    Well done, Peter. This is one of my favorite routes, and one of the prettiest. Don't forget that, in addition to engaging the Tilt Isolation, you must also disengage Speed Supervision mode (the blue button on the TASS console). Otherwise, TASS thinks you are over-speeding above 105 mph (without the tilt mechanism engaged), and brings you back down to a safe "non-tilt" speed. Again, BZ mate, and I look forward to future routes! Cheers!

    Is my monitor dodgy? There are a few places where there are references to being able to see a signal or whatever, e.g. at 19:21. However it is completely invisible on my monitor (Philips 278E, curved screen, 27") for, in that case, at least another 10s.

    Btw, to anyone watching this video in 2020, the JT Voyager got an update in 2019 which gave it some better looking textures, a new air dam option (essentially the 2 body pieces either side of the coupler at the front and rear of the train) and it also fixed the power handle, so the throttle is now notched as it should be.

    Another splendid video, Peter. Like the M5/A38 road to Plymouth, it gets more interesting once you are past Taunton.
    I do think that producers of these simulations ought to send you a free advance copy for you to identify the bugs and errors, in exchange for a free copy of the corrected article.

Are you referring to Wells as in Wells Cathedral in Bath and Wells in Somerset? I don't appear to be able to find Well, or is the spelling different? Your explanations are very clear by the way. @PTGRail  7 років тому

      I will indeed. I've got it installed with the HEP sound set.

    • @trainmancorey
      @trainmancorey 7 років тому

      PTGRail Ok great. If your doing the Empire builder with more than one locomotive then the leading loco is not in HEP mode. It provides the motive power. The second or third P42 is set to HEP mode for the passenger cars. That constant high RPM would make any engineer deaf especially on a long journey like that.

    • @PTGRail
      @PTGRail  7 років тому

      Is there a way to use the sounds in such a way that one loco is in HEP mode and one isn't?

    • @trainmancorey
      @trainmancorey 7 років тому

      PTGRail I could not give you a good answer because I haven't experimented with that setup. In certain cases a leading locomotive could be put in HEP mode depending on the need. I don't think the physics change with this pack. I only believe that it's a sound difference. I am not to sure exactly.

    I dont particularly like trains. I dont even have a PC but i love these videos. They are mesmerising. It must take ages to learn a route? And final question..... what's that circular dial thing in the centre of the dashboard that looks like a dart board? Thanks for uploading. Subscribed.

      Is the AWS Sunflower. Is lit when train passed the last AWS magnet on caution/danger/speed reduction (all that isn't a clear signal) so driver will remember that

    why do you need to isolate the tilt mechanism

    • @PTGRail
      @PTGRail  7 років тому

      To stop the train from tilting as it's not authorised to do so on this route.

      why is it not authorised

    • @PTGRail
      @PTGRail  7 років тому +1

      Because the only route modified to allow trains to tilt is the West Coast Main Line. This route has not been modified to allow trains to tilt.

      So in real life, Cross Country Class 221s operate with the tilting mechanism isolated.

      Tilting shouldn't be isolated,I think that when train passes a curve on standard speed limit or less it doesn't tilt whatever

    Best train simulator videos so far! i'm enjoying them so much. Love it! Great work! Sorry for my English. I'm from Spain. Are you interested in the spanish railway system? I think you should try some spanish routes. The spanish signalising system is very interesting. the routes are here: www.railsim.es and www.spaintrainzrutas.com I would like to see you driving spanish routes so much. Thank you and keep the great working ;)

    Speaks like an announcer and tour guide. Gets on my nerves after a while although the information is good.

    That's actually a 220

      Nope that model is of a Class 221 as it says "super voyager" in the cab and it has tilt. Class 220s are just "Voyagers" and do not have tilt

      @@tgm9991 The XC 221 doesn't have tilting now

    • @TheArkamedBat
      @TheArkamedBat 3 роки тому +1

      The 221 has 5 carriages,but a few XC 221s have 4 carriages (not saying about 220s)

    This is not fun??

    • @PTGRail

      The depends entirely on the perspective of those watching or playing. Some people find football fun, whereas I find it boring. Others find trains fun, but many would say they're boring. :)

      True - I would have found creating the worlds around the trains fun rather than driving them, I thought you could create but does not look like it, not with any real detail anyhow.

      I say trains are fun (some trains like the Pendolino or the Javelin are pog)
