    You are right that Chester is in England. The line passes its famous racecourse, the 'Roodee' as its nickname.

    I have always been a flight sim fan, and always thought that the rail sim would be too easy in comparison.On impulse I bought this last week while some of the dlc was on sale. This route is the only thing I have tried so far and I found it much harder and more enjoyable than I expected. This is the first route I tried and I just couldn't keep up with the timetable. After watching this though, I realised that I needed to be more aggressive with acceleration and breaking. So I have found this to be extremely helpful.

      Sam Walsh Haverfordwest is not in the game currently, there would need to be a Milford Haven extension to have it. The furthest point he can drive from is Swansea.

    From looking at Google Maps, the border into England is just before the bridge which is after the signal 2 1/2 miles from Chester before the 2 lines become 3.

    I always found it funny how you pronounced the German names... Now you should probably find it funny how I thought the Welsh names were pronounced, especially Llandudno... I only knew how to pronounce the English names Chester and Crewe...

    I work on the railways in Scotland (I'm a steward, though I recently passed my 'safety critical' test for a conductors position). On a fair number of the lines I work (including one you've covered in a previous video from Perth to Dundee) we use coloured light distant signals and upper quadrant semaphore home & section signals.

  • @endlessnameless1211
    @endlessnameless1211 6 років тому +1

    Stops at deganwy are only by request so you don't need to stop there unless someone has let the conductor know.

    46:07-ish: I must admit, a part of me is extremely slightly microscopically disappointed that you made no mention or special camera shot to passing the hulk of the TSS Duke of Lancaster. As I recall from my days traveling up and down the NWCL, that was one of the most distinct non-natural landmarks on this route, and I'm pleased that DTG included it in their version.

    GSMR and NRN!! Haha. Just annFYI, the signal number is 007 from P3. Hold gear is the heater button now too! Let’s see what else I can see that’s wrong....(taking in mind I drove this route 2 times today in a real train) ok, can’t speed up until the 2nd junction out of Llandudno. That semiphore doesn’t have an AWS...... no AWS fore the (non existent) Morpeth board for the 35 towards Deganwy. Half barrier crossings??? (Stopped in the correct place by the way) ....... this gonna be a long comment!!! A 153????? Was it lost??? This guy is slow AF btw!!! 20/15 is a pain, hate it! Bangin detail to be fair. We’re at Llandudno junction now, stop by the 25mph board (fyi). There IS a 45mph sign out of LJ.....(did that nuclear flask only have one loco????) I want to wrap that telephone wire round the DRA box!!! Oh, and a 150 would never hit 75mph before Colwyn Bay, a 175 doesn’t hit 75!!!!! Stop at Colwyn Bay at the end of the canopy, this helps if you have a wheelchair at the back, there’s a red barrier put in place and it impedes the wheelchair ramp otherwise. Don’t know where these trees have come from??? Nearing penmeanrhos tunnel. Need a wee. Don’t need to shut off after llysfayn. (No groundframe?) what the hell was that signal before Abergele??? Doesn’t exist now with the new signalling and it didn’t exist before it changed either!!! (Now 90 right after Abergele) I don’t watch anymore of this, it’s annoying me!!!!

    Not to sure if it is a feature of the class 150/2 but it seems that even in full power the train lowers the rpm of the engine at around 45?

    • @PTGRail
      @PTGRail  7 років тому +1

      Destination Gaming that’s to do with the transmission in the Class 150. The rpm does slow down at around 45mph, but then gradually increases with speed. So above 45mph, it’s directly related to how fast you’re travelling.

    • @jonathanansell5627
      @jonathanansell5627 7 років тому +1

    • @Ramsay58
      @Ramsay58 7 років тому +1

      You'll have to buy TS2018 to get the North Wales Route, though TS2018 is priced at the same price point ((£24.99) as a single 'new' route. Existing TS2017 owners get the TS2018 re-branding (TS2018 loading screens) but won't receive the 3 'new' routes for free.

    I can't stand the comment section on these videos sometimes. Everyone just requests random routes and they don't bother to research and look on steam to check if the route is actually in the game, so they just assume that every route in existence is in the game.

    It's a shame DTG don't reward the people that have had the game for years with the addons that come with TS2018.

  • @owenmoran8344
    @owenmoran8344 7 років тому +1

    Will they be releasing this as a separate add-on instead of buying the game again?

    • @Ramsay58
      @Ramsay58 7 років тому

      Not sure it'll make sense until TS2019 is released as, TS2018 is priced at the same price point as a 'new' route (£24.99) - you can think of TS2018 as "North Wales Route" plus 2 bonus routes (sucks if you already own them though).
      Personally, I'll be waiting for a sale as I've got plenty of other routes/scenarios to play first :) but having ridden and worked on the line, it is a route I'll get eventually.
