Flew over here in 2021 in a 1961 Piper Cherokee on its 60th birthday. This aircraft based at nearby Sibson Airfield reg G-LIZI. Polebrook was nearly developed instead of nearby Molesworth which is reported as closing.
Very nice flying Ian. We had a meet up at the Thor Missile site with members of Drone Seekers International a few weeks ago. Check out our local member, Kim - Discovering History on UA-cam. He's made some great videos on the history of WW2 sites in the area, including the Thor site.
All comes down to money and how much needs to be spent ?? Where I live in the New Forest they just got £3 million and that's just for one control tower !
Thank you. My father served here.
Terrific video -- thanks for posting! My dad & several uncles served in WW2, and I'm in awe of what those millions who served did.

Fantastic. Excellent survey.
Thank you the Airfield is less than a mile to where I used to live as a young boy.

Why not remodeling or fix it up for historical
I totally agree. I used to see the Thor Missiles first hand from my bedroom window in the 60’s:
@@ianfromcorby they should do that all over world so people can learn about the historical place and etc

@@RJM1011 it will be nice if world donated money to help restore everything for historical events to view or something like that
