I immediately thought of this I'm so happy someone else made the connection
Kratos: "This is your choice son. I trust you."
Loki: *Puts on the mask and looks through the crack*
Kratos: 👁👄👁
Kratos : Aw shit ... booooooooooiiiiii !
Loki: You said you trusted me, you didn't say 'Don't look through the crack'.
this is actually technically cannon. here's the quote Anthony Burch: I very, very vaguely remember:
- I beat out a lot of the Loki/Odin plot arc and had them focusing on some sort of macguffin that represented Odin and Loki’s relationship
- Either myself or Matt Sophos...I’m almost sure it was Matt Sophos...suggested the macguffin should be a mask because Loki is searching for identity etc etc
I very specifically remember:
- Googling the The Mask mask, sending it to Matt and also concept art, and at some point later on summarizing the plot of the game as ‘ssssssomebody stop Odin’”
Amazing edit :)
I like how I rewatched this movie just yesterday
My favorite part of gow Ragnarok was when Atreus put on the mask and told Odin "It's party time! P-A-R-T-Y? Because I gotta!" Then shot him with his tommy guns.
I thought it was a coincidence, but The Mask really does refer straight to Loki. But even funnier, the movie The Mask has no real reference to Norse mythology, so it must have been entirely invented. And then, GOW adapts it into their faithful and thorough research of Norse mythology. Awesome
I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed this I knew it was strikingly familiar with the mask from the mask movie
thank bro, i was planning on wearing loki's mask tomorrow
I wish they had have made this a choice arc.
So that we could also learn the thruth
_SsssssssMOKIN'!_
It’s been two decades since I’ve watched this. WHY didn’t I ever put these two together??? Makes so much sense! 😂
Atreus after putting on the mask: ITS SHOW TIME!
If he put that mask on, he would’ve been too powerful for even Kratos to stop, lol.
yes but he might have been under Odin's control, then Odin and Atreus would both have killed Freya and Kratos
