    I am looking to buy a bike, this style, looked at the rebel 500 etc..... the Vulcan looks ok. this is the best review I have seen for most bikes, you are an excellent presenter! Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I'm currently working a night shift part-tine job so all I do is work and sleep hehe
      As you mentioned the rebel 500, they are bringing a Rebel 1100 to the market beginning next year, it's £2.5k more expensive than the Vulcan but it offers a lot for the price! Things like full LED, traction control, cruise control etc I'm actually very interested in taking it for a test ride.

    Which quad lock did you get? (Plastic not metal by the looks of it?) have you had an issue with it rattling and messing up your phone camera? I have an iPhone, some of my friend’s camera have gotten rattled so much it messed up the lens

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  Рік тому +1

      Hi there, my friend!
      The Quad Lock I have was bought in 2019, so it's the plastic one. Never really had a problem with any of the phones I used with it (Samsung S7 and Samsung Note 10+), but I've heard about it damaging iPhone cameras. Just in case, I did add the vibration dampener to it, so that would be something I recommend if you are planning to use the iPhone with it.
      By the way, I also added the wireless charging head and that was life changing!
      Take care!

    Thanks for uploading the video, it helped me make up my mind about buying the Vulcan S. May i ask where in Scotland you are based? I am in Glasgow. I will be getting the train to the dealership in England when the bike is ready and then riding 5 hours back home...... very much used to bigger bikes, been riding Yamaha Vmax for nearly 2 decades on and off so i'm wondering what the Vulcan S is like in the Scottish wind and on motorways.....

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  3 роки тому

      Hi there! Thanks for the comment and I’m glad it help you deciding going for the Vulcan S.
      I’m based in Edinburgh :D I’m assuming if you are getting from down south is because you are getting a nice deal!
      The Vmax is a classic already! What a bike!
      I would say the VS is ok with our winds and on motorways, if the winds are really strong you might have to fight it a bit more, but majority of time is fine. Unless you get a windscreen or something just be prepared to take all the wind because there’s next to no wind protection. I try avoiding motorways, doing 60-70mph for a period of time really gets me tired, it is specially hard on my neck.
      Take care and enjoy it!

      Thank you for the reply. They were doing a 0% finance deal and rather than wait a long time for the bike t come in I decided to phone around to see if anyone had the blue (Ebony) in stock. The nearest dealer was in chesterfield. Heading down to pick it up on Thursday and so the 5 hour drive at 55mph is going to be interesting ... but we bikers love a challenge. I’ll be taking it to Kawasaki Kircaldy for servicing.... spoke to them a few times on the phone and they come across as very helpful professional and down to earth. If ever heading to Glasgow then let me know / always welcome for a coffee. Stay safe and I’m enjoying your videos in the meanwhile

    • @MOTOSPELL

      Ahh that’s nice! I actually got mine on that deal too! Best deal ever! Hehe I like that one with the blue graphics on the tank, it looks awesome!
      You will be fine coming up, it’s a long ride but with some stops here and there it’s totally fine!
      The guys at Kirkcaldy are great, that’s where I bought and service the bike. Now with covid can be a bit unpleasant, I went there in February for the 2nd year service and the other day to get new tires, both times I had to wait outside... I’m glad it never rained ahah but yeah, other than that, in normal times, I don’t really have a complaint about them.
      I might actually go through Glasgow some time soon on the way to Oban, I’ll let you know!
      Let me know about your 5 hours experience when you are back!
      Take care!

      Hi Spell
      Sorry I didn’t get time to reply sooner. It’s been a crazy few weeks. I rode the new Vulcan S and the 300 miles were pleasant. It was a beautiful hot and sunny day, and as much as I was tempted to take some country roads I stuck with the motorway. I stopped after the first two hours due to rear end discomfort and then I stopped every hour for 10 minutes until I got home. Footpeg position took about 3-4 days to become second nature. Love the bike, nice colour, smooth engine, plenty of power in any gear and excellent fuel consumption. I’ve done 700 miles and it’s due it’s first service but I’m still waiting on the arrow exhaust to arrive from Kawasaki and if I can get the exhaust changed on the first service that would be great. The seat will definitely need changed as it is not comfortable for longer journeys. I have a list of other mods that I will probably carry out during the winter. So fat so good and the weather has allowed me to really enjoy my days on the Vulcan s.
      Stay safe
      Jay

    Hello Sir, thank you very much for your fantastic video reviews. I am looking at getting a Vulcan S this year. How are you finding your second aftermarket seat you put on? Would you happen to have a web address from the seat manufacturer? Kind regards and ride safe. Cheers from Australia. 👍

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  3 роки тому

      Hi there my friend!
      Thanks for your comment! The aftermarket seat I have now is awesome! Extremely comfortable! The only drawback for me I think is the looks. It doesn't look bad or anything but the Coremotorcycle seat looks way better on the Vulcan S. But this second one is much more comfortable than the Core so I pretty much traded design for comfort.
      The website is www.jn-seatcovers.com/en/
      It would be a bit expensive for you to get it done there, I imagine as they are based in Portugal. I can send you some pictures if you want of the new seat and the information from JN-Seat regarding the type of foam used, the different layers and so on so you can show it to your local motorcycle seat reupholster. That information is not easily found on their website but I do have the photo they sent me when I contacted them last year. If that's something you would like contact me on facebook or instagram @Motospell so I can send you the photos.
      Take care and ride safe!

      The Versys 650 is a lovely bike! I actually had one just before the VS. I guess it would depend on what bike you like best as engine wise is basically the same. I prefer cruisers, my heart beats for cruisers, that's why I changed, so if you are the same go for it! One thing the Versys is much better is in terms of comfort! In the roads I ride it really makes a huge difference! It's basically a day and night difference!
