"1....2...3...stay still!...1...2..3.......60." 😂😂😂 Joey has the best balance of information and humor👌 I'm super excited to see these fish grow up and show their true colors!
I'm so excited, they look awesome! I've only recently entered the world of cichlids recently and have a thriving population of kribensis. In fact, I noticed my first fry yesterday. Cichlids definitely have a lot of personality and are great fun. Enjoy them Joey!!
WOW JOEY! That looks great! I love the mixture between the sand, cichlids, and realistic stone background. After a little algae growth, that tank will definitely look very wild like! Great job, you do things that most of us could only dream of. Blesses with the gallery!
For anyone looking to keep tanganyikan cichlids, Tropheus is a must have. I used to keep the Ikolas, Duboisi and Red Rainbows many yrs back and during those days when i own them, i hardly spent time looking at my other fishes that i kept. So glad you're having them in the gallery. They are beautiful and an absolute blast to see in a tank!!
There goes Joey boasting about how amazing and fun these fish are... but then he gives a glance over to Frank almost saying "No afence Frank". XD More Suspence!!!
I know so little about Cichlids as I've alway had nano fish and invertebrates. I think your love and passion for them is starting to become contagious, Im having thoughts of a big Cichlid tank. I'll keep watching and learning before I start!!! 😋
I have 6 tanks and all are from lake Tanganyika, watching this made my day!!!!!! ......oh try to keep some synodontis multipunctatus as bottom feeders :D
My favorite part, by far, about this channel is the fact that I can go about my everyday life and tune in once a week. Watching your channel and your fish develop is great.
Tray Prince nonono just wait for a couple of months when all the tanks are done with tons of fish then that day would be the best day for fish kingdom ( or when the rays or fish have babies)
This is almost perfect timing. My father has 5 different species of African cichlids and i have taken an interest in them cause they have started to breed and it caught my attention. learning to look after them properly will be a handy opportunity.
I love Tropheus! But I am not a "lake aquarium" guy so I do not have any experience with African cichlids from the lakes. Tropheus would be a dream of mine. Duboisi or Moori doesn't matter (just depends on how much I can spend)! I could use a tank with similar measurements as yours: 4ft x 20in x 20in. But I do not have a clue if this size could be considered ok since it's still 10cm less deep and tall.
A 120 gallon tank can work, but 125 gallons would be better. Having a longer tank provides the fish with more swimming room, and this will especially help (in combination with stocking numbers) to help diffuse aggression levels (especially since tropheus are well known for how territorial they are/can get). Tropheus are the Mbuna equivalent of Lake Tanganyika, but are nicer looking and more rewarding to keep👌. Being algae grazers, they require a diet largely consisting of vegetative matter (more so than the Mbuna of Lake Malawi, which are known to be more opportunistic omnivores than true herbivores).
Joey, I'm really glad you're talking about quarantine. Over in the marine side of this hobby it's very important to quarantine fish because diseases can kill fish very quickly and treatments for the diseases will kill corals and invertebrates. With the cost, and moral ethics involved with keeping fish, quarantine is a must!
Very cool! I remember the tank for Tropheus Morii last year at the Aquatic Expirence. Beautiful fish to watch! and a large colony is going to be super fun to watch grow up definitely one that wears their emotions on their skin
raising and caring for tarantulas i can respect the way the fish look while young. my tarantulas look a lot different while they are young , but it is worth the wait for them to morph to beautiful colors. love the african cichlid
I agree Petricola are beautiful and don't interfere with breeding, also i think Eretmodus cyanostictus would be a good pick because they are also herbivores.
I'm so jealous of your setup! It makes me want to make mine better. I currently have a 30 gallon as well as a 55 gallon with Mbuna. I've been a fan for a while... I'm sooooo happy that you are showcasing cichlids along with everything else. Keep it up.
I live near Houston, so because of hurricane Harvey we had a mandatory evacuation. It was so short notice (we literally went from eating breakfast on a rainy morning, to evacuating our neighborhood in fifteen minutes.) that I didn't have time to find my battery bubbler, so I had to leave my fish with out oxygen exchange. There was a little bit of moss in the tank and I'm praying for the best. Any advice for when I get home? Please pray.
discus for sure . joey thank u for telling us about 1 fish 2 fish , i was on vacation in keji park last week and stoped into 1 fish 2fish for some sponge filters . ,on my way back home to moncton .love the new fish .
If we hobbyist have patience we can witness miracles or phenomenons in our aquariums .u are the perfect example of patience .and by the way I think the 10 year old fish are poor man s discus (uarua) finally our superhero "uarua joey" is back
Beautiful set up, love the tropheus, anyway to hide the air stone & the hose coming down from the other tank.. They takeaway a little bit from the aquascape other then that you couldn't get a nicer cichlids set up!!!
Random question but why purely irian reds on the rainbow tank? They're probably in my top 3 favorite rainbows but I was expecting a variety of rainbows. Still excited to see them all fully grown tho.
Uaru 😀😀 background is more dynamic.. 😍😍😍 it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo natural.. one of a best tank for these little guys nly few people in the world can give them this heaven..
I am excited that you are keeping African cichlids! You will get even more subscribers than you have now with the variety of fish you will be keeping! Keep the fish you like and things will keep going great for you!
The king of DIY please please please add in one of your aquariums a small bunch of tiger barbs!! I have them myself and would love to see your videos on them too.. certain behavioral patterns, the best way looking after them, food they love etc. Please please please!)) By the way, all of your fish are looking good and healthy and thanks again and again for aaaaall of these videos!
If you happen to get some discus back into one of those tanks, do you think you could make a updated video on keeping discus. I have watched your ones from the past but it would be cool to have a fresh video on the topic. Love the videos!!!
Joey, are your tanks going to be continually focused on a single species? Lake Tanganyika has dozens of different cichlid species. Why not add small groups of 10 different species instead of 60 of the same fish?
I love your videos so much. I love these fish. I love seeing what you can do for these fish. I was in a bad mood, so I'm glad to see your video today. Seeing these cute little fish definitely helped.
I think i love gallery insted of 2000g aquriam but, Y the same fish more n more, y u r not mixing fishes of same species, it ill look like pet store. It ill be more beautify if u mix other fishes. Its my suggestion not judging.

Great videos! I love watching your fish. I realized that using two nets to herd and capture fish in an aquarium, speeds up the process, reduces stress, and allows for more control when going after a single fish among many. You should try it and let me know how you like it.
I love watching the differences in how Joey and Jennie from Solid Gold Aquatics approach quarantine tanks. Joey seems to judge more so by physical and behavioral queues and Jennie goes all scientific with her microscope method. It just goes to show how varied the methods of fish keeping are :3
I LOVE THESE FISH! So happy to have them back. Wait till you see them as adults! By the way... who caught the end? What fish am i talk about? hehehe
The king of DIY can't wait to see the gallery complete. So far it's looking amazing
The king of DIY would get a pleco
The king of DIY Discus or uaru. Called it.
Were you talking about the Discus?
Discus or Uaru? Cant wait! Thanks for a great channel. :)

Hey Joey, big fan. Love the channel. Frank needs a light. He's a star and deserves to be displayed nice and bright!
You have me wanting to build a aquarium. Thank you
btw its never a bad thing to want to set up a tank....
I actually like the lighting. it looks like the sun penetrating the deep lake. IMHO
Same! It looks natural.
Avvsomeness I
Humm ... Well ... Interesting ... But what about Mad Dog Frank .. the Minos look cool man for sure
"What did you do for 20 minutes before class?"
Me - "I watched a Canadian put fish inside of his tank!"
+Joshua Franz not a bad 20mins. Don't ask me what I would do before class lol
The king of DIY there's no good answer for that 😂
The king of DIY same
The king of DIY W
Hm. I watched a Canadian unbox fish before class.

Waiting and refreshing for 4 hours. FINALLY
Me to XD
OhDearInPubs no doubt- what the hell took so long Joey?!? 😄
Tyler P hard to edit + maybe an issue w/ uploading. No problem tho it was well worth the wait. Thanks for another great video joey
Warm Pup I was kidding, guys
I have 6 tanks and all are from lake Tanganyika, watching this made my day!!!!!! ......oh try to keep some synodontis multipunctatus as bottom feeders :D
i love how passionate he is about this, really makes me want to add fish to my reptile collection.
I have already aha i know what you mean ;)
My favorite part, by far, about this channel is the fact that I can go about my everyday life and tune in once a week. Watching your channel and your fish develop is great.
Best day ever in the fish kingdom
Tray Prince nonono just wait for a couple of months when all the tanks are done with tons of fish then that day would be the best day for fish kingdom ( or when the rays or fish have babies)
Amazing how that backround just comes to life, and looks so much different with the fish in the tank.
You are the only youtuber I wait for a long time impatiently
This is almost perfect timing. My father has 5 different species of African cichlids and i have taken an interest in them cause they have started to breed and it caught my attention. learning to look after them properly will be a handy opportunity.
I love Tropheus!

I've been waiting all day for this video. Plus loved the intro.
I absolutely LOVE these fish!! I am so glad you got them, Joey! I can't wait to see them grow into beautiful adults!
Nice joey. Really happy that I found your channel, really entertaining. Keep it up!!
+Scooby Snack Goat thanks! Will do! (My phone just tried to autocorrect that to "thanks baby"... haha glad I caught it)
Lmao 😂
Very cool! I remember the tank for Tropheus Morii last year at the Aquatic Expirence. Beautiful fish to watch! and a large colony is going to be super fun to watch grow up definitely one that wears their emotions on their skin
You put a smile on my face with that into. You deserve a like just for that..
The rainbow fish tank looks so stunning even just sitting in the background of this video. Great job Joey!
Discus!!!! Also who else feels bad that Frank doesn't get a temporary light
Jordan Allred me. I do. I also want Frank in a bigger set up. With other fish he cannot bully... for company.
Fish like Frank don't need company. They prefer to have their own territories, which in a tank means they are best kept alone.
smiler fish like Frank will slaughter almost every fish the ones he can't would eat him.
Jordan Allred lights are for us so we can see them better
Artificial light is only benefitical to us, not the fish. There are no plants so natural light is fine and more natural for him.
raising and caring for tarantulas i can respect the way the fish look while young. my tarantulas look a lot different while they are young , but it is worth the wait for them to morph to beautiful colors. love the african cichlid
I had been waiting all day, and its finally here!
The process of you evolving and making new steps all the time is really interesting to watch. Nice work!
A few synodontis would look great and would keep the tank lake specific.
I agree Petricola are beautiful and don't interfere with breeding, also i think Eretmodus cyanostictus would be a good pick because they are also herbivores.
I definitely agree with you, it is going to be very interesting to see them change colors as they grow, love Tanganyika cichlids!
I see my little Frankie
I don't know why I find all these fish videos so satisfying to watch. Have been obsessed since getting my first aquarium a few weeks ago. Great vid!
Joey, do you eat fish?
yup
Left Right High in protein.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Left Right I know, it's just awfull. I mean, I understan eating fish, I have goldfish and I LOVE eating fish, but eating dogs are cruel.
Some animals are more equal than other animals, right Cindy?
Elizabeth Boulais What do you mean by that? Is it sarcastic?
They are so cute!!! It's going to be fun to watch them grow and change.
What happened to the shell dwelling fish aquarium?
I'm so jealous of your setup! It makes me want to make mine better. I currently have a 30 gallon as well as a 55 gallon with Mbuna. I've been a fan for a while... I'm sooooo happy that you are showcasing cichlids along with everything else. Keep it up.

So Happy that u included cichlids in your gallery!!
When I find the video before it gives me the notification...
The tank looks AWESOME with the lighting you have on it!
''fill the first aquarium out of ten'' he is saying while frank is there in one looking so sad joey forgot about him
+hardstyle feverz he's not staying there permanently. Has a few months though.
hardstyle feverz frank be like "how dare you forget about me?"
Free frank!
The king of DIY he is just waiting for you to set up his wee home in your bedroom :)

,on my way back home to moncton .love the new fish .
Where the shell dwellers at?
Yeah!
i think he sold them, not sure
he did say he sold/gave them away quite a few videos ago.
But I thought he kept a few giving most of them away except a pair or 2?
and the goldfish
If we hobbyist have patience we can witness miracles or phenomenons in our aquariums .u are the perfect example of patience .and by the way I think the 10 year old fish are poor man s discus (uarua) finally our superhero "uarua joey" is back
Love u joey
Yo Joey, I've got a juvenile large mouth bass if your interested. He's trained to eat pellets as well.
I believe he mentioned why in the video where he first put them in a tank.
They look so cool in the intro in the background
Uaru 😀😀 background is more dynamic.. 😍😍😍 it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo natural.. one of a best tank for these little guys nly few people in the world can give them this heaven..

For the 2% who read this. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and follow your dreams. My dream is to become a successful UA-camr : )
NuggetMaster101 You like nuggets? I like nuggets... I just subscribed based on your name alone.
Your gallery is really coming together nicely now!
Joey, are your tanks going to be continually focused on a single species? Lake Tanganyika has dozens of different cichlid species. Why not add small groups of 10 different species instead of 60 of the same fish?
I don't know much about ciclids so I looked them up
wow the whole class of these are beyond beautiful

BOW DOWN AND KNEEL Legend
uh, thats just sad. But... woa
nice choice about African cichlids the trophius. and can't guess about new fish that you kept before, but i'll eagerly wait for that surprise!
Tank looks good. But why don't you add some clown loaches
Colly clown loaches can't live with tropheus. And plus if he added clown loaches the tank would be overstocked.
Nice tropheus! Suspected that's what you were going with, but was holding out hope for goby cichlids, which I find are the funniest little boogers around. Can't wait to see the discus.
Octopus?
Wow 😱 that's such a nice tank joey, the fish work so well with that beautiful rocky background !!!
What are you gonna do with the shell dwellers? They are from Lake Tanganyika too... Maybe you could set up 2 Lake Tanganyika Tanks. The Tropheus Tank and one with the shell dwellers and some Altolamprologus compressiceps or calvus.
Get oscars
Jase Bouma I
Rainbow fish following Joey is the freaking best, it's like he's a magnet
Id get rid of the rainbo fish and choose a better species
Red Foreman oh would you? Build your own tank and do it then.
Red Foreman I like the rainbows I think they are cute. Although if you really don't like them then don't buy them
You're the only person I enjoy watching, so descriptive and you genuinely know what you're doing! 👌🏼
Joey.... we all love your passion and enthusiasm, but dude.... your rocking back and forth CONSTANTLY is getting hard to watch. It's even gotten worse lately. I'm not criticizing, just trying to help....
Better when he's sitting.
Great videos! I love watching your fish. I realized that using two nets to herd and capture fish in an aquarium, speeds up the process, reduces stress, and allows for more control when going after a single fish among many. You should try it and let me know how you like it.
Chilling on a Saturday catching up with Joey videos...brill!
DISCUS!!!
Yay!
Looking forward to seeing which ones you've selected.
I love watching the differences in how Joey and Jennie from Solid Gold Aquatics approach quarantine tanks. Joey seems to judge more so by physical and behavioral queues and Jennie goes all scientific with her microscope method. It just goes to show how varied the methods of fish keeping are :3
