As a general rule (not applicable in all breakups) the best chance for getting an ex back is to do no contact for a mininum of 6 months or until the dumper initiates contact (whichever comes last). If and when your ex calls or texts take 1 day to decide if and what to reply. Keep conversations light and funny and positive and short. No longer than 10 minutes. Always end conversations first.
Well it's not really about playing a waiting game. If I used no contact as a waiting game then it is unlikely I would have the strength to stick to it for 6 months. The idea is to use that time to focus on your own life, stay busy with hobbies, get emotional support from family and friends, maybe do volunteer work, maybe take an online class, maybe ask for overtime hours at work, maybe start an exercise program, take a road trip and finally try to be open to new dating opportunities. I know none of this is easy. When one starts no contact I think the hardest period is the first 1-2 months. The emotions are still raw. Yes re-evaluate if the reasons your ex left you are something that you think warrants correction.

Yes, I agree to certain extent where she says to understand ex's feelings. Women I met unfortunately were committed to circumstances and not the relationship with me. The first 3 months is the crucial and painful period or time. If no communications or contact, you would have naturally healed and moved on. Time heals and after more than 3 months everyone would ve learned to be okay differently and put the past behind.

Well it's not really about playing a waiting game. If I used no contact as a waiting game then it is unlikely I would have the strength to stick to it for 6 months.
The idea is to use that time to focus on your own life, stay busy with hobbies, get emotional support from family and friends, maybe do volunteer work, maybe take an online class, maybe ask for overtime hours at work, maybe start an exercise program, take a road trip and finally try to be open to new dating opportunities.
I know none of this is easy. When one starts no contact I think the hardest period is the first 1-2 months. The emotions are still raw.
Yes re-evaluate if the reasons your ex left you are something that you think warrants correction.

In my long-term relationship, a part of me wants them back but another part of me know that it is over. I think people need to ask themselves if it was really love in the first place before trying any of these options to try to get someone back. I know there were happy times and sexual intimacy but it just was not enough to last a lifetime. It has a beginning and an ending. I am working on me now so I can attract the right individual. Louis brought me some happiness but a lot of misery and I release the bitterness. But I will date again and I know my value now.

That was dismally dismissed and I realized that it actually was only me who entered in that relationship and the other person did not even love me at all from the go. I had been in a relationship with a lady for several months. She is my colleague and we see each other everyday but we broke up recently.
