Just remember not to stand up if something they do shocks you into movement. There's already been one reactor that showed off his boxers during a Voiceplay reaction!
I kinda hate to break this to you, but the guys do almost everything themselves. Usually Geoff and Layne alternate on the arrangements. (Layne is responsible for almost all their Halloween videos, including this one.) The one doing the arrangement also does the costuming, set, direction, the video editing and all but the final audio. (That’s done by Ed Boyer, one of the best in the business for acapella.) Eli started doing the lighting a few years ago, and has gotten quite good. He is also responsible for their virtual backgrounds, such as they used for Valhalla Calling. They usually include Rick Underwood when they need makeup. And Geoff’s wife Kathy is their Production Manager. I would suggest reacting to Layne’s arrangement of Hall of the Mountain King. His wild imagination takes a song with no words and tells a fanciful story. One other thing - when you do react to Halo, be sure to let it run completely through Scott’s outro. You’ll learn a lot about the group and the reason they chose that song to do. I love your reactions!
This is one of four videos they've done based on the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. Kidnap the Sandy Claws, This is Halloween, and What's This? are the others. I also recommend Just Sing. Be sure to turn the closed caption on for the explanations of who everyone is. You'll learn that "Sandy Claws" in this video is played by Pasquale Pallazzolo, who I think is Geoff's wife Kathy's brother.
You are perhaps my favorite reactor to watch right now. Your enjoyment is clearly genuine and mirrors my reaction the first time i heard all of these songs. Extra props for sending people to their patreon.
It's them. Geoff and Layne do the arrangements. Eli does the lighting and Santa's voice. Santa is Geoff 's brother-in-law. Kathy, Geoff 's wife, does the production with Pattycake Production, which is Layne. They're pretty spectacular ❤
Pattycake Productions is actually co-owned by Layne Stein and Tony Wakim -- who is a former member of VoicePlay (2011-2016), when he stepped away from the singing in order to put more attention into making the video company really work.
Instead of throwing beers, try their version of Tennessee Whiskey! Warriors is great and follow up with Dream On. It came later but Geoff calls it Warriors 2.
VoicePlay's decision to remain unsigned (they've had offers) in order to retain full creative control of their work is part of why I love them so devotedly. So yeah, they do everything from song selection to arrangement to filming and editing the videos, to initial sound engineering. Everything you see and hear is the vision of those guys- they are calling all the shots, and I respect that so much. I really enjoy your reactions to Geoff and VoicePlay; the joy on your face while you listen to the guys making amazing music makes me smile as well. There's no other group out there quite like VoicePlay, and it's so cool that you get that, too. Subscribed, because you obviously love them as much as we do, and VoicePlay fans stick together. 🥰
From the credits on Oogie Boogie song: Arrangement: Layne Stein. Either Layne or Geoff do most of their arrangements, though it is sometimes another member, or someone else entirely. Try their 'Wicked' medley. That's one Geoff did the arrangement on, and it's awesome.
did you notice the gummy worms come out of Geoff's mouth when he sang "snake and spider stew" Lots of little things make up the whole The fact that they do almost all of it themselves is why they stand out in their genre and basically should not be compared to the other two "greats" - NO haters please - All 3 are Great for different reasons
An especially nice thing about VoicePlay's videos is that they always make sure to fully describe who's doing what in their description. So you'll be able to see who their guest artist is (if they have one), who arranged the music (almost always either Layne or Geoff), who did costumes, lighting, makeup, sets, camera, etc. It's something I wish that the other a cappella groups did as well.
EEEEEKkk! Another great reaction!!! But i guess i am late to the party to tell you to strip down 😂😂😂 Hopefully you're convinced now that everything and we mean everything is done by them and sometimes involves their families here and there. Boy bands in 5 minutes has Eli, Geoff and Laynes wives as well as Earls husband in 1 part of the video. I love your reactions and a heartfelt thank you once again for your reaction! ❤
The coffee boy?🤣 I love your Geoff/Voiceplay reactions. I didn't know you beatboxed!😎 Then you'll really appreciate Show-Go. Voiceplay's beatboxer, Layne, arranged this song and story. He sings, beatboxes, plays the violin, films some of Geoff's solo videos… Seriously talented and underrated. Geoff gets the spotlight, but Layne deserves it, too. Looking forward to the next one.
This is by far the best reaction video to their version of Oogie Boogie song. You had the exact same reaction as I did….cursing and all. It’s like how can you not be impressed, jealous, amazed, and down right flabbergasted all a the same time when you hear Geoff go from belting out notes in the 5th octave and dropping down to subterranean pits of awesomesauce in a matter of seconds.???!!! You can’t help it. /sigh. Keep up the great reactions, can’t wait to see more of them. In shallah
You are wonderful to watch when reacting to Voiceplay and Geoff. Well, it's not exactly all them - It's usually Geoff or Layne. Whoever does the arrangement almost always does the storyboard, production, plans the set, costumes, makeup, and does the editing. Final mix is done by Ed Boyer, who I understand also works with Home Free and Pentatonix, but don't quote me on that one. Eli does the lighting and effects, and for Valhalla Calling designed and created the set which was produced on giant LED screens. Remember what I said, when you do HALO you must watch the outro. Really! And Voiceplay's new one should be out in a week or so, already released to Patrons. لقد استمتعت بتجربة الأداء الخاصة بك ، وهنا آمل أن يكون Voiceplay معجبا مثلي.
Fantastic reaction to a fantastic song 🙂. Really really loved it. 🙂 As others already explained, they do pretty much everything themselves (and with some members of their families: Kathy Castellucci is their Production Manager, for example). Even the place where they record most of their videos, Pattycake Productions, is co-owned by Layne and Tony Wakim, a former member of Voiceplay who left to focus on that kind of business. 🙂 You can find all the details about who did what in the description of their videos. It's always interesting. 🙂 I'm so happy that they captured you so much. They have the same effect on me. 😁 Can't wait for your next one. Oh, and I totally agree with the suggestions about Halo Theme: the outro, albeit long, is an absolute must. You'll know them better, after it. As human beings (yes, they ARE human 😉). See you next time!
Awesome reaction. I guess you're getting naked 😉 These guys are independent and do everything themselves from start to finish. Layne and Geoff the arrangement, direction, production, costumes, editing, set design, props, etc. On other words they switch back and forth. This was Layne's baby. Rick Underwood does their makeup unless its super simple like Nothing Else Matters. Several different camera guys switch off on that. Ed Boyer does their audio mixing. Eli does the lighting. And sometimes background designs. Like in My Mother Told Me and Valhalla Calling. Layne usually does camera for Geoff on his solo channel. But most times it's just Geoff and his wife Kathy. Who is Production Manager for both Voiceplay and Geoff. She also does the behind the scenes videos for them and Pattycake Productions. Owned by Layne and former member Tony Wakim. Who do everything themselves including writing the songs, lyrics and scrpts of their videos. All but a couple are Disney movie characters. Including a few about the Villains. All these guys are amazingly talented.
I am always here for VoicePlay and Geoff. Yes, ir's an obsession. :) Great reaction. The arrangement is usually done by either Layne or Geoff which inclued the visualisation, like a story board. . Whoever does that does the musical arrangement. the filming, in the earlier ones- they do hire camera operators now when possible - then whoever dod the arrangement does the editing, puts it all together. They always list everyone involved, often with humorous comments, in the MORE section under the title. so you can always see who did what.
I love them and their quirks. They like playing and doing the work so that playfulness comes out as absolutely tasteful. Thank you for this reaction, it really mirrors mine the first time I heard their singing and watched their performances. And yup, I’m afraid that’s all them 🤓
They did four from the Nightmare Before Christmas. The others are This is Halloween (another favorite), What’s This, and Kidnap the Sandy Claus. This one was such a surprise because of Geoff’s vocal acrobatics. That last note was the first time they had used a subharmonic in a video. And yeah, it’s all them. Very occasionally Rob Dietz does an arrangement. He does their Minis and Top Tens. For elaborate makeup, the rely on Rick Underwood of PattyCake Productions (co-owned by the beatboxer Layne and prior baritone Tony). Ed Boyer does the final mix, as he does for other a capella groups. But the rest, including concept, filming and video is all them. Looking 👀👀👀 forward to your next reaction 🫣😱🤣!
I love these reactions ❤ it was probably already mentioned but they will usually put in the description who did the arrangement, art & direction, etc for each video
90% of the time, the one who arranged the song also is the creative director of the video. Sometimes one of the others has a better idea for the video, and then that person does the creative direction instead.
Always enjoy your reactions, your facial expressions especially at the end were hillarious & love hearing this song again, look forward to more VP & Geoff
😂😂 it's totally them! 😂😂😂 This was my introduction to VoicePlay and I just never looked back! They just keep getting better and better, though they've always been good. I'm loving your reactions! ❤
I mean......the VoicePlay guys do love their coffee.....you may be on to something there. 🤣 Yet another great reaction. I'm really bad at suggesting other videos to watch because my recommendation is just yes. Yes. Watch them all. I'm looking forward to whatever you choose to react to next. 😁
You are hilarious, thank you for doing reactions. I have enjoyed your show each time. You are doing my two favorites, Angelina Jordan and Voiceplay and of course Geoff by himself.
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but VoicePlay did have one reactor join them for one of their videos. Elizabeth Zharoff of the Charismatic Voice channel had a singing part in the collaboration video V P did with Lauren Paley, Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) Elizabeth provided the voice over for the swirling cloud of ghosts near the end of the video. Give it a look it's quite fun. This was an enjoyable and fun reaction, and I'm looking forward to many more.
this was my first experience with Voiceplay and Geoff Castelucci, it was all i needed to see in order to know that i wanted to hear more from them, oh so much more.
I've been watching this so often and it is still one of my favorites. It shows all of the skills that makes VP so incredible. Look in the description and you will see who is resposible for the video. 😉It's them with a little help. Makeup is usually made by Rick Underwood and Mixing by Ed Boyer.
I was waiting for you to do this one! And am looking forward to you having to sit there naked on your next reaction! Just kidding. But they do it all themselves except elaborate makeup and camera work. This is one of the funniest reactions ive ever seen. Thank you for the great laughs.
This is so good!! One of the very best reactions I have seen!! Maybe when you do your naked reaction you can show only your head. I truly look forward to your reactions because you are so enthusiastic. Cannot wait for your next one. Thank you for a fantastic reaction!
The man playing Sandy Claws is Geoffs' brother-in-law. They sometimes use family members as extras. Cesar is the one who brings them coffee. ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=voiceplay+welcome+cesar+. It's how he got to be a member. They do all their own stuff.
If you loved the neck cracking, then you need to watch Geoff do his cover of "Monster Mash." You should watch some of VoicePlay's early music...shorts and longer songs. They do a couple of Disney inspired ones...Once upon a dream and Grim Grinning Ghosts which are fun to watch. Love everything they do...even the opera, like Phantom of the Opera (ft. Rachel Potter) and In the Hall of the Mountain King. VoicePlay just keeps getting better and better at everything they do! Love your reactions...keep it up 😂
Have finally subscribed, after watching your reactions for some time. Mostly because Angelina Jordan, Geoff and Voiceplay are currently some of my personal favorites. I had checked to see if you had looked at a Pakistani band (Soch) that had as a guest vocalist an 8 yr old girl that is on a level with Angelina. They are doing a Sufi inspired piece that is beautiful. Fortunately it is subtitled in English, because the wonderful lyrics are in Urdu or Punjabi. I've never been able to get through it without weeping.
I'm so glad you got to this one, I knew it'd blow your mind apart! And yeah prepare to get naked bro, because it is pretty much all them doing everything XD they're so damn talented in so many ways that its kind of infuriating that they are that good at what they do
Normally its Layne or Geoff with Eli helping out sometimes. The person who arranges also directs, are in charge of costumes and edits. You can find all this info in the description Eli also does the lighting and effects. Cesar provides the coffee 😂
Ah, you might want to grow your beard out, for when you do the next one naked. I don't think most of us will hold you to that, as we enjoy you being freaked out by Geoff's incredible range far too much. They love Halloween covers, and go all out on makeup, costume and set design, to the extent that you might not be able to recognise who is who until they sing.
Oh, and don't do a reaction naked. We already had one reactor forget he wasn't wearing pants (did have on boxers fortunately) jump up and walk out on Hoist the Colours. The first thing he said when he started recording his reaction to this one was that he WAS wearing pants, we didn't have to worry!
I love your reaction to Geoff going from his high registers to an E1 subharmonic. His range is sick. All the guys in Voice Play are outstanding singers. They are just the best.
Caeser brings them their coffee. That's why they made him a member. UA-cam won't let me post the link but search for the video of them announcing Caeser as a permanent member.
I always come back to this reaction when I need a good laugh! You know it's good when a reactor either almost throws their headphones across the room or goes off into a giggle fit in another language. Love your reactions to Geoff and Voiceplay!
Better get ready for the next reaction naked... it's all them, their imagination, talent, production etc.. the mixing is done by Ed Boyer and they bring in make up artists but the rest is them..... looking forward to the next one... I've been married nearly 40 years... be nice to see a younger man. 😂😂😂😂
A friend showed me this video. Luv this guy, had me cracking up with the beat boxing, "happy puta boom" 😂🤣any spanish speaking ppl in here? I'll let u figure it out🤣🤣. Awesome reaction, your personality and humor is what people need 👍. Catching up on your other vids. Words/language are awesome!😅
This is the song where we get a complete demonstration of all *five* octaves in Geoff's vocal range. What a great group - what a great song - what a *great* cover. :D
Its them! lol Hope it's warm in your studio! 😂 Click on the Show more, it will tell you who did what. Usually the person that arranges does everything, but not always. They like to keep us on our toes.
You know the best song ever is THE CHICKEN SONG. It is from way back when they were younger and Goeff had short hair. This is done live and on stage. Please check it out!!
Well, if you want an out from the naked reaction… 😅 They do almost everything themselves except: there’s often others doing the camera work (same guy/s/ every time, though) and Ed Boyer does the final sound mixing. They usually do their makeup themselves unless it’s very complex, then it’s done by Rick Underwood. So you can use the camera men and Ed Boyer as an excuse for having clothes on 😂.
Actually I just checked the credits for Oogie Boogie and it’s an exception from other VoicePlay videos, in that there are a lot of others involved: There are many production assistants and the set design and costuming are made by others too. But most other videos you’ll see of VoicePlay it’s all them except camera and mix.
You have got to check out carry on wayward son, bang, and butter. They had so much fun in those videos. Also I will survive and man in the mirror are so good.
Looks like i'm getting naked...
hahahaha... yep, it's all them.
Just remember not to stand up if something they do shocks you into movement. There's already been one reactor that showed off his boxers during a Voiceplay reaction!
😂😂😂
"Ana Bishla7" XD

I kinda hate to break this to you, but the guys do almost everything themselves. Usually Geoff and Layne alternate on the arrangements. Oh man, the way your brow raises at 5:29 as the E1 kicks in… I love it!
This is the one that sent me down the VoicePlay rabbit hole. I still haven't recovered from that final 15 seconds.
I hear that note in my head throughout the day when I think about it, BUT I can't make it, it is INFURIATING
@@ArabManReacts Listening again months later. I'm still crying I'm laughing so hard.

YEY!
I second what Nate says ☝️💚
Why do I laugh so much with your faces, comments, sidekick, beatboxing and editing? (With you, not of you :P)
hahahaha GOOD!

VoicePlay's decision to remain unsigned (they've had offers) in order to retain full creative control of their work is part of why I love them so devotedly. So yeah, they do everything from song selection to arrangement to filming and editing the videos, to initial sound engineering.
Well, that, and he sings okay. ;)
That was the best video to watch before going to bed. We should do a special on just Cesar De La Rosa
@@ArabManReacts I'm here for it!
love your reactions its always a joy to watch them they do everything themselfs and santa is played by geoffs brother in law
And Santa’s voice is done by Eli.
And yeah prepare to get naked bro, because it is pretty much all them doing everything XD they're so damn talented in so many ways that its kind of infuriating that they are that good at what they do
Your comment on the high to low notes is covering his 5, yes FIVE, octave range. You can count it as I do every time I listen to it.
What a wonderful reaction- thanks!
Normally its Layne or Geoff with Eli helping out sometimes. The person who arranges also directs, are in charge of costumes and edits. You can find all this info in the description
Eli also does the lighting and effects.
Love your reaction, thank you!!❤
LOL. Pretty sure UA-cam is gonna shut you down after next reaction to Voiceplay because, yeah, it’s them. I love your reactions! So funny!!
I'm really looking forward to your next video 😆🤣
noooooooooooooooooooooo :( hahaha
Oh, and don't do a reaction naked. We already had one reactor forget he wasn't wearing pants (did have on boxers fortunately) jump up and walk out on Hoist the Colours. The first thing he said when he started recording his reaction to this one was that he WAS wearing pants, we didn't have to worry!
loll
And it wasn't this one, it was Valhalla Calling. Oopsie.
I love your reaction to Geoff going from his high registers to an E1 subharmonic. His range is sick. All the guys in Voice Play are outstanding singers. They are just the best.
This is so much fun!
Caeser brings them their coffee. That's why they made him a member. UA-cam won't let me post the link but search for the video of them announcing Caeser as a permanent member.
does caesar need an assistanttttt?
@@ArabManReacts 🤣🤣
@@ArabManReacts Now that he's a member, they will need a coffee assistant replacement. You're good to go.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just for this comment I think ima do it, I have to now!
@@ArabManReacts looking forward to it....😉😉
Voiceplay has a new cover out. Seven Nation Army. Fabulous!
Awesome reaction! =)
What a fun reaction! New subscriber here!
YEY!
Thank youuuuuuuuu (and thanks for watching more than one video and for taking the time to comment
This is the song where we get a complete demonstration of all *five* octaves in Geoff's vocal range. What a great group - what a great song - what a *great* cover. :D
‘I need a cigarette’ Exactly
Its them! lol Hope it's warm in your studio! 😂 Click on the Show more, it will tell you who did what. Usually the person that arranges does everything, but not always. They like to keep us on our toes.
Hahahahaha
Where are you? I need to hang out with you while you listen to VoicePlay/Geoff. It's just not human, in the best way possible.
So you can use the camera men and Ed Boyer as an excuse for having clothes on 😂.
hahaha maybe i'll use that as an excuse
Actually I just checked the credits for Oogie Boogie and it’s an exception from other VoicePlay videos, in that there are a lot of others involved: There are many production assistants and the set design and costuming are made by others too. But most other videos you’ll see of VoicePlay it’s all them except camera and mix.
Forgot to include the name of that piece by Soch the band it's "Bol Hu".
You have got to check out carry on wayward son, bang, and butter. They had so much fun in those videos. Also I will survive and man in the mirror are so good.
Best Voice Play reaction yet!
You should check out Ren - Animal Flow that he released yesterday. With those beatboxing skills you're gonna have a blast singing along. ;-)
ouffff fresh REN Yes Please!
You are such fun !
GREAT reaction man.
As a curious thin it seems to be the first time geoff does subarmonics in this video after he saw o heard about them.
When you react to their Halo theme, watch through to the end, please.
Awesome reaction!!
YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO GEOFF SING, "THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN"
Click on the more and it will drop down who does what and you will see how much they all do.
I love your reaction on this!!!!!!
You need to see The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
I probably should
The high to low is B4 to E1 (not his highest or his lowest).
