I think it would be amazing to see another Asian arowana her size, of a different breed, in the tank interacting with the blood red. Also think it would look great to add more decorations to the tank or do the wood panelling on the exterior of the tank to make it more visually appealing/flow together better.

It's not that simple though. They would fight. You need 5-7 at least. In a SMALLER tank believe it or not. This was a $3500 fish... guess what 7 of them is gonna run me? no thanks.

I'm so glad shes in there. to me it was obvious that the issue for Buddy was being unfamiliar with anything in his tank having the ability to touch him. It's classic animal behavior, fearing what you're not use to. Pretty girl is going to grow up knowing that it's just an object that's not concerning. that being said, can we give her a name?? buddy was never officially/ publicly named until his passing. so far my votes are for "pretty girl" as above, "Lady", or "Princess". And yes, it must be girly! :D

The SuperSquad at that point Frank would get huge too and will probably beat up the arowana anyways
He also said the biggest reason he took him out is to have more stocking options for the tank. Having such an aggressive fish reduces your options. The arowana going in the tank was an after thought.

I think having to worry about sizing and predatory behavior is a little different than actually aggressive and territorial fish. Flowerhorn's are specifically known to go out of their way to beat up other fish. Something like an arowana (depending on the personality and size etc) isn't gonna be deliberately antagonistic to other fish in the tank so long as you're stocking it safely.
He use to house Buddy with all those silver fish (forget the name) so its not impossible. You just need something bigger who is an aggressive enough eater that they can hold their own in the tank.

Is it possible you could put frank in a middle tank? I understand it's not good to do it right away but possibly in the future? Thanks

I think Frank is best in a pedestal tank, where he can see out at least 3 sides, and you can see him too. Just so much fun to see him.
The little arowana looks amazing, adding a nice bit of red to the green and white. I'm glad to see her there, and for you to have an arowana in the gallery again.

You need franks cube back, he like interacting with you and up there it is not really the same is it. Are you going to and any algee controlling fish or shrimps. I think the tiny little clear shrimps might stay off the radar, while the bigger fish are well feed. Worth a thought because the slicone line are showing algee. Do you have a back up or off grid power plan. You need solar, panels on roof could run the place. They make roof shingles that are solar panels 100% coverage would power all.

He's mentioned back up power before he has a breaker that can push select items to a generator he has but he has battery backups until he gets the chance to flip the power, as for solar panels he has mentioned before saying it would be inefficient where he is based

You now need to make a separate segment called "Frank's Tank".
Maybe its an idea the have a nightlight that simulates the moon. This way the fish always have some degree of vision and won't freak out whenever something is touching them in the darkness.
I believe that joey's stated that he was in the room when it happened, so that must mean that the lights were on.

The king of DIY , joe i think its a smart move moving the aro at this age in the big tank , dont have to worry about it jumping or panicing , the big aro lived its life in a tank alone with no decoration or plants and it didn't know how to behave around them but this aro will get a chance to grow up along side wood and plants and will adjust to it , everything looks amazing and keep up the amazing videos
I love her in there! And I think even if she did freak out, she is so small that she would have plenty of room to do so without hurting herself. This tank definitely needed an arowana, she will never replace Buddy, but I am looking forward to watching her grow.

He saw the net and he was like oh hells no! 😂😂😂😂😂 one thing I have to get used to is touching my fish! I have never touched any of them. I tried to get my baby goldfish to bite my finger the other day but they wouldn't. They finally know me though and know that when I come, so does the food! 😂😂💜

Arrowanas jump and the wood is very jagged and reaches the surace of the aquarium.. i would have much more rounded large.. low lying bogwood.. every arrowana jumps from time to time and that's a hazard

Frank needs a toy box! I had a carpinte cichlid, Fred, for close to 20 years that was super aggressive and couldn't be kept with any other fish. To give him something to do I made him a toy box. He had plastic aquarium plants he loved to take apart as well as plastic toys like a small airplane, and a baby doll my niece tossed into his tank. I would rotate through his to box to keep him occupied. His tanks always looked like hell, but I always loved it when I'd come home and Fred would grab one of his toys and bring it to show me.
Timely for me Joey! I had a two inch convict I moved from a 55 to a 10 gallon. I couldn't find my biggest net, so I was using a tiny one. Ended up removing the filters and the heater because he would go from place to place to avoid the net. FINALLY I found my big net, and it still took me 10 minutes to get him. XD After watching a doc on arowanas and seeing them jump several feet out of the water for prey, I wonder if your deceased aro banged his head on something? And Joe, don't worry about comments! There's always gonna be trolls. We know love your guys, and you're just one of the all time nice dudes! We luv ya!
