A cop comes up behind a car that's going 25 mph on a busy interstate. He pulls it over and contacts the driver who appears to be in his 90s. There are several passengers in the car and they appear to be in shock. The cop asks, "Sir, why are you driving so slow?" The old guy says, "Young man I always drive the speed limit. There are signs all along here that say 25.' The cop replies, "Sir those signs mean that you are on Interstate 25. Why do your passengers look so shook up? " Someone replies from the backseat, "We took Highway 119 to the interstate!"

Yes Sue, that is a hang from the ceiling lamp, likely came from a commercial setting - think movie theater or even government building. But when cleaned up it could be attached to a nice wooden lamp and made into a table lamp. Alex from Curiosity Inc is a master at rejuvinating old chrome on vintage cars. That funny white pitcher is excellent for drinking soup kicked back in a recliner with your feet up! Love that candlestick holder!

Red Rose used to sell their tea with collector pieces in every box. They also used to have 'collections'. Sadly, Red Rose has stopped that tradition. Guess it's their way of cutting costs (while the price goes up) Now you have to mail in a request. - BTW Sue, that's a hanging lamp.
I loved that lamp so much I did a little Google search. What I saw is that it could well be a Silvray ceiling fixture from the 1930s designed by Morris B. Beck. It would have had a half chrome light bulb to complete the look. What a find!
He does. I go traipsing around the neighborhood, collecting him from whichever porch or patio he has decided to camp out on. And when he does come home, he rolls around on our patio waiting for me to go out and carry him inside. He expects it - as if he's royalty awaiting his sedan chair... 😸😸😸
Yes, he's done that before. I tell him what a brave hunter he is and then I dispose of the "present" when he's not looking. I respect the fact that he is giving me a gift, but I sure wish he would stick to chasing flies instead of cute little chipmunks... 😸😸😸

I like the flying saucer lamp...very cool! I think you'll be able to find a light bulb on the 1000 bulbs website - you probably already know about that company. If not, I usually find my hard to find bulbs there. The word of the day, further and farther is a good choice for people to understand. Another word problem many people get stuck on is the difference in spelling and meaning of there, their, and they're even though they sound alike it might be a good word lesson to discuss...just a suggestion.
I have used that company before - I like the fact that have bulbs from the major manufacturers, making it likely the bulbs will be available for the foreseeable future. 😊
Finally someone else knows the difference between farther and further! My mom taught me that and it drives me crazy to hear those used incorrectly. Thank you! Also I really love that cat tail! Have a beautiful day girl!
Those toppers are very very cute . Great deal for 2.00 . Love his tail how he moves it so fancy lol my dogs tail is so dangerous when he is happy lol which is alot well when he isn't asleep lol. Thank you for sharing Sue 👍🌞 have a wonderful couple of days ❤
Sue you are looking happy today with your bud Audie! My black cat Licorice use to leave little hairs behind too, tickled my face with his tail. Took a little while to remove all the little hairs that always made my nose itchy. Sue your shopping trip was a success lovely pieces. The little teapot figurines would go great in a fairy garden scene also but are going to look great on tidbit trays. I learned something new today because I never heard of the cup used to feed people. Wonderful having tea with you started my day off just right so thanks have an awesome day and tell Audie thanks also because he adds a warmth to the show. Love and God Bless 👵🇨🇦
Rest assured, Sue, I very much doubt that the invalid cup ever held anything thicker than warm tea, water, or clear broth. My grandmother nursed prior to, during, and after the first world war, my mother and aunt (her sister) before, during, and after the second world war, we had all that paraphernalia in our home. I have even had the pleasure (?) of drinking from one of those cups. ;-)
The whole serves the purpose because it's the porcelain shrinks 20% in the kiln the piece would explode if you didn't have a way for the air to escape as it gets heated up. The only other way you could seal that hole is you could feel it but you'd have to put a pinhole and a couple different places to allow air to escape. The reason why I know this I made antique reproduction porcelain dolls and modern reproduction porcelain dolls and if you had anything that was sealed it would explode the kilm
When we moved into our house the whole neighborhood was terrorized by Chipmunks. My neighbor catty corner from my house and she was in her eighties was put out her new plant in her garden and the Chipmunks would eat them in 2 seconds. I was having trouble with Chipmunks in the yard but are pet cats must have scared them away I never found any dead ones but I never found any more holes that I can turn my ankle in and the neighbor quit having her garden ransacked by The Chipmunks. They're cute and so are rabbits but if you have a garden outside you don't think they're so cute with the destruction they cause... And of course if I saw them with a live chipmunk and I rescued baby rabbits away from the cat but I think the Hof moved into the neighborhood and help out the neighbors with the rodent population
Good morning Sue! Love the toppers for the tidbit trays. Also, I like the explanation of farther and further. There are so many words that are misused. Would be fun to end your videos like you did today with new words people confuse. Have a wonderful day! 🌻
YES, I second that idea!!! Let's start with then and than. In comments I never see anyone use the proper one. Almost makes me think I'm wrong (but I'm not 😃)
Sue, I forgot to ask you where you find your miniature porcelain spoons for the conditment trays. I have a few sets but of course no spoons!!! You may have already check your messages, so I will check in with you tomorrow.
Funny I looked at it as a wonderful item to have rather than trying to spoon feed someone and it going everywhere. You put this in the person's mouth tip it for a second and let them swallow then tip it for another second let them swallow the soup or whatever you have in there. Many people have had a stroke can't even choose so maybe they mashed up the soup and watered it down a bit... I know trying to feed a baby baby food they spit half of it out so if someone has had a stroke and no control over their mouth it might be hard to spoon feed them. Plus if you're in a nursing home and you have a lot of patience to feed this may be a way to an able you to feed everyone on your floor
Hi Sue, I enjoy your videos. The first thing I noticed about you is that you speak properly. I feel a powerful zing straight up my spine when I hear video hosts speaking improper English. Then, I saw your video re grammar and the correct usage of apostrophes. Did you offer that video because you’ve received one too many comments written using incorrect grammar? Do you get zings? I do enjoy your video content too and thank you for speaking as an educated lady.
Love how Audie hugs you with his tail! Those tidbit trays are going to be just delightful! The toppers match perfectly with the plates! I recently learned of invalid feeders. I have a small one with a floral design on it in my eBay store. I thought it was a small teapot from a child’s set. Another ebayer sent me a message to tell me it was actually a child size invalid feeder. I had some disturbing images play out in my head after hearing that!
Why can't it just be a concerned family member gently helping someone eat something? A pour spout doesn't bring images of forcefeeding to me. Something with a pump or plunger would.
Yes, and sometime just for liquid. I remember a playmate‘s invalid grandfather with Parkinson’s who drank his tea from a small tea pot. As a 6 year old I found it odd, but he was such a lovely person I never questioned my mother about why he did that odd thing. I was very proper in the 50’s. Not so much anymore.
Red Rose tea used to give away tiny Wade figures, some were just animals but some were figures from nursery rhymes, like wee willy winky with his nightgown and candlestick. I saved them and they nicely filled a wooden spice rack, but I also have a lunch bag of chipped duplicates. You see them for sale sometimes in flea markets and such for a buck or two. I had a bunch of those little teapots too but gave them to the granddaughters years ago.. One was a sewing machine table, another was a garden workbench, as I recall. Then there were little houses as well. They were all cute. 😊
Lisa.......Your right about it hanging from the ceiling. If it were a table lamp, the light wouldn't be above the shade and I think I saw two screw holes on the base....
Hi Sue! Love your videos, I too am concerned about your cat outside. Sounds like you live in a high traffic area! And what chipmunk is unable to hear that bell? LOL
I worry about Audie, too - fortunately, he is afraid of cars and runs the other way whenever he hears one coming. And he has caught mice, voles, rabbits, birds and a few things I couldn't identify while wearing that string of four bells, and occasionally while wearing a red, white and blue flashing light on his collar. (The neighbors tell me he looks like a police cruiser with those flashers - though one said he looks like a low-flying UFO.) Either the neighborhood critters are incredibly slow-witted or my little ninja-kitty is exceptionally quick... 🐱👤🐱👤🐱👤
I think they did both as giveaways. Apparently people collected these little teapots because I went looking for them online and found some fairly good sized collections. 😊
Hiya Sue, love that lamp, does look like a ceiling lamp due to the undersides not being finished- *fantastic* & quite the deal! Yep, prob gravy or sauce, only time I’ve seen a teapot on a tray is a bigger tray w/ creamer & sugar. Those little teapots are Wade Whimsies from Canada- vtg, but think 90s vtg. You talk to Audie like I talk to my babies only mine answer back in “hooman” voices😉! Smooches & hugs to you & Audie! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️ PS just sent message.
I love the UFO light! Flying saucers 🛸 remind me of one of my favorite Far Side Cartoons, two aliens 👽 buzzing a crowded city street yelling YeeHaw! 🤣🤣. I would love to see a color changing led bulb used in that, I wonder if they make a longneck led bulb? I can’t wait to see what you create with it!
it was my fave too until they decided to stop putting in the lil ceramic pieces i have several of those and never understood why they stopped . So I stopped buying red rose .
Hey sue! Another great video! I was wondering if you could talk about egg shell porcelian. I have antique egg shell porcelian that is so paper thin and I see pricing between $245 up to over $2000. I'm not quiet sure how to tell the difference in value but I know they are handpainted and antique. Orange characters underneath they are lavendar snack plates and tea cup sets (18). I saw they were around during the qing dynasty... I haven't seen any this thin before. Just found out they were called egg shell. I have 2 extra plates that dont have cups that I was going to send you for tid bit trays if you're interested. They are very pretty.
@@suemeonyoutube YAY!! Thank you so much! I thought your P.O. Box was in the body of the channel but I'm having trouble finding it. Could you let me know so I can send those 2 additional plates I have? I do not believe 2 plates missing the cups will be worth $500 haha just teasing! 🤗
I'm sure they were. And now that I have them all fitted up as tidbit tray toppers and lined up waiting for the trays, I am sorry I left a couple of them behind... 😀😀😀
She I’m wondering if your “tea pot for one” is actually for hot milk to go in coffee. I know Americans put “cream” in their coffee, but the colonial English in East Africa circa 1960 used to have hot milk with their coffee.
Oh my yes, it really could be just about anything - syrup, honey, cream for berries. The lid suggests it held something wither sweet or hot - the lid keeping the contents either warm or free of flies... 😁😁😁
I know you love your tippet trays but I think it's so sad to take that beautiful Azalea dinner plate or dessert plate and not make it available to someone who collects it as a serving case
Sue, I know you mentioned that you don't use books to look up items but I have a specific question about a Shawnee piece and am wondering how I find out how many different colors it was produced in. I can't find that information anywhere. Any ideas on where to search? I may pose the question to Jocelyn's Facebook group. Thanks!
Go to the Wikipedia entry for Shawnee Pottery and check the references at the bottom of the article. I don't know if those books will have what you are looking for, but they are probably your best shot at finding it. 😊
Hi Sue, I am a new follower and I caught a video of you sharing lots of info on vintage Barbie’s. I think I have one of those old Barbies. She has the ginger white with a bubble cut. She has a number 4 on her left butt but there is a problem: from her original pearl earrings , she has purple marks all around her ears. Do you know how I can remove those marks. She is perfect other than that. Thank you for any help you can give me. Oh, also I have lots of original outfits in perfect condition. Thanks for your time, Linda Boisvert
The clothing can be quite valuable. As for the marks around her ears, you can try RemoveZit from Twin Pines of Maine. Usually the problem is green stains, but RemoveZit has gotten rid of other stains for me, too. Good luck. 😊
Thank you so much for the info that you shared with me. I apologize regarding the color of the stains on my Barbie’s ears. The stains are not purple, they are green. I have no clue why I typed purple. Thanks again Sue. Linda.
I was thinking of starting to collect Polish Pottery. Do you think I’ll be able to find it in thrift stores or reasonable priced antique shops/booths? I haven’t really noticed any so far. I don’t know if I’m just not looking hard enough or is it going to be a lost cause. Aka too expensive
There is a little booth in Bedford Antiques that seems to specialize in Eastern European pottery. The next time I am there I'll check and see if the specific country is marked on any of those pieces. It looks Polish to me, but I wouldn't want to say for sure without a marking to back it up. So yes, I do think you will be able to find it. I would get a copy of the Polish - Latin alphabet conversion in order to at least be able to sound out the names of any markings you might find. The pottery is very pretty, and there is a Polish pottery outlet not far from me in Gettysburg. 😊
I think your flying saucer ceiling light fixture is smack dab in the American Art Moderne (1940s) movement. It is a commercial fixture and could have been found anywhere from a department store to an office building. Please do not convert it to a table lamp, please!
I am going to convert it, but I can do so in a way that will not damage the light in any way, and will allow the next owner to easily return it to a hanging lamp if they choose. Trust me - I know what I'm doing... 😀😀😀
Hi Sue I love your channel! I was wondering if you are going to go shopping with Jocelyn soon? I haven’t seen you over there and you are missed!!! So many viewers comment, “where’s Sue?!”
Ok, Red Rose tea used to put a Wade Whimsy in each box of tea. More recently as a promotion they put the newer teapots in their boxes of tea. Those little teapots are not as collectable....yet! lol. Curious question for you. I know you studied French yet you say “wallah” instead of “voila” as a French Canadian when I hear that it makes my teeth itch 😬
If I do, I am unaware of it. In fact, since my first language was Swedish, it's actually more likely to be the other way around - I am naturally inclined to substitute a "v" for a "w." But to be fair, I really cringe when I hear Canadians say "about" or "house," so I guess we all have our own pronunciation preferences. 😊
My shopping trips with Jocelyn are not a feature of the SueMe channel - never have been. So I think these questions are more appropriate for the Crazy Lamp Lady channel. 😊

Those tiny teapots used with tidbit trays are going to be incredible! I would love to get one but I’m in CA, I’m afraid it won’t make it.
I've lost things in shipping, but I on't think I've lost a tidbit tray yet... 😊
You are the best.I love you Audi too.
🎵 🎶🎵🎶It's only words but words is all I have🎶🎵🎶🎵
Sue your such fun!! 💖💖💖💖
Ah, The Bee Gees - an incredibly talented but underrated group of artists... 😊
Sue, I love your videos.😊👍🏻
Sue, I’m wondering if those little teapots came in boxes of Red Rose Tea.
Love that lamp
That lamp is going to be amazing when it's all dolled up and ready to go. 😁
Very cool, and I love my salt and pepper shakers. Thank you
Sue you are looking happy today with your bud Audie!
Have a great day off, Sue!
Almost makes me think I'm wrong (but I'm not 😃)
How about “which” and “that”?
Interesting lamp.
I'm a fan of your new color scheme for tidbit trays! How nice to have found it all in one shop!
Especially since that one shop has very low prices. 😁😁😁
Sue, I forgot to ask you where you find your miniature porcelain spoons for the conditment trays. I have a few sets but of course no spoons!!! You may have already check your messages, so I will check in with you tomorrow.
I hope you & Jocelyn get to go shopping soon! See you Wednesday!
Enjoyed the video and love the lamp. Thanks Sue!
* Oh, my. the Invalid piece would be great for Syrup.
You are such an awesome lady 😊❤️🇨🇦
Lol ...Sue, that Audie is such a lucky cat😊
Love how Audie hugs you with his tail!
Those tidbit trays are going to be just delightful! The toppers match perfectly with the plates!
I recently learned of invalid feeders. I have a small one with a floral design on it in my eBay store. I thought it was a small teapot from a child’s set. Another ebayer sent me a message to tell me it was actually a child size invalid feeder. I had some disturbing images play out in my head after hearing that!
I can relate - that brings some pretty grim images to mind, doesn't it? 😱😱😱
Why can't it just be a concerned family member gently helping someone eat something? A pour spout doesn't bring images of forcefeeding to me. Something with a pump or plunger would.
I think the invalid feeder was more likely for thick soups or broths. With the handle being the way it is they could probably hold it themself.
Well, just as long as no one was force-feeding some poor sick person... 😀😀😀
You always make me laugh, Sue! Thank you!
Some tea companies added small token gifts in their box of 100 tea bags.
For advertisement and people (like my mom) would collect them.
There were different series. I have animals.
Does the lamp have a switch? Otherwise,, it probably hung from the ceiling.😀
Lisa.......Your right about it hanging from the ceiling. If it were a table lamp, the light wouldn't be above the shade and I think I saw two screw holes on the base....
Oh yes, it was originally a ceiling lamp. But I think it will become a table lamp. 😊
Audie is so cute
Cats learn how to stalk without ringing their bells. Our cat caught too many birds in stealth mode.
Dear Sue
Could those tiny teapots be early wades whimsies? Red aRose does the animals now..nut maybe they stuck them in the teaboxes earlier?
Yes, the screw holes in the canopy (which will become the base) is the giveaway. 😁
SueMe - Odd as my 80s Wade Whimsies are solid. Found a page w/ values. I can’t even find the dragon I have! XXX J. 😘🧡😻😻
I NEED that lamp
I know plenty of Mid-Century collectors, so I know exactly what you mean - total Sputnik. 😀😀😀
Lol Sue, your Mothers lumpy gravy.
Good afternoon,Sue.
Maybe it's sippy teacup for clumsy people?😹
Maybe the next owner will use it that way. Or perhaps it will become a little watering pot of a window garden... 😊
This is great! i love the word of the day feature. Were you an English teacher in a previous life?
Red Rose is my favorite tea.
it was my fave too until they decided to stop putting in the lil ceramic pieces i have several of those and never understood why they stopped . So I stopped buying red rose .
phonelady61 yes, I got them free for a while by sending in UPC codes from the boxes, but they stopped doing that a few years ago.
Red Rose....only in Canada?! I remember those commercials. Relatives visiting us from England actually brought some back with them🤷♀️😜
Sure, I can talk about that... 😊
Could the tiny teapots be a give away with Red Rose tea?
That makes sense.
@@suemeonyoutube great idea. Couldn't think where to start.
Thanks for your time,
Linda Boisvert
SueMe Thank you so much for the excellent information! Lots of good advice I haven’t thought of. Thanks again and XOXO to Audie
I don’t know if I’ve asked you this before but do you ship to Canada 🇨🇦😊❤️
I do in my Etsy shop.
I know you studied French yet you say “wallah” instead of “voila” as a French Canadian when I hear that it makes my teeth itch 😬
yep that is the reason i stopped buying the red rose tea because in the usa they discontinued the wade whimsys .
When are you going out with Jocelyn again?? Love you together, such fun!
My shopping trips with Jocelyn are not a feature of the SueMe channel - never have been. So I think these questions are more appropriate for the Crazy Lamp Lady channel. 😊
