Geoff Castellucci's version of "Ain't No Sunshine" is possibly my favourite cover he has done. He is also in a mostly acapella group called Voice Play and they do amazing covers as well. The whole group is great at creating a character with their voice. Like in This is Halloween from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, or Oogie Boogie. And so many others. Great humor too.
@@ArabManReacts thank you so much for an awesome reaction to Geoff Castallucci. He has a new one just out called Sounds Of Silence. He goes low & then he goes high. Please do a reaction to it.
Yes he's a low bass singer. His name is Geoff Castellucci. Geof is short for Geoffrey ( you may or many not have heard of Geoffrey Chaucer, the medieval author. It's a very old name ) If you haven't yet seen it, try VoicePlay's The Dragonborn Comes, from Skyrim. Geoff is the bass singer, vocal bass guitar, with the a capella group, VoicePlay. His solo work is not a capella, and he clones himself to cover all the parts of his arrangements. Some people have suggested that Geoff isn't in fact human. It has even been said that NASA is currently trying to discover what planet he actually comes from. But those of us in the know can assure you that he is in fact a human, with a five octave range, and a very lovely one. :)
@@ArabManReacts I was going to suggest the same song, just because you said you spend time on Skyrim 🙂. Anyway, yes, as other said, Geoff can go even lower... AND quite higher. You may not have noticed, but all 4 the guys in the video were different "clones" of Geoff, and the same goes for the voices. He sings ALL parts in his videos. 🙂 As for suggestions... Well, I second DT A's post below here! 🙂 Just subscribed, can't miss your future reactions to Geoff and Voiceplay, ESPECIALLY The Dragonborn Comes! 🙂
Hi from London. I've seen many reactions to Geoff & his a cappella group Voiceplay but this is going down as one of my favourites! He has such a range most people don't believe all four are him. He's done a wonderful cover of Sound of Silence recently & one of my favourites Ghost Riders in the Sky. Think you'd really enjoy his group's cover of the Dragonborn Comes.
Awesome reaction! Liked and subscribed! No, the low bass singer's name is Geoff, pronounced Jeff. But his three backup singers here are Goff, Jeoph, and actually Jeff. The fourth (Daryl) couldn't make it for this occasion..or maybe that was him with the other three and the real Geoff by himself in the other room, it's hard to keep track. But you can behold the Castellucci Quintuplets in all their weird glory if you check out Geoff's mind-blowing cover of Ghost Riders In the Sky. Also highly recommended are his recent beautiful cover of The Sound of Silence, Sixteen Tons, Ain't No Sunshine, Big Bad John, and Blackbird (among others.) The a capella group for which he sings bass (VoicePlay) is another rabbit hole unto itself; their covers of Hoist the Colours, Nothing Else Matters, Dream On, Oogie Boogie's Song, Warriors, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Carry On Wayward Son, Tennessee Whiskey, and oh...at least a few dozen others are absolutely not to be missed.
This is your first Geoff! I found your channel a couple of days ago and start from the latest videos, so it's delicious found your first Geoff! You should try Tim Foust from Homefree. He sang this song too with Peter Hollens, I think.
I just found your channel today. Welcome to the wonderful world of modern acapella! Where the human voice is shown to be the magnificent instrument that it is. From the lowest lows possible (Geoff as one example) to the highest highs. As well as how much the human voice can actually sound like many other instruments (Home Free). Prepare to have your mind repeatedly blown away by their talents and to experience multiple "eargasms" of vocal beauty. Again, welcome to the world of modern acapella.

Ah, yes, Geoff Castellucci has an AMAZING vocal range of about 4-5 octaves, but he's a natural baritone/bass with the ability to do some truly terrifying subharmonics. You know those keys all the way on the left end of an 88-key piano? Yeah, he can get down there.
it's always a delight seeing somebody react to Geoff for the first time, it's unreal what he can do. far as the part about him being hung goes, his wife aint complaining. lol
Geoff is so great you can't believe it and he can also play high notes, because the other 3 are also himself. He just has these arrangements on it 😁🤩❤️👍 'Blackbird' is so wonderful!!!!!!!!
This song is from the HOBBIT. Four Geoffs are always better than one. You were unprepared for the Geoff Quake. Geoff Castelluccis' group VoicePlay did a cover of "The Dragonborn Comes/Skyrim and the HALO theme.
I believe the 3 really low notes Geoff (Jeff) hits in this song are all G1 - which is crazy low, but even crazier is that it's not close to the lowest notes he can hit. Geoff is known for his ability to generate sub-harmonic notes much lower, but I believe all of the notes in this video are done in chest or chest growl mode.
Just so you know all the voices you heard in this song were all Geoff's. When he does a song solo the videos that get done all have multiple Geoff's showing that he is actually singing each part. This song doesn't do justice to how amazing his range is. VoicePlay's cover of Oggie Boogie from the movie The Nightmare before Christmas shows off his range quite well. Check out both Geoff's catalog of covers and VoicePlay's as both solo and in a group he sounds amazing. If you would like more A Capella you can check out Pentatonix as well as Home Free. Both of them are amazing groups that have put out some wonderful covers as well as some originals. Then there is The Bass Gang an all bass A Capella group.
He's using sub harmonic technique, and yes he works at it to go this far down the scale. His vocal range has much broader than many bass singers, the others tend to 'crackle' in the upper range. What I noticed is the smoothness of the ones, the full chest, and the mellow sounds he can produce.

You should check out his cover of Elvis' Way Down. It was the last song Elvis did and it I don't think it was released until after his death, so isn't as well known as some others. Geoff's cover is funny as all get out. You will love it. Be sure to watch until the patron scroll starts on all of his and Voiceplay's stuff. It isn't always over as soon as you think it is.

Salaam, new subscriber. I just wanted to say I love your positive energy. Geoff and his group Voiceplay are incredible artists with incredible range. Geoff has a 5+ octave range and is constantly working on a technique called subharmonics. This technique allows him to hit some of these incredibly low notes you're hearing. One other technique he utilizes is called "growl notes", this technique also allows him to hit some incredibly low notes.

The cool thing is all those guys in the video is the same person, Geoff(prounounced Jeff) Castelucci. He is amazing singer and has an amazing range. His bass notes can hit bass subharmonics.
The real trick isn’t necessarily hitting the notes (naturally thick vocal chords or good extended vocal techniques) but making them sound good. Seems like there are three guys right now that most young bass singers really look up to. Geoff is one of them, also Avi Kaplan (used to sing with Pentatonix, now has his own solo channel going strong) and Tim Foust (sings with Home Free, but also has a solo channel). And there are some up-and-coming young bass singers worth checking out as well, but we’ll get to that.
Check out Avi Kaplan, solo and once bass for Pentatonix, and Tim Foust of Home Free ... both of whom have blown out speakers in concert. Tim Foust has done this same song with Peter Hollens. I dunno Avi's range, but Tim has a 5 octave range. Good listening.
Geoff plays all 4 roles. And not only does he have a 5-octave range, but he can sing lower than this. (See him in Voiceplay's version of Valhalla Calling - he reaches and sustains B0!)
You should check out the acapella group that Geoff is in, VoicePlay. They have wonderful covers of the Halo theme song, The Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim, and an absolutely beautiful cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. There are many wonderful VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci videos.
You wanna hear his range? There's several songs, but one of my favorites is "Oogie Boogie Song" with Voiceplay. At one point he covers several octaves in the course of ten seconds.
If you're a fan of Skyrim, Voiceplay (the group he is in) does a version of Dragonborn comes that you might enjoy. Also he does all the voices in this cover. All the other people in the video are him.
When I first heard this cover it took me almost half the song untill I realised that it was all was the same man. It is not my favorite song but I like it and it is always impressive what a range Geoff is able to sing.
So today was my first visit to your channel (your review on Nothing Else Matters brought me in), and I have to say that intro had me laughing so hard! Thank you for that laugh. I needed that today. :) Take a peek around Geoff's channel a bit more. He's a lot more than just an earthquake on two feet, I promise. 🤣 I think you'll enjoy it. And I hope to see you go further down the VoicePlay rabbit hole, too. They're an awesome group. May you enjoy the trip! ;)
Geoff has at least a five octave range. He can go really low and very high. He's my favorite singer and I look forward to seeing more of him on your channel 😊
Welcome to Geoffquakes... Geoff, Avi Kaplan and Tim Foust, as well as the members of Bass Gang are known for their "subterranean" notes and impressive vocal range. Ain't No Sunshine, Blackbird, and his recent "Sound of Silence" are just a few examples of #geoffCastelluci 's range. I'm fairly certain that if you got all of the aforementioned vocalists together and had them go to their lowest range, it would break the Richter Scale.
This was a good one to get introduced to Geoff(Jeff) you should check out the Acapella group he is in called VoicePlay and their rendition of DragonBorn comes.
Oooook your opening cracked me up, that was amazing lol… note added after your Skyrim comment- you must check out Geoff’s acapella group Voiceplay- they did Dragonborne Comes from Skyrim 😈
HEY, you wanted to explore new and amazing artists! Not a song I suggested but still it is Geoff making something beautiful of it. I did mention Ghostriders in the sky and the Metalica song Nothing else matters with the acapella group Voiceplay.
If you love Skyrim, Geoffs Acapella group VoicePlay did a pretty amazing cover of The Dragonborn Comes that I'd highly recommend. Also, man, that intro was epic! 😂😂
VoicePlay - which includes Geoff - did songs from Skyrim. Search UA-cam for VoicePlay Dragonborn. You are welcome. 😊 Also, VoicePlay just dropped Valhalla Calling from Assassin’s Creed. It’s Viking themed - obviously- but he hits B0, his lowest note, frequently in that one.
Hi, from a first time viewer. Your reaction tells me you're not familiar with recent Bass singer ascendancy. So, there's Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay a capella vocal group, also does these solo videos). There's also Tim Foust (of Home Free a capella vocal band, mostly Country). And also there are Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix a capella group) and even a group of international bass singers called The Bass Gang. I think Tim started it by showing off his monster low notes on the TV show The Sing Off. Geoff and others picked up on how people loved it and now... Bass-o-rama Geoff's videos are excellent; also check out Tim Foust on Home Free's "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Hillbilly Bones".
You’re a fan of Skyrim? Well. You should check out Voiceplay’s cover of “The Dragonborn Comes,” from that game. This guy is their bass singer, so you’ll be able to hear him blow the doors off another nifty medieval-looking set.
If I remember correctly, he hit G1 in this one but he can go even lower to a B0 I think it was his cover of Halo. I think I remember from somewhere that he has hit even lower than that but not consistently / on record / enough to sing it like this. He has a solo channel which is the one you just reacted to as well as an acapella group Voiceplay who are also fantastic. Sub to both, you will absolutely not be disappointed
Yes Geoff is on another level, also while he's known for his low notes he has actually got a pretty amazing range he can cover. If your a Skyrim fan then you have to cover Voiceplays the dragonborn comes, which Geoff is part of, they love to get into character and go all out on costumes, lighting and scene designs for their songs.
Aight, I haven't even watched the whole video, but that intro had me ROLLING XD. I don't have the disposable income to support on patreon or anything, but you definitely earned a subscription
Geoff and a few other can get so low, they don't get picked up by regular recordings. You really have to be there live to hear how low that they can get. I forget which of them it was, but TV had to Autotune them up so the sound would play in the TV show they were o otherwise it was just a silent spot.
The real funny part is, he actually can go several notes lower than this 😅
"Oogie Boogie's Song". Sub-harmonics ;).

Please react to "Man of constant sorrow", and "Ring of Fire" (feat. Avi Kaplan) from Home Free :_) Thanks"
If you like Goeff showing off his range... you need to check out more of his solo stuff, but also his group work with the group Voice Play.
Can not wait to see your reactions to him and possebly Voiceplay 🙂
Oooook your opening cracked me up, that was amazing lol… note added after your Skyrim comment- you must check out Geoff’s acapella group Voiceplay- they did Dragonborne Comes from Skyrim 😈
He is also part of the group voice play, I would love to see you react to their version of Golden Hour
Mr Geoff is the bass of a group called VoicePlay. They have a Skyrim cover for you, if you are interested…
HEY, you wanted to explore new and amazing artists! Not a song I suggested but still it is Geoff making something beautiful of it. I did mention Ghostriders in the sky and the Metalica song Nothing else matters with the acapella group Voiceplay.
Haha. On my notes I only had Roelof and Low Bass Singer. I didn’t note down the name of the song 😅.
You have excellent taste!
Hey Roelof recommend some VoicePlay too (Geoff’s acapella group)
Salaam Aleikum! Ramadan Kareem Mubarak. LOVED your introduction bit on this ... I was rolling with laughter!! Always enjoy your reaction videos, man.
Thank you!
I just got here, love your reactions! Have you seen Song of Durin? A great one too.
You should check out Marwan Ayman, who is 19 years old, from Egypt. He's a member of "The Bass Gang," (also check them out), and is a real prodigy.
Will do!
Thanks!
If you love Skyrim, Geoffs Acapella group VoicePlay did a pretty amazing cover of The Dragonborn Comes that I'd highly recommend.
Also, man, that intro was epic! 😂😂
Great reaction, you should check out the group he is in VoicePlay and their cover of Skyrim Dragon born come ❤
VoicePlay - which includes Geoff - did songs from Skyrim. Search UA-cam for VoicePlay Dragonborn. You are welcome. 😊
Also, VoicePlay just dropped Valhalla Calling from Assassin’s Creed. It’s Viking themed - obviously- but he hits B0, his lowest note, frequently in that one.
You would love Voiceplay's version of The Dragonborn Comes! You do realize that all of these characters are the same man!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Hey man, great reaction! I love Geoff and Voiceplay! I really dig dig your humor man! I just subscribed.
YEYY!
One G1 sub
One G1 full chest
One G1 very breathy chest
This man is insane
You’re a fan of Skyrim? Well. You should check out Voiceplay’s cover of “The Dragonborn Comes,” from that game. This guy is their bass singer, so you’ll be able to hear him blow the doors off another nifty medieval-looking set.
Just dropped a Voiceplay reaction. The Dragonborn Comes is ABSOLUTELY on the list.
HAHA this reaction is perfect!!
If you just want more Geoff, check out his cover of The rains Of Castameer
Aight, I haven't even watched the whole video, but that intro had me ROLLING XD. I don't have the disposable income to support on patreon or anything, but you definitely earned a subscription
Geoff and a few other can get so low, they don't get picked up by regular recordings. You really have to be there live to hear how low that they can get. I forget which of them it was, but TV had to Autotune them up so the sound would play in the TV show they were o otherwise it was just a silent spot.
My son’s favourite song
You EARNED that like with your intro. :)
You love Skyrim so you should check out Voiceplay's The Dragon Born Comes. I'd love to see your reaction to that!
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Geoff Castellucci. XD
I love when you speak arabic! 😃
