sense. BAND-MAID has it's own flavor, they cannot be put in a box of any particular genre. Well, at least there was a time when ASTERISM called themselves "metal." Even "math metal" 😎 Until they also decided that it's boring to stay within the limits of any particular genre and went out exploring whatever styles came their way. I consider HAL-CA to be the greatest of the currently active guitarists, and Miyu, the best bassist. But BAND-MAID remains for me the best rock band in the world 😘
welcome to BAND MAID Great reaction , Well the next song should be anything from them they are all amazing but different at the same time. I think you should check out Blooming MV next amazing song. If you want something more heavy check out LOVEBITES another japanese all female band that is so amazing as well , Check out HAMMER OF WRATH live i think you will like it. enjoy
Fun reaction. They are a hard rock band with metal influences but they cover a variety of genres. There lots of highly talented all female bands from Japan. Next video might be From Now On MV. It is an instrumental that showcases the skills of Kanami, the lead guitarist. It is also an incredible compositional piece. Yes they write their own songs (music and lyrics). Other good live videos are: Don't You Tell Me (from same concert) Domination Play Unleash!!!! Real Existence Manners/Black Hole
MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass. Akane the Gorilla on drums. Miku the small pigeon on rhythm and backing vocals. Kanami The Riff Goddess on lead. Saiki the Ice Queen vocals.
Oh they have sooo many great songs. If you want to check out their harder stuff you should check out Rinne or Blackhole. Morratorium, Dice and play are some really great songs to get to know the band. And if you like epic instrumentals you should check out Onset and From now on. Great reaction😀 and yes even if they jump around genres they are closer to hard rock.
Band Maid is the best rock band on the planet. They're my #1. If you want to see my #2 watch HAMMER OF WRATH (the newer version) by the power metal group, Lovebites, another all female Japanese band. They'll blow your socks off too. You're only on the tip of the iceberg.
You never heard all female Japanese groups? Power Metal/Thrash Metal: Love Bites - Stand and Deliver Metal/Rock: Nemophila- Revive Kawaii Metal (cute metal): *Babymetal - Road of Resistance Nu-Metal/Harajukucore: Hanabie - We Love Sweets Hardcore Punk: Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire You're welcome!🤘👊
Recently I noticed that I start to have a bias against the male bassists, drummers, and guitarists. When I see a male drummer, I'm looking at him with scepticism. "Let's see, can this guy play as good as Akane or even at a level of 12-year-old girl Sora?" And in most cases I am disappointed. Most of the male drummers in metal are incredibly boring, they can as well be replaced with a fan and a stick. You turn on a fan and put a stick to it---it will produce the same sound as what these guys do with their double kicks.
There are dozens of Japanese all female bands, here are some you’re sure to enjoy: Lovebites, Nemophila, Hagane, Hanabie, Lonsome Blue, Trident, Bridear, East of Eden, PaleNe0, Gacharic Spin, Doll$Box, and many more.
Band-Maid rocks! Checkout these song “Don’t You Tell Me” from the same concert wt. another battle between them ua-cam.com/video/SOj3qXBhiP4/v-deo.htmlsi=qHxmNO0UTTFOlaxs For an official MV that an instrumental “From Now On” Kanami (lead guitarist) sheds the whole song! ua-cam.com/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/v-deo.htmlsi=vGc2y3bJIgC311MJ They’re going into their 11th year and have 130+ songs all banger! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Don't worry Shredder, I'll give Roger Chance a shout out for you for requesting the awesome BAND-MAID cos you forgot. It's ok, no need to thank me, just reacting to B-M is thanks enough.😌
This performance was at Yokohama Arena (17,000 people in attendance). This was the "finale" of their 10th anniversary tour. Band Maid played a 3 and a half hour set!!!!!!
Any Maids serving (as they call their songs) ROCKS!!! The ladies are in their early 30s now and have been rocking for almost 10 years. Try Thrill the track that blew them up on the world stage (the label was about let them go when this happened in 2015), Freedom (drum solo), Onset (instrumental), From now on (instrumental), Hate? Are all great tracks and they have an extensive back catalogue of over 100 tracks. Welcome Masters and Princesses to the 5 Band-Maid members: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. The youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock front women... or front men! MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku), "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals and lyricist. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. She couldn’t play when she formed the band and was tutored by Kanami. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more! AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa), "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Plenty of Solo work from Misa, Kanami and Akane Hope this helps you, Enjoy Bro
Band maid are without a doubt the Princesses of Rock but the Goddesses of Power Metal is undoubtedly LoveBites another all female band from Japan with 2 world class shredders, a 4'9" pocket nuke of a drummer, an amazing vocalist and a newly appointed (2022) 22yr old prodigy bassist after former bassist and co band founder left! They are the most talented band thats came around in a long time and just like Band Maid they can shred. You've just hit the tip of the iceberg that is Japanese Rock/Metal, there are some amazing bands in Japan! Enjoy your journey!
"From Now On" would be a good next reaction, or perhaps "Onset." Both are instrumentals. "Onset is live and older, "From Now On" is an MV but is just them playing. You might also want to dip into the double song video Manners-Black Hole. This is from a live stream done during the covid lockdowns.
You have opened the floodgates. They may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative band since the Beatles, and they are top-tier musicians. I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted the music video for “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 170 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs and ballads with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. They followed it up with a 2023 tour which had to be expanded from their original plans. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. I’ve seen them in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Their shows are truly life-reaffirming. So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2024. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Everything they have posted from their 10thAnniversary concert in Yokohama is absolute fire-I have bought the DVD and recommend you do too. 33 songs, 3 hours of insanity. What you just watched is from that concert. Here are more links, to older performances: Freedom (Feb 14 2020) ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Domination (Feb 14 2020) ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html Choose Me (Feb 14 2020) ua-cam.com/video/HcqitbXgigU/v-deo.html Onset (Instrumental-insane!) ua-cam.com/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/v-deo.html And an official MV, one of their most popular: Daydreaming (it’s a slower ballad, gorgeous and truly heart-wrenching): ua-cam.com/video/RCaeUkrItyY/v-deo.html
Kanami sources multiple influences for her incredibly varied output but you never see the seams. I'd say this goes right back to surf rock (safaris "wipeout") but, as so often with her Lemmy is in the room and much besides. The habit of involving and showcasing every instrument is very much something she has from jazz and and classical chamber music. They're all eggheads at their art and generally other stuff too. Saiki singer is trains, baseball and shoes. Miku rhythm is collecting zemaitis guitars, owning and running a thoroughbred, speed poker (she was vice champion of Japan) Kanami (lead) has a degree in economics and business studies from japan's top school, she's into business and self development books otherwise she just seems to live in a world of music. She has three PRS and bognor amp. Akane (drums) is also a DJ and she and saiki do dance class together. MISA is just about playing bass and being beautiful and mysterious, and drinking whiskey she started by studying live sound mixing before majoring in bass. They all like to eat huge amounts of food, especially Akane but Miku and Saiki can pack it away too. Miku is mainly famous for doing stuff normally old guys only do and also just going off alone to places you wouldn't want your daughter walking through.
"There's not enough bass solos" ... You are new to Band-Maid without a doubt. Japanese rock and metal feature the bass player often. If you aren't familiar with Japanese rock and metal YOU ARE MISSING OUT. It is better than anything that's coming out of the states.
It's the Finale of the 10th Anniversary Tour at the Yokohama Arena. Yes, BAND-MAID are famous for their Call & Response "Battles". They have a few. BAND-MAID consider themselves to be Hard Rock, though they have many Metal influenced songs, some more than others. But they have so many influences! Punk, Funk, Power Pop, Jazz, Classical. They even have soft acoustic ballads, so you can't really just pigeonhole them as just Rock. They don't really have a genre. They are a genre.
You’re absolutely correct in that Band-Maid is it’s own genre. Yes, Japan has decades of excellence in rock, hard rock and metal and, in fact, makes some of the finest instruments in the world. 🌎 And you’ll come to learn that Band-Maid is definitely one of, if not the, finest rock bands on the planet 🌎, too. Next? - “Bestie” - OMV - “Warning” - OMV That’ll give you a couple different styles from the Maids. Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎼😎✌🏼
A few years ago Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame went backstage after one of tbe Maids concerts and requested a picture with Akane. He said she was one of the best drummers he had ever heard
Domination live 2020, solos from all, Freedom , drummer featured, she is a monster player with fans like drummer from Blue Oyster Cult , and jimmy Page who visited them at a live gig in Tokyo, says it all.
I always love the look on the face of a Band-Maid newbie! You have no idea of who Band Maid is and then BAM!!! This is Band Maid doing Band Maid things. I grew up with Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Rush etc so I have a few years under my belt and I’m telling you …. Band Maid is the best of all time and 120+ songs say so. Pick any song and you can’t go wrong, but….Moratorium is great, Onset or From Now On for instrumental, Sayonakadori for acoustic…… I can go on and on…..but you just stepped into the pigeon-hole. (Not Rabbit hole since Miku, rhythm guitarist and back up vocalist and founder, is known as the ‘little pigeon’).
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid! This was the 27th song of a 33 song, 3 hour 40 minute concert. They have over 120 songs and every one is awesome. But they are very much a live band, so pick any one of the lives from their official channel, sit back, and enjoy.
you have much to catch up on with BAND MAID. they are in their 11th year with a HUGE catalog for you to check out. it will keep you busy for a long time. the bass / guitar battles between misa and kanami are legendary. now twisted shredder - if you want to see the best guitar duo to come along in eons then japanese all female metal band LOVEBITES is the ticket. their 2 guitarists midori and miyako are also the stuff of legend and they have 7 years of epic tunes under their belts. here is a link for their live song 'holy war' that will leave you sweating : ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
TShredder: LOVED your facial expressions throughout your reaction! But you haven’t even scratched the surface. The MAIDS rock, and they rock HARD! Watch a few more of their videos and you’ll see. And yes, they are primarily hard rock, but they occasionally drift over into metal.
Never heard of Asian bands fully comprised of ladies? Dude, you need to get out more. Nemophila, Hanabie, Love Bites, Otoboke Beaver,Gacharic Spin, Saiseiga, Asterism...folks, help me out here.
Now go back an have a listen to the double pedal of the drummer. Wish I had a dollar for every double kick. Oh, an they're no one hit wonders. A massive catalogue an you'll find it hard to find an ordinary song. Hope you keep going - you won't be disappointed. Maybe "Don't You Tell Me" from the same concert - or "Warning" MV - Doesn't really matter - pick anything - see for yourself. New Subby from Aust.
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these BM songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live) Also suggest The Warning. They're another ALL female band from Mexico. I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Evolve (live VMAs) & Enter Sandman (with Alessia Cara) BTW - both bands are big fans of each other
Don't miss hanabie (crazy little shredding screaming imps) and Sokoninaru - ultra proggy kinda math but really musical and heavy with beautiful three part harmonies between the three of them. Also maximum the Hormone, the godparents of most of these bands - heavy as hell except when they decide to go all weird and poppy. Female drummer, idol and now drinking buddy of Akane.
Asian women rocking out and shredding is not entirely new, you are just a bit late to the party! 😂😂 Time to catch up! Here are a few suggestions: Lovebites - Judgement day (live from their channel) , Bridear - Still Burning (new MV) . Nemophila : Rise , Adabana, Revive (pick anything from their channel it will be different) , Hanabie - We Love sweets (the universal shock generator 😂) subbed to see you in awww !
7:52 Not enough Bass and cow bell in this world? Band-Maid gots you covered! plenty of Bass solos and as of right now 1 with cow bell New Genre Unlocked: Solid Rock Band-Maid isn't metal but a lot of Band-Maid fans are metal heads myself included. Song suggestions in no particular order. but you could also just click a random video it will be guaranteed 🔥🔥🔥 Blooming Shambles Puzzle for some slower songs Daydreaming Endless Story About Us
The intro shredding you performed was great.
(130+ songs)
There may be some songs that don't suit your taste, but there aren't any bad songs.
They especially shine in LIVE.
Please give us your feedback again.

Nice overview.
OK, check out the MV for FROM NOW ON and be prepared to witness the masterclass of Rock the way it should be. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 1.2

More BAND-MAID please!
There's a whole world of people playing rock n roll that aren't American or British. 😁 I mean, what else would they be doing? Welcome to Band Maid.
Cheers!
I cant wait for this journey!!!
Just think - the bass player was doing all that barefoot.
There's a Korean band called Rolling Quartz whose drummer plays barefoot.

That's the thing about Kanami, she never stops going. There's a whole other world happening under the main riff of the songs she writes. She and Misa (bassist) are always performing intricate little symphonies almost no one notices on their first listen. They even release instrumental versions of full songs that make you go, "All that was going on under Saiki and Miku's singing?!".
One down and the great thing is they only get better the more you hear. Welcome to BAND-MAID.

Definitely excited to dive in!
@@Twistedshredder-HOGenjoy the ride down the Pigeon Hole 🤙🏽
@@Twistedshredder-HOGby the way MISA (Bass) and Kanami (lead guitarist) have many "conversations " with each other. You have a few songs to check out like the Live versions of Don't You Tell Me, Take Me Higher, Turn Me On and Play 🤙🏽
Love the look when realizing they're so much better than I'll ever be lol😂
"I'll"? Yes, amazing song, I second the suggestion! 🤣
Hej Twistedshredder,
welcome to the world of Band-Maid !
Glad to have you on this journey.
PO! 🕊 WORLD DOMINATIOIN!🤘😆🤘
And if you want to see a little Japanese speed metal...check Lovebites, another fantastic 5 piece all female band. Maybe try "Holy War" OLV.
Welcome 2 BAND-MAID, Thanks 4 reaction 🤟🔥. You said NOT ENOUGH BASS SOLO. with BAND-MAID later u’ll say TOO MUCH BASS SOLO LIVE😂👍
Reaction starts @2:05
Band Maid. Formed in 2013 and celebrated their 10 year anniversary with this concert at Yokohama Arena. They had just wrapped up their 2023 world tour that included sellout shows in the United States and Mexico.
From here, as a musician, there is no better follow up than their most recent instrumental track “From Now On.”
If you’re committed to another live? “Moratorium,” at Zepp 2018.
Thanks obviously another reactor that thinks that they are interesting.
Yes, "from now on" would be an interesting thing to react to. I don't know if it may be called metal, but definitely "solid rock" 😂
Maid Rock 😍
this song was part of a 33 song set over 3.4 hours in Yokohama Arena in Tokyo Japan. it was the finale of the 10th anniversary tour there are 4 videos from this show on the Maids channel. if you love bass and guitar battle you can also check out Don't you tell ME from the same show. if you want cowbell then Chemical reaction will give you that.

(Happy fatigue thereafter )
Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Many Americans discover, to their great surprise, that rock is not dead, it has just migrated to Japan 😁
@@VladimirChupin Thanks ✌
Thsnks for this description!
If you want to see a drum solo, try the song FREEDOM live video. It is so good.
Yes, and FREEDOM is also an amazingly groovy and joyful song where the Maids goof around and have a lot of fun on stage!

Thanks bro!
But BAND-MAID remains for me the best rock band in the world 😘
welcome to BAND MAID
Great reaction , Well the next song should be anything from them they are all amazing but different at the same time. I think you should check out Blooming MV next amazing song.
If you want something more heavy check out LOVEBITES another japanese all female band that is so amazing as well , Check out HAMMER OF WRATH live i think you will like it.

Other good live videos are:
Don't You Tell Me (from same concert)
Domination
Play
Unleash!!!!
Real Existence
Manners/Black Hole
If we talk about metal, maybe RINNE (Reincarnation) should also be mentioned.
But all songs from the Unseen World album and Unleash EP are very heavy.
Definitely interested in hard stuff for sure! Thanks for reaching out!
Thanks so much nice reaction!
Thank you too!

No, thank YOU for your kind words
Band Maid is the best rock band on the planet. They're my #1. If you want to see my #2 watch HAMMER OF WRATH (the newer version) by the power metal group, Lovebites, another all female Japanese band. They'll blow your socks off too. You're only on the tip of the iceberg.
You never heard all female Japanese groups?
Power Metal/Thrash Metal: Love Bites - Stand and Deliver
Metal/Rock: Nemophila- Revive
Kawaii Metal (cute metal): *Babymetal - Road of Resistance
Nu-Metal/Harajukucore: Hanabie - We Love Sweets
Hardcore Punk: Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire
You're welcome!🤘👊
Recently I noticed that I start to have a bias against the male bassists, drummers, and guitarists. When I see a male drummer, I'm looking at him with scepticism. "Let's see, can this guy play as good as Akane or even at a level of 12-year-old girl Sora?" And in most cases I am disappointed. Most of the male drummers in metal are incredibly boring, they can as well be replaced with a fan and a stick. You turn on a fan and put a stick to it---it will produce the same sound as what these guys do with their double kicks.

Welcome Masters and Princesses to the 5 Band-Maid members:
SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
MISA! MISA!
Plenty of Solo work from Misa, Kanami and Akane
Hope this helps you, Enjoy Bro
ジミー・ペイジが2017年頃にドラマーのアカネを褒めた辺りから、イギリスで有名になったネ。
First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.

My dude hard rockin women from Japan goes back to Show Ya 1981 Many MANY efing MANY kick ass a woman bands from Korea and Japan.
As an fyi, I believe this was song 27 is a 33 song set from last November at the Yokohama Arena
Thanks for the reaction. Yep Band Maid does all kinds of rock. If you like Metal try Lovebites or Nemophilia both Japanese all female bands.
this band is well diverse and dynamically good bamd
Maids rock, nobody works harder. Now check out LoveBites for some real sexy shredding. Then ask yourself how you missed these fantastic bands
Great reaction - do more Band and I’ll watch every single reaction you do! Welcome to Japanese women advancing hard rock to the next level.
Dude your stinkface during the solo battle was epic lol
Kanami sources multiple influences for her incredibly varied output but you never see the seams. I'd say this goes right back to surf rock (safaris "wipeout") but, as so often with her Lemmy is in the room and much besides.
The habit of involving and showcasing every instrument is very much something she has from jazz and and classical chamber music.
They're all eggheads at their art and generally other stuff too.
Saiki singer is trains, baseball and shoes.
Miku rhythm is collecting zemaitis guitars, owning and running a thoroughbred, speed poker (she was vice champion of Japan)
Kanami (lead) has a degree in economics and business studies from japan's top school, she's into business and self development books otherwise she just seems to live in a world of music.
Band-Maid, epic talent incarnate. Japan has some very awesome woman rock/metal bands...Nemophila is another one to check out.
From Now On (Instrumental) 👌👍
You’re absolutely correct in that Band-Maid is it’s own genre. Yes, Japan has decades of excellence in rock, hard rock and metal and, in fact, makes some of the finest instruments in the world. 🌎
And you’ll come to learn that Band-Maid is definitely one of, if not the, finest rock bands on the planet 🌎, too.
Next?
- “Bestie” - OMV
- “Warning” - OMV
That’ll give you a couple different styles from the Maids.
Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎼😎✌🏼
You need to react to freedom by them the drumming is insane ❤
I look forward to it! Thanks
Astute observation on the genre... as we Madiacs say, the genre is Band-Maid.
😃
If it's important say it twice. Po! Po!
Nemophila
Watch out for the Maidiacs. Fiercely protective of the Maids.
you have much to catch up on with BAND MAID. they are in their 11th year with a HUGE catalog for you to check out. it will keep you busy for a long time. the bass / guitar battles between misa and kanami are legendary. now twisted shredder - if you want to see the best guitar duo to come along in eons then japanese all female metal band LOVEBITES is the ticket. their 2 guitarists midori and miyako are also the stuff of legend and they have 7 years of epic tunes under their belts. here is a link for their live song 'holy war' that will leave you sweating : ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
Rock is not dead..It just lives in Japan nowadays..🤘🔥❤️
if you want an all female japanese metal band then you need to listen to lovebites
Trident, Bridear, and now NEK!
Hanabie, Nemophila, Lovebites, East of Eden and Mary's Blood to name a few of Japanese female band. Rolling Quartz is a good Korean female band also 🤘
Now go back an have a listen to the double pedal of the drummer.
Check out "From now one" and melt your brain.
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these BM songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
Also suggest The Warning. They're another ALL female band from Mexico.
I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Evolve (live VMAs) & Enter Sandman (with Alessia Cara)
BTW - both bands are big fans of each other
"Solid Rock" has it's own ring..... #BandMaid
If you had fun with those girls, you better try also Nemophila, I'll suggest you to start with song Adabana.. you will love this japanese route
Next, react to THE RUNAWAYS.
Band Maid doing Band Maid things...
you need to listen to nemophila and the best metal band lovebites, any live song
No matter how good you think you can play a musical instrument, there is a Japanese Lady who plays it better.
No kidding!
Try the song "Chemical Reaction" from their album "Unseen World". There's a sound you want hear👂😏
On Set please 🙏 🤘
Don't miss hanabie (crazy little shredding screaming imps) and Sokoninaru - ultra proggy kinda math but really musical and heavy with beautiful three part harmonies between the three of them.
Also maximum the Hormone, the godparents of most of these bands - heavy as hell except when they decide to go all weird and poppy.
Female drummer, idol and now drinking buddy of Akane.
Lots of great metal and rock in Japan… check out Nemophila and Hanabie.
Really?
Don't you know about all-Asian, all-female bands?
Let's get to know the wider world.
Yeah she can belt them out pretty good
Please check out Voiceplay song Valhalla Calling great little Viking chant
