Here a new customer called as they started making food for Christmas and she had no water. I show some short video clips of pulling the pump out and showing what actually failed on the pump
Like you said it's not very often you see the shaft twisted off. The spline failures we see are usually tied back to a bad pressure tank and fast cycling. Have a merry Christmas

Why not replace the wire when you replace a pump, always good practice to do that in my opinion. Especially when it's at that depth.
About what is the cost of a service call like that?
Im hoping i dont have to pull my pump. I changed both capicitors. It was tripping reset. Now I only here click sounds. But no water

we always meg it and check continuity along with a visual check for any knicked or rubbed places before even considering reusing it. We try to reuse and save what we can for our customers. Sometimes this means reusing the wire if its clean, replacing certain sections of wire, or sometimes all of it. It depends on the usage it has had and if the bladder tank has been bad for a while
Sometimes you can't visually see the bad spots in the wire, for our quality pumps we put in we require new wire regardless to garuntee a warranty.
