    That Gyrotourbillon is one of the most amazing movements to look at. It is just mesmerizing. Thanks for the review.

      I have to agree with you. While there are some that I feel might have more charm or cheeky character, this one pretty much maxes the scale for artistic, horological, inventive, and engineering merits.
      Best,
      Tim

    Patek Philippe is a brand and Jaeger-LeCoultre is a watchmaker. In essence that is the difference between brands and watchmakers.

      Look... I get the temptation to shit on Patek and while they don't match the value of jlc, the 5208 p, the sky moon tourbillon, and their general domination of the minute repeater, the hardest of all complications, remind you that Patek is the og.

    If I had to change one thing about this masterpiece, it would be the chrono. Although that chrono is more impressive, i would prefer that side of the dial be constant seconds and a date window.

    A peace of art you would love to wear refined ,technically beautiful masterful ,a statement of magnificence, it can take up to a week to aline the hair spring alone, thanks Tim👏👏👏🖖👍⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚it's worth that many watch star's,50 meters water resistant, is pretty incredible for all that to go under water and live.

  • @willfrank961
    @willfrank961 7 років тому +1

    That Gyrotourbillon is beautiful but let be honest it's done purely to be beautiful. If you want higher timing accuracy you'd buy a spring drive... I could watch it move all day but i would call it an advancement in engineering and aesthetics but not an advancement in Horology..

  • @jbiasutti

    At this point watchmaking becomes art rather than science.
    A cheap quartz watch has better accuracy than the finest mechanical masterpiece.
    That said it is a wonderful piece of art and showmanship.

    • @the1916company
      @the1916company  7 років тому

      It's true, but the capital "I" in typed text didn't look enough like the Roman numeral, and I was afraid people wouldn't make the connection because of this. Still, Patek does use IV, so it's not *totally* outside the market :-)

    That is not true white Gold is stronger than Platinum, the higher 18 carat in gold the softer it is, the lowest 9 carat gold which is harder than 18 carat still softer than Platinum, the platinum is dense much harder and cost 3 times expensive than 18 carat gold, in the other hand the white gold will never keep its white color, the process they do is mixing silver with yellow gold to come up with white color and they have do the final treat by plating the piece with silver on top, but after use the piece of jewelry will show some yellowish over time, the true yellow gold molecules will start to travel to surface after while, that will make the piece showing discoloring and terrible look, the only way by keeping it white color is the have it plated again, most top end watchmakers use pure platinum or titanium because of hardness and the true silver white color purity, they are beautiful natural silver luster and high value, the older it gets the better look it shows, the platinum 95% pure or titanium both originally by nature have silver color and have the ability to be polished to keep the white silver shining while white gold is not a true white color metal, it is an alloy, it will never stay silver white, I will call it " fake metal ". So from what I see in this video the body watch color looks like made of platinum.

    - there is not gravity
    - the watchmakers does not need counting on Gravity
    - they need only counting on FREE FAIL and MASS on the thing whom rotate left right for escapement
    - name tourbillion right ????????????? do not known
    - keep thing always vertically then the bearings are weighted properly
    left + right
    - horizontally, is only under bearing loaded weighted
    _
    no Gravity
    - Cavendish experiment on whom is everything based about Gravity say
    Huge MASS pull small MASS
    - huge MASS Planet Earth pull more heavy things more whom mean faster fail down
    - only it does not happens in reality in all conditions while it must to be
