Join me as I discuss some of the key news items to come up within the trading card and sports card hobby over the past week. Typical news items range from card grading news, scammers within the hobby and any other cool trading card updates that I think are relevant.

They were not resealing psa holders. They were fake holders and fake labels with real lower graded cards in them.

In a PSA case and they’re fake ? THATS A PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY !!!!! 🤬 Grown adults in “ ME “ mode selfish little toddlers. Laughable u have to scam for a living.
The bigger problem is the gullibility of a lot of sports card collectors. Just watch a few breaks on whatnot and you will see people pay ridicules amounts of money for basic garbage lol. So without victims you wouldn't have all these scammers. Your right people need to pay more attention :)

I watched chips rips video and I have to say he doesn't seem like he knows what he's talking about when he gives his reasoning to why he thinks it's fake and he also claimed to be able to confirm that the card was fake but didn't give any actual proof or confirmation from someone from Panini.
I know for a fact that Panini does have Stephen Curry On-card autographs in Sealed Panini holder's because they actually sent me one

Yes, he did a good job highlighting the issue, but the remarks about sealed on-card autographs being a problem is misleading.
These are obvious fakes, because they weren't released with autographs and the authentication text on the reverse is bogus.
This isn’t a white box card though so I think it was just an oversight on his part
And people think there will be no reprints of the 1984-85 Star 101 Jordan RC graded by PSA. There’s a reason why they stopped in the first place
Not to mention the guy (or his son) that owned Star is probably still printing! He printed these Star cards for years after release.
@@SreyAun-sd1eb he was using the original printing plates so as long as the card stock and ink are the same it’s impossible to tell which ones are the original copies. Grading is such a scam.
When Star became available, NO ONE legitimately considered those as real cards, compared to the brands you could purchase almost anywhere in the USA. They were sold in sets or team bag packs of multiple copies of the same card. They were and are "Want To Be's" in the card collecting world. Never consider that a valid card for true rookie card status.
Regarding the ebay seller the main red flag for me is it sounds like he's from China, I automatically avoid any seller from there.

Highlighting Marvel cards is great, but please don't judge the hobby on MCU sets. Production can be nice, but the value is so harsh

It's just a matter of time that Collectors put PSA on the market like they did to Goldin. Collectors bought SGC for a reason.
I'd be shocked if they did. PSA is an ATM machine to them. Making infinite money.

Maybe instead of tossing a pack I give the contents away?

For the prices people are paying to open boxes and grade cards, it would be nice that they get something that can't be so easy to replicate by an idiot scammer.

Dan great video as usual although I do want to point out that Panini does put on-card and sticker auto card's in factory sealed one touch holder's usually those card's are from redemption's, they sent me a White Box Steph Curry (National Treasures) 1of1 on-card autograph card as a replacement for the Patrick Mahomes Jumbo Swatch Signatures White Prizm Autograph Card /15 they couldn't fulfill
You are correct, I should have said “except for white/black box cards”.
The PSA guarantee is nowhere near as ironclad as you represent it to be. Any time a claim of any significance is made PSA fights tooth and nail to find some clause or loophole to avoid paying out. I feel like as someone who plays hobby watchdog you should 1. Know that, and 2. Address it when you discuss issues involving their “guarantee”
I’ve covered this multiple times in the past. My stance has always been that whilst it’s at their discretion and that they have a tendency to drag their feet, at least it’s in writing. I’ve always said that take them with a grain of salt but if you want to rely on one, them and CGC are the way to go given it’s defined.
@DanTheCardMan2 the problem with your stance Dan is that PSA has graded tens of millions of dollars worth of altered cards. They will never pay out on any of those cards. Collectors have repeatedly presented cards to PSA with documented proof of the alteration and PSA simply says we stand behind our previous grade.
Kind of like "we investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing". Worthless.
@@SreyAun-sd1eb I agree, this is why I’ve always said take it with a grain of salt and assume your money is gone. It’s why u always advocate for my $0 cost base approach to buying cards

lol.. not for first or the last time someone is going to get one over on a grading company.. this doest change anything for me how I feel about grading, or it wouldve mattered years ago, and stopped being a thing at the first case of a scam.. Not Becketts fault, it's the crook's fault bro.. You realize crooks are always one step ahead of the law right, how do you expect Beckett or PSA to be in front of the criminal lololol.. Shame on the crooks.. I love Beckett and PSA, they are doing better, get outa here bro
If they want to be charging people top dollar and be seen as the pinnacle of their service offering than they need to be doing better.
