    Will be interesting to see to see how the Panasonic Z95A compares to the G4. In 2023 the G3 had all Panasonic’s sets beat.

    Great video. I'm interested in buying the G3. Would you advice I wait for the G4? My main concern is the upgrade to 144hz for gaming on the G4. For P.C gaming is a little bump from 120hz to 144hz really worth the investment for a G4?

    Is the Sony dual lcd or just more zones?

    • @A_Burly_Gnoll
      @A_Burly_Gnoll 5 місяців тому

      More zones and better control of the zones by dimming them at a much more accurate level to what is needed on the screen. I wasn't there but I have heard several reports that when shown a backlight only version that it looked like a low resolution black and white version of what was on a normal screen. Hopefully this tech will make it into this years TVs for Sony. This is the first report I have seen of anyone saying they were going to make it into this years TVs

      Better local dimming which was very good in the demos. I can't wait to test it out.

    Agreed, Sony's demo was the most impressive especially since it looks to improve on the X95L and quite dramatically and if they pull it off 2024 will be the Return of LED.
    It's interesting that QD OLED and MLA have made OLEDs look for the most part almost normal next to LEDs in terms of brightness. This technology looks to do the same for LED by addressing darkness and brightness of small areas and looks to take FALD to the next level.
    The biggest question is how much of that will trickle to the X90L and X93L. If the X93L gets better than X95L performance, it will certainly be a compelling alternative to the A80 series and also for the A95 in terms of value.

      You mentioned exactly what was on my mind, too. X95L looks incredible but it is so cost prohibitive. If we can get a similar TV in the 2,000usd range for 75" we will have an incredible year for miniLED!

    • @avforums

      It looks very matt and does reject ambient light from what we could see on the show floor. However, this was at a manufacturer demo (i.e. take with a pinch of salt until tested properly).

      @@dontmindmeimjustvisiting9665 Purists who watch in a dim to dark room don’t give a flip about better anti-reflective properties, but will take issue with the fact that matte always reduces perceived contrast versus glossy, and, as has been shown in other demo videos of the S95D, the wider dispersion of the reflected light lifts blacks slightly and creates an effect akin to blooming. We’ll have to wait for full reviews to know for sure how this performs in a dark environment, but this set does not seemed geared toward videophiles based on those early impressions. It’s basically a “FRAME” OLED.

    Are you sure Samsung's only qd oled tv for 2024 is the matt s95d? I thought they would be ramping up production not down. So the s90d is going to be a significant downgrade from the s90c.

    • @avforums

      S90D will be QD OLED for 55, 65 and 77 inch sizes. 42, 48 and 83 will be LG Display supplied OLED panels as Samsung Display don't produce QD OLED at those sizes.

    No major jump with the LG G4 this year??? Did you not think to mention that is has a completely brand new and improved AI processor, which is 4 times more powerful than is predecessor... It also comes with the new panel meta 2.0, it has 144hz this year and comes with higher brightness/peak brightness and that's just off the top of my head... I think this is quite a leap from the G3, just the new processor alone which is set to compete with the XR chip.

      We don't fall for marketing hype and will fully test and measure each and every TV this year to see if indeed any of the claims are accurate. To me, there is incremental improvement potential with the G4, but seeing as nobody has tested the claims made with a retail available sample, we'll not be partaking in the hype train. But we will give you an honest and unbiased assessment based on objective measurement when we do get our hands on one.

I hope Sonys X95M 85" is great and reasonably price as well . I more likely to buy a Sony 83" WOLED as price is oK . Saying Panasonic is worst evah , than big box no name OLED/LCD with real old paneels is a bit silly . Just say not for me still love Sonys QDOLED , no need to be negative as Panasonic is pretty good at customer care . Plus like Sony they want a great natural presentation .
