The illusion that you don’t have a choice in any of this is what FIRES ME UP. I don’t care what you choose Mama, but I will support your right to choose for your child. Respect both your right to choose and another mom’s right to choose.
My brother got all his and would scream and cry for days afterward. Fussiness is a common side effect. What no one knew until he was almost 3 years old was he was crying because the shots caused an auto immune response where is blood vessels swelled and cut off blood supply to his vital organs. He was almost 3 and diagnosed with liver and kidney damage. My daughter is 2.5. She’s never had one because of this family history. If she ever gets one I want her old enough to tell me if something doesn’t feel right. She has thrown up and had a fever once in her entire life and it lasted less than a day. Despite being exposed to germs at daycare, the play centers at gyms, parks and stores. I’m glad this is an open space. I feel like so many are judged (on both sides) and like you said- we are just trying to keep our littles safe.
That is so fascinating! I choosed to vaccinate my LO, but it was a very hard decision. We live in UK-London- tube travels, etc- crowded places. We had to remove her from nursery because she was sick from may to September. I don’t want to say I regret my decision but I am sad I haven’t explored the delayed option. This is the first time I hear about it, so thank you for making this video!!
We have five, we did not make our decision lightly... the first received standard hospital injections of K & hep B unfortunately ,she had serious reactions. We were not planning to opt out because of that reason. But I will say it ignited a serious beginning of studying & researching..aggressively . We were not even warned of any possible side effects in the hospital. My husband and I still share studies and books to this day on this and we have had several pediatricians and general care doctors' point of views and inputs. My last four have had zero. They range in age from 13-2 yrs and they are the healiest kids no ear aches, no constant colds and flus, they have all had the flu once or twice (in their whole lives) but otherwise such healthy kids we feel so completely blessed and feel God led us to the right choice for our family.
Truth is that there are no guarantees. Nobody knows anything about long term effects. I decided to keep mRNA out of my body, in spite of the fact that I am in my late 60's. So far, I have not tested positive for Covid. The reports on athlete cardiac arrests or serious issues scares me. I can't recall a time when so many young athletes were experiencing heart issues.
Just here to say family doctors take children when pediatricians won’t see them for being unvaccinated. They’re wonderful alternatives and won’t push a vaccine schedule. Also, look into religious exemptions for school. There are ways around the heavily pushed vaccines and you don’t have to vaccinate if you don’t want to. 🙌🏾
We looked it up and found out that religious exemptions were allowed. We were afraid of what that would take so we looked up the process ... IT'S A SINGLE-PAGE FORM; you download it, sign it, and have it notarized. 🤦♂ And here we were, worried that it would take months, and necessitate proving religious affiliation (and maybe need a note from god 😂). So yeah, definitely look up your options!
Thank you for being brave and openly addressing this as a reasonable adult. All medical decisions need to be approached with care and honest diligence on the patient's part, not rubber stamped based on their politics. Thank you.
Thank you for posting this! I've watched several of your videos and really enjoy them. This video is very honest and was probably a little scary to post in a world where if you think a outside of mainstream, you risk being chastised. I am pregnant and have actually been reading the same book you recommended while looking at other resources. I am also a nurse practitioner in a high acuity ICU. I have hesitations both ways. Would hate to inject my child with something that could harm him and perhaps isn't even necessary, but also want to protect him against communicable diseases. Being in medicine, I have learned it is impossible for providers to stay up to date on all of the latest research, so we often recommend guidelines blindly. I feel better doing my own research and attempting to make educated decisions, but it is certainly very overwhelming. I think you're so right though. Everything we do is just out of love for our children. It's helpful to know I'm not alone with the hesitancy. I'm also shocked this video hasn't been taken down! It's hard to post anything controversial without it being taken down (I've tried haha). Thanks again for your bravery and useful content!
We’re pro-vaccine but super not judgmental about people who either don’t or do it delayed. I fully agree that everyone makes the choices they make for their children out of love. I don’t believe that anyone chooses any vaccine schedule maliciously or out of “stupidity” which I know other people sometimes think. At the end of the day, we all do what we feel in our gut is right for our kids.
Whew, I love that parents are willing to have this conversation (tactfully). After all, we all want the same thing, healthy kids! I have 3 and we haven’t given any. None have ever had to be on antibiotics, no ear infections, RSV etc. when they do get sick, they seem to bounce back much faster than their peers. I’m beyond grateful for their health 🙌🏽
Just one but same here. Almost three and gotten sick maybe 5 times and just fever and once was a stomach bug with vomiting. Bounces back in 2-3 days. Personally, I was a very sick child so I am very grateful for my girl’s health and the things I have learnt and about nutrition, toxins etc.
Thank you for sharing and being a voice for parents. In Connecticut these kinds of discussions are forbidden. You are considered a bad parent if you don't have blind faith in authority. My wife and I are being bullied by the staff at Yale for holding off until we feel well informed and ready to make a decision for our baby (6 weeks). He is a healthy baby boy that is loved and well taken care of.
We’re struggling in CT too. I’ve had friends be kept/investigated at the hospital because they turned down a shot. We had a super difficult time finding a pediatrician that would take my baby because we didn’t feel it was necessary to give her a Hep B shot at 3 days old. Since we didn’t give her those shots, she won’t be able to attend school in CT. It’s insane.
Thank you!! I would love to find a middle ground. I am pro-vaccine. My daughter got all of her shots on schedule. Now looking back, I wish I would have spoken up more to have them more spaced out. The pediatrician we had just steamed rolled me and wouldn’t really give space for me to speak up. We switched to a DO & now that we’re planning for a second baby I am looking for resources for alternative plans. So thanks for this video!
I was going with it at first but my intuition told me NO during the 2 month checkup watching my baby get injected, despite previously being into science having a B.S. degree. I read that book - the V friendly plan - and did loads of research while waiting for the 4 month, and I fully trust in how our bodies are made now. Personally, I will never get an injection for me or my family again. If others decide to that is totally up to them. That book is a great gateway into being more open minded, but in my opinion we need to honor our intuition as mothers over all else, which I don’t recall being a part of the book. Great job making a video on this incredibly important, yet for some reason ‘taboo’ topic. 👏👏
I agree with you! I also read that book and then research took me down the rabbit hole and my intuition just screams no despite having to have thousands of difficult conversations with my husband.
I have not met a parent that willingly wants to hurt their child. Both sides love their children❤ It’s so tough for sure! Love to everyone in the middle ground who is still unsure
We worked with our doctor to spread out our childrens' vaccines. We were very clear that we wanted our children to be vaccinated, but were concerned about the amount of chemicals they would receive in such a short period of time. We received a brief lecture, but they agreed to work with us. Yes, it meant more appointments, but it all went smoothly without adverse reactions.
Very brave of you to make this video! I have an MSc background in biological science and I was first very much in favour of vaccines and made really mean comments about people not giving them to their children. That was until I saw that they were giving baby’s of only 2 months old (or mother while pregnant) shots for Hepatitis B. I got the Hep B shot when I travelled to all kinds of unhygienic countries. I really didn’t understand why a 2 month should be vaccinated for Hepatitis B. That is when my search for information started. The trouble is, once you open the black hole of information, you become more and more confused. There are very strong arguments for both sides. And because there are such large interests at stake (economical, medical, political) you have no idea which information you can trust. My daughter is now 2 years old and has not had any shot at all yet (but she does still get the breast). My current opinion is that we won’t do all the shots, and delayed, but when we’ll start…
Thank you for sharing this! So many people used to speak disparagingly about “anti-vaxxers” and have now changed their minds. It was absolutely a propaganda campaign to convince everyone that all vaccines are safe and effective. My SIL once told me I was selfish for not vaxxing because I was killing other peoples kids. And now she’s changed her mind 😅
@@elsie6828 I have a friend who is a scientist and speaks that way but I didn't mention my stance because she doesn't have kids and we are not that close but may I know which statistic you are talking about? Is it the vax injured statistic or vax vs unvax and infection rate? Curious.
@@elsie6828 I'd like to know as well - the stats - my best friend has her masters in biology and is doing all of the vaccines, but I've always hesitated and would like more information if you'd be open to sharing? thank you so much!
@@annawilliamson2986 Wow! I came back to this thread to see that my previously-posted (very long) comment with statistics is gone! What to bother even saying, as there's apparently no point...perhaps start with the book Turtles All The Way Down and follow the footnotes from there 🤷♀️ Or see if there are good bibliographies/informatics on Children's Health Defense.
Delighted you did this video! I dr Paul’s book when I was expecting my first baby. His advice for parents with the MTHFR gene mutation was interesting so we have not given any vaccines to any of our kids. Both extremely healthy, no illness, but I do attribute a lot of that also to extended breastfeeding. ❤
@@kalarandazzo2691 If I remembered correctly, it's harder for people with MTHFR to remove toxins from the body and may cause delays in learning. Vaccines has chemicals such as formaldehyde, aluminium..etc.
How long did you breastfeed for? What is classified as extended breastfeeding? My friends some is nearly 5 and she breastfed him for 3.5 years, he also had no vaccines but he gets sick so regularly especially since lockdown.
Hey julie I am also planning not to vaccinate my baby iam due in feb. I have few questions how about in the hospital do they give vitamin k and Hepatitis b? How about polio vaccine ? Or did you just didn’t give any vaccines plz reply thank you
Shayla, thanks for making this video! We've vaccinated on schedule and had no reactions. Our little guy cries for a minute then cheers right up. That being said, not all families have that experience! I can see how parents with different circumstances than mine might want a different plan. I really appreciate how you shared your reasoning and resources, esp. for families who are on the fence about vaccines.
Agreed, everyone has different experiences with shots. I've heard of people who knew of people who died with COVID, however I don't know anyone, in fact I actually know 4 family members who were hospitalized after getting their shots or boosters, 2 coworkers passed away, one very healthy 30 year old family member had a heart attack, and a teenage family member needed a heart monitor for awhile, all after receiving their injections for COVID. It has completely soured my trust in the medical system and I'm absolutely open minded about everything now, especially considering the lack of proper child safety testing. Robert F Kennedy Jr's book was a huge eye opener and he's never been sued for his statements so that should also attest to their truth. It's a crazy, corrupt world we live in.
My daughter was vaccinated in schedule. We didn’t have any issues. I’ve even been on time with the flu shots until last year. She’s just starting middle school and here they don’t do middle school vaccines until 7th grade. Her pediatrician suggested that we go ahead with hers and not wait. My son was a preemie and our pediatrician recommended that we delay vaccines so we did. He’s 2 and back on schedule now and we haven’t had any issues. My kids pediatrician advocates for parents choice. She gives you all the info, makes suggestions, and lets the parent decide what’s best. I think it’s up to each individual family to decide what’s best for their kids. I will say that my son had RSV four times in one year. He was extremely sick the last time and had to be put on a nebulizar treatment for a month. And he got frequent ear infections and had to have tubes. My daughter has only had one ear infection her whole life and strep once. Each child is different.
I'm a very strong advocate for no vaccines. I have listened to countless hours of research, and the risks far outweigh the benefits in my opinion. I highly reccomend listening to The Truth About Vaccines doccuseries. So much information! Ultimately, we all just want to make the best informed decisions for our family and children!
Just wanted to drop my personal experiences. I have never regretted any of the vaccines I’ve gotten. I have regretted ones I didn’t get. My mom got me most routine vaccines. One of the optional ones was the HPV vaccine. Bc it was optional and she didn’t know much about it, she refused. Never thought much about it. Fast forward to me at 21 years old. I contracted HPV from a s exual partner that didn’t know they had it. Bc males cannot be tested for HPV. This caused cancer cells to develop on my cervix. I had to have many tests and operations to remove the cancer cells. One of the scariest experiences of my entire life. I’m glad I had a pap smear when I did bc if not, I would’ve never known. I had no symptoms. By the time they caught it I was a cin 2. Boarder-line cin 3. Which means my cervix was almost fully affected by abnormal cells. Luckily they were able to cut / carve out the cancer cells but I could’ve died ! So as an adult i got the vaccine to protect from future strains, just in case. For me, it was “better safe than sorry” bc i never wanna go through that again
Since we're talking about experiences, I would like to add to this. In my country (we live in the EU) this vaccine is given to kids at around 12-13 years. It is covered by the state, so finances aren't an issue, but it is one of the optional vaccines. My mom (a doctor btw, who also teaches medical ethics where they even discuss the morals of the risks unvaccinated healthy people present for weak immunocompromised people who cannot get vaccinated and similar intense stuff) talked with me about this gave me a choice about getting this vaccine. She basically told me what HPV is, how it is transmitted and that this vaccine didn't even protect against all strains, and basically told me that if I'm planning on being responsible, I may not need it and it's up to me to choose if I wanted it and I said no. First of all it helped me stick to my word in actually being responsible, but it also made me feel respected, especially since at that time I was terrified of needles I was so grateful she didn't force me to undergo something I truly didn't need if I planned on having a total of 1 sexual partner who had 0 before me. I know that sometimes even married men cheat, or unpredictable terrible things can happen, but in general, being careful can really push the likelihood of either down greatly and it's good to keep things like this in mind as well. If I have a daughter I will give her the same choice
@braria9855 You make the best point! It's a funny idea that people think they're respecting their bodies by letting any stranger use their body how they please, or keeping their body healthy by putting any junk into it simply because a guy with a degree (who is paid by big pharma) told you to do it. Your story is clearly much more empowered and informed than most people.
@@notme1255 not everyone wants to just have one sexual partner. And accidents happen. I’ve had condoms break while the guy was inside me on 2 separate occasions. I’ve also been sexually assaulted. I’ve also had partners cheat. You never know whats gonna happen in life. I trust doctors and although i agree its a personal choice, you can do all the right things and still have things happen
Every family should do what works for them. I'm personally okay with my kids getting 💉 for life-threatening diseases. We don't do them for flu or the big C. I never had the HPV vaccine and I don't plan of giving it to my kids either. But I don't judge other families for whatever decisions they make
My mom didnt give me the hpv vaccine and then i got hpv 🙃 I told her I wish she got it for me. I ended up doing it as an adult to protect me from the possibility of catching another strain. Hpv left me with cancer cells in my cervix and if i didnt catch when i did, i wouldve ended up with full blown cervical cancer. Obviously its your child and the choice is yours but i wanted to share my experience so that it could be taken into consideration
My LO is two, and we're doing the standard schedule. He hates the Dr office, but it doesn't seem to be because of getting shots. He barely seems to notice the shot itself. He just doesn't like the checkups. He's only been sick once. he had a slight cold. He's never had any bad reactions to the shots. I remember our Dr asking if we wanted the standard or delayed schedule and seemed totally non-judgmental about it.
We go to New Kingdom! Only been there twice in 13 months. We havent loved our prividers yet but hopefully we find the right fit eventually. They've all been very respectful of our decision regarding this.
I started a delayed schedule for my baby (9 months) after hearing you make a small comment about doing a delayed schedule in a vid that you made. I didn't even know it was an option till you said that and I started doing some research. I didn't feel comfortable with how many vaccines babies are given in one go and in the first years of their lives. Now I didn't even realize there were books to read on the subject to further inform myself about it. I have so much anxiety at every vaccine appt because it just feels nerve wracking to make that decision for your child and to want to do only the best for them. It has been a struggle with pediatricians to get them on board to let my husband and I make that choice. I have even had to switch doctors after my child was administered the WRONG vaccine without my consent or knowledge after being told he was getting something completely different. That was the most sickening and scary experience that left me feeling hopeless. I was informed after the fact of what had been done but I didn't feel like there was any recourse I could take and of course there is no going back after it is done. It's horrible.. Now I have a pediatrician that I very much like and trust a lot more... but it is always in the back of my mind that I am the only true advocate for my child and I have to triple check everything that is being done.
This is what im scared of. What if they just blow me off and do why they want. Not give the safer brand or give more than what was agreed on. Its all alot and i dont feel like im absorbing all the information im trying so hard to read. Then you have the struggle of getting a good trust worthy doctor with the right brands…idk i dont trust anymore them or myself. It seems like so much to vaxx or to not vaxx im frozen solid and thats bad to because then they are more delayed in vaxx. I wouldnt mind but after a year we started vaxxing my first and then stopped i had hoped waiting a year would lesson how many they did but it didnt seem so but maybe i was just confused…then we moved and are months behind. Unsure ho they will do with the delayed schedule my old doctor started how it would ji with the vaxx friendly schedule. But pushing through and trying my hardest to research and understand what im reading and make a decision. I feel so alone in deciding what is right. My husband only shares his discomfort not an solution or decision.
I love that you're very open and you're all about this is what works for me & my family but you do what works best for you & your family. I feel like if we all viewed parenting this way the world would be more peaceful so thank you for being a ray of sunshine! I have just always followed my pediatrician and what she said that my sons needs as far as vaccines go because that's what me & my husband are comfortable with doing.
It's frustrating that I can't seem to find someone that's understanding but not completely antivaxx. Dr Paul's book so far seems to be more on the antivaxx side. Although I do benefit from listening to his book through audible. He discusses a lot more than just vaccines. Sometimes I'll put it at a higher speed. Some of the books for birth go so slow and I only have so much time before the baby is here.
I wanted to follow Dr Bobs plan, but our doctor did not accept alternative schedules. We could not find a doctor in our state that would let us alternate or have them. The doctor said you get kicked out of the clinic and not treated. There were a few doctors that would not take health insurance, but they also have very mixed reviews. It made me not feel confident these doctors were capable of handling medical issues if they arose. Edit: my son has been fine after a year on the regular schedule, but I find myself hesitating at ever decision related to this. I
THANK YOU so much for making this video and sharing your resource. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s such a controversial subject and I feel it’s almost impossible to talk about it in a reasonable way with folks as they tend to be really into one “side” or the order. So thank you!!
This is s super hard choice but so far our son is one with no shots cause we make the appointment 3 times and each time he got sick so no shots and not sure when or if we are getting them
People have strong opinions…. Literally I don’t bring it up with anyone. We also do the vaccine friendly plan and plan to homeschool in a pod.. Have you ever seen the documentary Vaxxed ?
My husband and I were open to vaccines, but we were open to not doing vaccines as well, so we did a ton of research when I was pregnant. We thought we might choose a few we felt were necessary or reasonable and skip the ones we didn’t feel good about. After our research, we realized we were not doing any for our baby. Shortly thereafter, I watched Candace Owen’s A Shot in the Dark series. Highly recommend. She goes through some of the biggest vaccines using CDC, NIH, and APA data. It shattered many of the illusions I had about the “reasonable” vaccines (TDAP, polio, etc.) and I’m super glad I chose to go without for my baby. She’s 7 months old and has never been sick, never had a fever, is happy and healthy, whereas most babies I know are constantly sick.
I appreciate you mentioning Candace Owens. She was instrumental in getting my pregnant daughter to at least stop and * think * before just climbing on the band wagon. Now, with Shayla's video and book recommendation, plus the book "Turtles All the Way Down," I hope to arm my daughter with knowledge before making life-changing choices. Cheers!
Thank you so much for posting this video because I was struggling to find information on delayed vaccines but now that you have brought forward two amazing books I will make sure to look into that
This makes so much sense if you do vaccinate so that you can identify if your child has a bad reaction to one and don't have to guess. I personally don't but I do think some would be more beneficial than others. Having transparency with ingredients would be a must for me.
My doctor is great he is with the delayed schedule. He told us truth and went with us. Amazing. I'm so happy that we are at this place. He is pro breastfeeding until baby weeks off. It's so great. But yea it is personal. I love you and your everything. Thank you for this one
Did Vit. K after birth due to many hours pushing and had jaundice symptoms (linked side effect). Met one ped who said at initial meeting that they offer delayed. Current ped has no issue deferring. I was super nervous to decline due to fears of dr. reaction, but my experience with peds has been great so far. None so far, but I am open minded if I feel it's needed. Currently no daycare or school and I wfh so limited exposure. My mind might change if that situation changes. Choice is important!
@heyshayla Yeah he is the coolest guy ever. He was railroaded by the corrupt medical board in Oregon; he had no other choice than to retire early or they would have buried him in legal fees; that's why no one of substance can ever "win" against the system. Long story short, the medical board demanded that he prove that his vaccine-friendly plan wasn't "harming" anyone; they probably thought he would just panic and reverse his ways. But instead he hired an outside data analyst to interpret his clinical data; he published his findings - which indicated that his unvaccinated cohort was hugely healthier than his vaccinated patients in every single metric, from allergies to ear infections to ASD. They even controlled for the usual vax-tyrant accusations that AnTi-VaXxErS dOnT tAkE tHeIr KiDs To ThE dOcToR, and accidentally found the opposite to be true; actually his un-vaxxed families adhered to the wellness checks and overall had more annual appointments than the mostly vaxxed - interesting. So literally the day after he published this data, they suspended his license as an "emergency" lol. Instead of sending outside analysts, dedicating some funding to audit his findings, etc. - maybe see if this data could help with the health of our children? Their only reaction was to shut him up and ruin his life.
We are also following the vaccine friendly plan! I wish I had found this book while I was pregnant with my first daughter but luckily found it before her first round of shots
Thank you for making this video ! I’m pregnant and currently doing a deep dive on vaccines. I HIGHLY recommend RF Kennedys book, “The Real Anthony Fauci.”It exposes the corruption of the CDC & the pharmaceutical industry. Another book I recommend is “Critical Vaccine Studies.” A podcast that I recommend is The Wild Doc.
Thank you for this video. I’m a “middle ground” mom on this topic and that’s not talked about as much. Like you said, it’s usually pro or anti only. My oldest 2 kids (now 13 and 9) are almost fully vaccinated per the CDC schedule. I believe I’m seeing longer term negative effects, which is why with my now almost 2 year old we are doing a delayed schedule. We don’t even always see the impact until years down the road. Thank you for sharing!!
I’m a doctor that has done a traditional schedule for many reasons. Most of all is my fear of the diseases that we prevent with vaccines. We luckily haven’t had any issues or side effects. I never mind if one of my patient’s parents want to do a delayed schedule and I’m happy to facilitate that for them. There are reasons for all the vaccines that we give and luckily unvaccinated children are mostly protected at this point because of heard immunity. I do worry what it might look like if more and more people choose not to vaccinate their children and we start to see things like polio come back into play.
New mom and family practice trained doctor here. We decided to delay hepatitis B vaccine but gave MMR at 6 months or extra shot due to international travel. We're lucky to live in a country where childhood immunizations are readily available and most kids are immunized so the risks are low to contract these diseases. I agree that not all diseases are equally horrible and I would rather a parent give some vaccines or delay than none at all. Also its true that vaccines are not 100% effective But the bottom line remains that delayed schedule still exposes the child to unnecessary risk of preventable diseases. I think all parents and kids would cheer and line up to get the shots on their own if not for misinformation.
Both of you are doctors. Ans both of you willingly admit openly that you're greatest motivation when making a life long health decision is based on... Fear? ..Not data... Not statistics... Not meta-analysis or studying VAERS reports... just fear? WOW prime examples of delusional doctors that don't know what TF they are peddling to children and expect informed patients to still trust them.
Thank you for posting this. It's so appreciated and refreshing to see. The polarisation that exists surrounding vaccines is so not helpful, we need more open conversation. So thank you! Also very brave lol
Thank you for making this video! I just got the book from my doula & wanted some videos to help me along… I’ve followed you for awhile & was delighted to see your brand new video on this exact topic pop up :) thank you!
pregnant with my first, and we are going with Dr. Paul - the only one I’m worried about so far is not getting the Tdap shot during pregnancy because my baby will be born in the winter. thank you for making this video!
I just called a pediatrician at our major medical center and was told they wouldn’t see me as a patient because I didn’t want my newborn getting the hep b vaccination. Denying care because you’re choosing to deviate slightly from the “recommended” schedule is insane to me. When did recommended become mandatory for care?
We originally decided to delay until two. After the first year of being talked down to by our Dr we found another Dr an hour away. He is family choice friendly and never pushed us. My kids are 1&3 now and we haven't and dont plan on doing any vaccines. Regardless of what you choose there are risks and i think having kids have just made me brave. I refuse to parent from a place of fear and sometimes its hard hearing my heart and mind over the noise thrown at us.
Thank you for this video. Prior to the Cov vax, I was a believer in all things cdc. And sadly, I used to shame people that decided not to vax. (I thought it was child abuse) Now that I’m having a baby, I get it. I’m not just trusting the govt to mandate my baby’s health. But I still think some vaccines can be a good thing. Your video made me buy the book. And it feels so good and sane to have an avenue that’s a good middle ground backed by real science! It’s hard to find the middle ground. The algorithms tend to only give you the extremes. Again, I appreciate this video!❤
Our child has had no shots, not even the “vitamin” B in the hospital or eye goo and all that jazz. He was set for a great start until by labor stalled and had to transfer to hospital after we planned home birth. They gave me 5 rounds antibiotics and destroyed his gut flora I had been establishing and then he couldn’t digest long chain proteins in my breast milk meaning no dairy or corn for me without a gut wrenching stomach ache for him. His gut got better at 5 months due to tons of probiotics. He is now a rock star health wise at 13 months has never had so much as a sniffle. Just my experience, not making any claims.
Thanks Shayla for this video !! My son has followed the vaccine schedule. But i just had a baby born last week. Have not decided yet what we will do but have been researching a lot about the vaccines and will make an informed desicion this time around.. about the risk vs rewards. Want to have more knowledge on what im givinf my baby. Thanks for givinf this a voice. As a parent i believe we have a right to choose we what we think is best for our kids. ❤❤❤
Thank you Shayla for starting this conversation! It’s been soooo hard for me to find enough information on this topic. Thanks to everyone as well for sharing their resources. ❤
Thanks for this video! I haven’t gone off schedule but I did verify with my pedi that our shots are preservative free single dose vials. Just something else to ask your pedi!
We also did a delayed schedule of 2 per visit, one in each leg. I felt more comfortable and I know it’s been less traumatic for her. Yes there’s shots every visit, but at least she knows what to expect and isn’t feeling betrayed by me letting a stranger (seemingly) randomly putting 4+ shot in her. But alas, to each their own!
Thank you! I can’t wait to check out the vaccine friendly book! I wish I could ask people that chose delayed vaccine schedules or no vaccinations, about the science, recourses, reasons behind their choice. I’m genuinely very curious about it, but ai don’t want people to feel uncomfortable or think I’m judging them. Not an easy topic to slide into conversation lol! I was a Marine kid. So, me & all of my sisters got allllllll the vaccines. lol! SO MANY! My wife & I chose to do the standard vaccine schedule for our daughter for the most part. She is our 1st kiddo. It felt “icky” putting her through 3 shots in one visit. Her legs would swell. It hurt her to be held, but she obviously wanted comfort…. she doesn’t eat well after most vaccine days, & even has nightmares for days afterwards. Finally, the past few times she had an apt, we told them no more than 2 per visit. It’s just too much at a time for her. Next kiddo, we will prob do one per visit.
With The Wind by Dr Paul Thomas has a website for its resources, his own experience as a pediatrician and a newsletter you can sign up for that goes to your email. He's been retired now because he was a pediatrician in Portland (a super "progressive" area that has authoritarian tendencies toward anyone who has differing thoughts.. doesn't sound very progressive to me!) They went after his license because of his delayed vaccination program and especially because they didn't like what he was saying when Pfizer was pushing the injections on all of us... but he still has his foundations to help parents directly now. He's a wonderful, kind and knowledgeable doctor. He has a lot of information you can read, listen to podcasts or watch on stream.
My doctor is part of a husband and wife team who own a practice together. For 20+ years they have been pro vaccine. After doing an insane amount of research they recently decided not to offer vaccines anymore. So that is what we’ve decided to do for now.
@@dawnforlife I have never met anyone more educated. He spends his free time learning about law for the fun of it! During COVID they read many studies and reported what they found. Many people reported them to the medical board for that.
@@hannahclauser6944 It's sad, even this Dr Paul Thomas has his license taken away now. He has changed his views since he wrote that book and is more against unless parents want them.
What is everyone's thoughts on newborns and sunlight exposure / Vitamin D3 drops? I've heard that Vitamin D drops can cause upset stomachs. Why is it that pediatricians recommend the drops and highly recommend staying out of sunlight until 6 months old? It seems backwards to me.
We live in Germany and mostly going with the schedule. Here parents are actively asked from the very birth of their child whether or not they want to do any vaccines and explain the consequences of choosing to not. At least our pediatrician does. It starts with Vitamin K and goes throughout the life really. I like it this way and I did research everything in the beginning, now when my 2-year-old hasn’t had any reactions to any vaccines I feel confident to be flowing with the schedule 😅 Also the last one I asked for myself and the doctor told me that it doesn’t make sense until he is 3, because the risk of having the disease earlier is extremely low. We are lucky with our pediatrician ☺️
When you first call my Pediatrician she asks two non-negotiable questions- Are you planning on trying ti breastfeed? And Are you planning to vaccinate on schedule? I hadnt even looked into vaccines really when I called so I looked into it a little before our initial consult which made me hesitant. During the consult she explained why they schedule them when they do and it really helped me feel better about it. When my daughter did have a reaction to a shot she handled it in a way that really helped me feel like she has my daughter's best interest and health in mind. So I think whats important is having a health care professional who lets you ask questions, listens to your concerns and builds trust with you instead of just treating you and your kid like a number
I'm very hesitant about anything from modern Big Pharma establishment medicine, because of how they're so often _bought_ by product companies, and how they'll straight up not mention side effects because it hurts their profit, and how little training they have in overall-wellness and nutrition especially... but my _husband_ is completely gung-ho about vaccines, and wants to completely 100% trust the doctors. So we're at odds about this issue. Normally, I say "you do whatever you want when you go to the doctor, and I'll do the same -- whatever makes you comfortable." But this is the first medical issue we're going to have to find compromise on, because it's our future KIDS. It's scary! So, I'm very, VERY grateful for videos like yours, Shayla, because I need all the resources and info I can get on this BEFORE we have kids (we're talking about starting this year). Thank you thank you thank you! I'm not a blind anti-vaxxer, I don't think they're evil, I think a lot of them are well-tested and good (probably). But I don't completely trust modern "establishment" medicine, because of a LOT of other things they do. So this is a tricky one.
Loved that book! As of now, we are planning on skipping all shots for now, since autoimmune issues run in the family and we won’t be traveling out of country or doing daycare. I live in California though, and there is NO WAY around getting a solid handful of vaccines here if you’re planning on doing public school. So my pediatrician recommends we start getting him slowly caught up once he is 2.5 if we anticipate putting him in public school for kindergarten.
@@haleymglickthey don’t accept those anymore only medical exemptions and doctor has to submit the exception to the state database that keeps track of all vaccinations 💉
We have a four and a half-month-old daughter, my doctor was kind when we told her we didn't want to do any shots, however the two nurses were not so passive. I'm open to learning more about it but honestly idk if it would change our minds. I have a best friend who got a flu shot for the 10th time and is now allergic to the Sun, my nephew has some sort of mental thing going on from his shots, he is 3 years old. As soon as he got his second round of shots there was something off started happening.. I'm just going to opt out for now. But that's just my opinion, no shade on folks getting vaccines we are all doing what we think is best 💚I'm glad you brought up the mail arriving about getting your kid vaccinated I thought that was pretty bizarre as well lol
I did a delayed schedule with my first who is now almost 8. Then with my second who is 3 now I did delayed until around 4 months and they “accidentally” gave MMR. Too early. After I told them that was the wrong one. That was the last vaccine I got for my baby. If I have another I will not vaccinate. I wish I never did at all with my others. All the unvaccinated kiddos I’ve met have just been so much healthier than their peers. Just my take.
Also, my nonvax kids are the healthiest kids I have ever seen. Never have ear infections, colds, viruses, ZIP, nothing. When they were vaccinated it was terrible, always something. It has been 10 years of absolutely no sickness.
Thank You! We had one reluctantly and now we’ve decided to not get any more for now. We live in NY so there are no exceptions other than medical…so that’s a bummer. I’d love to go the homeopathic
In my country you cannot send your kid to public preschool/nursery if you are not vaccinating your kid on time, but not all vaccines are mandatory. Vaccines are also free, its crazy you have to pay for them in the US. Personally we decided to also give the non mandatory vaccines to our kid, but to each his own.
Ive done a delayed schedule with my son. He's 3. We ended up doing more than i wanted by accident, but haven't done anything in a while. He's also delayed, but that has to do with malnutrition and a mutated gene that causes delays. He ended up having to be formula fed, which he didnt tolerate. Anyways, not doing em' for a while, if anymore at all. Next kid won't have any for a while, if at all. I'm personally anti vax, mainly because of the ingredients in them that i find to be questionable. And i dont like that drs push them. That's weird to me. I also had an adverse reaction to a vaccine years ago, left me with cyclical vomiting for over a year. Didnt stop till i got pregnant with my son and my body reset its self.
Thank you for making this. If I had a choice all over again I would avoid getting shots completely. We delayed the first few months. I asked for delayed schedule and my doc said “there’s no point” and as a new mom I knew shots were a thing but if I didn’t get my son shots I wasn’t able to go to the office. I wish I saw this when he was two months old because I didn’t really understand delayed shots and I could have advocated. He is a year and a half and we got 3 at once and no more until he’s 4, but he physically could not walk after his nap, he didn’t walk the rest of the day and was crying in pain every time we touched his legs, he said knees, I said hurt? He said yeah 😢 literally the most heartbreaking thing I’ve gone through as a mom. I will never go back. I do not care. I will do research so thank you for the resources but I am so hurt that doctors scare us into this schedule and if we beer at all they are not willing to see them, granted, I like in Northern California so it’s different, and I want to homeschool but it’s pretty forced now since they have to have such and such shots.. 😢😢😢
@@devinkaauwai8906 I know it’s waaaay easier said than done but try not to beat yourself up, mama. I did this myself and it didn’t do me any good because I couldn’t go back and change what had already been done. A lot of drs are really good at pressuring and scaring parents in to doing something they aren’t comfortable with. All we can do is move forward and not let them walk on us again. We know what’s best for our babies! I definitely do recommend A Shot in the Dark when you are ready. The Vaccine Podcast is really good too.
There’s certainly so much fear pushed onto us. I opted to not get the Hep B vaccine because that one just didn’t make sense to me. My son is 15 months old and for one appt I was uncomfortable with the number of shots so I asked to delay some. Personally I would stop altogether now because I just feel uncomfortable with it. My doctor may not accept us in his practice anymore so I have to grow a pair to deal with that 😅 But I know doctors around where I live here in CT won’t take patients who won’t get vaccinated 🙃 I think that’s so wrong.
Thank you for sharing your hard experience mama. Hearing your experience will help others stand up for what they don't feel right about. Love and prayers to you and your family❤
I agree that this is such a sensitive topic, which is unfortunate because something that relates to the wellbeing of our children should always be allowed to be openly questioned and scrutinized to ensure its integrity. I haven’t read either of the books you’ve recommended, but I’m curious if either of them speak to the dangers of these shots and lack of legitimate safety studies. I recommend “Turtles All the Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth” as a must read for parents as it thoroughly dissects the shot schedule. You can always delay shots and do your research, but sadly you cannot remove a shot from the body or reverse damage.
We got the regular schedule for our first baby in 2020, but since then we have not vaccinated our 2 younger children. Since the scandal of the whole "covid vaccine" has come out, we know we made the right decision. None of us got the shot when they were pushing it on everyone and banning us from public spaces. I feel badly for all the people who trusted the government and health care professionals, and are now paying the price with their health and lives.
We follow Dr Pauls plan. Unfortunately we don't have any holistic doctors near us. I got pressured into giving my son a vaccine at 2 days old. I had initially told them nothing at birth but being a new mom they acted like we couldn't leave until he got it. I knew I made the wrong decision later and continued with my initial decision for his future vaccines. I now have a 5 month old as well and have been sticking with the schedule since birth this time. My son just turned 2 and his doctor for the first time asked me what vaccine plan we are using so she can put it in his chart and they will know when we are doing vaccines. It's been 2 years that would have been a good question to ask years ago!🤦 it could have saved so much frustration and judgement.
I hear that's SO common, which is scary and sad. They really do bully new mothers and fathers in hospitals these days. Even COVID patients that wanted antibody treatment or ivermectin (which is a drug originated in Japan that won awards for it's treatment purposes before it got politicized) even those people were treated like hostages unless they followed moronic treatment plans.
Very brave! I would be scared to talk about this as well! With my 1 & 1/2 yr old daughter, we just kept forgetting to get her vaccinated. So she got her 2 month vaccines at 4 months. And then her 4 month vaccines at 6 months, etc. I actually liked this a lot because she was so small and I was so scared when she was 2 months old, but at 4 months I felt like she was ready? Or I was ready ha ha ha. Thank you for sharing this!
I’m very much pro-shots and we did delay a couple for my son. For the next kid I will space out the shots even more. I don’t think there is enough research done about them being given so many at once. I do think most shots are very valuable and people are so privileged to live in a time where shots already virtually eradicated a lot of the diseases so they forget or have NO idea the impacts these diseases had on society for hundreds or years. The issue I have with the strong anti-shot people is that they aren’t doing their due diligence with research and are only looking at the possible scary (very rare) side effects of shots and not the very devastating and even fatal effects of these diseases which are far more likely to occur. As a related note, note I tested positive for TB when I was 19 (no idea where I got it and it’s more common than you would think) and had to do 9 months of antibiotics which damaged my liver and gut. I will always have latent TB show up on test so it makes my life way more complicated when I have to get tests done for healthcare work and insurance (back when you could be denied for preexisting conditions). Literally this morning I have to go in for another bloodwork re-draw because the lab flagged me as high risk even though I’m perfectly “healthy.” And, even though I received my prophylactic antibiotic treatment I could STILL develop active TB someday if my immune system takes a big hit (like cóvid). If I had been inoculated (not common here) this all could have been prevented. With the rise of measles, RSV, and polio there is no way I’m going to sit idly by and let my kid get infected from an untreated kids/person when there are proven preventable measures against these very serious diseases…even if there might be a potential small risk from a shot. (Edit for spelling)
Ftm here, i know i wanna give some vaccines for my baby for diseases that have basically been eradicated for centries because doctors would not be able to know what it was until it is too late. But there's many others (like flu shots) that i have even myself taken and doesn't even help. So I'm just kinda at a loss at where to begin and what to take and not take. This video came at the right time for me 😊
@@melinda4316yes to this! The history behind vaccines “eradicating” diseases is full of misinformation and this doc by Candace Owens is worth the watch!
Could you also do a video about why you decided to do a natural birth? I have watched your birth videos but was curious what made you decide to go that route?
You are brave for making this video. Hopefully it doesn’t get removed… “Turtles all the way down: vaccine science and myth” is a great resource. We don’t vaccinate at all. We vaccinated our first through two months before deciding nobody in our family will have another vaccine again.
Brave video. I’m making a different decision but I’m not going to be a crazy internet person. 😊 we live in CA and will be starting daycare really early 😢 so I suspect the shots would be required.
Gah probably October but it’s not vaccine specific it’s about homeopathy and ear infections which she actually says is linked to vaccines. She’s homeopathyformommies.com and she had a podcast too!
zero vaccines here & super proud of our choice to not do any of them! our doctor is amazing and believes 100% it is the parents choice and no one else’s. we weighed the risks of the vaccines & the diseases themselves. after a ton of research we came to the conclusion none of it was worth it and are confident our children will have better health without them. ❤️
👏👏👏👏👏
Both sides love their children❤
It’s so tough for sure!
I am also highly educated and used to speak derisively about AnTi-VaXxErS.
Then I saw the statistics 😳

Delighted you did this video! I dr Paul’s book when I was expecting my first baby. His advice for parents with the MTHFR gene mutation was interesting so we have not given any vaccines to any of our kids. @@kalarandazzo2691 If I remembered correctly, it's harder for people with MTHFR to remove toxins from the body and may cause delays in learning. Vaccines has chemicals such as formaldehyde, aluminium..etc.

I’m glad you caught it!!
Caught it early*
I
Dont let them push you into anything your intuition is telling you is wrong! Keep searching for a doctor who respects your decision. Good luck ❤
THANK YOU so much for making this video and sharing your resource. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s such a controversial subject and I feel it’s almost impossible to talk about it in a reasonable way with folks as they tend to be really into one “side” or the order. So thank you!!
This is s super hard choice but so far our son is one with no shots cause we make the appointment 3 times and each time he got sick so no shots and not sure when or if we are getting them
I cannot thank you enough for this!! I’ve tried so hard to find resources and different viewpoints on this topic and nobody wants to talk about it
“Turtles all the way down vaccine science and myth” is a great one!
I have ordered some books on Amazon on this topic. It was very helpful.
Miller's review of critical vaccine studies is also a good one.
People have strong opinions…. Literally I don’t bring it up with anyone. We also do the vaccine friendly plan and plan to homeschool in a pod.. Have you ever seen the documentary Vaxxed ?
No!! But I will now!
We don't at all.i read that book too. And another one and we have a great doctor
Is Candace a doctor?
I appreciate you mentioning Candace Owens. She was instrumental in getting my pregnant daughter to at least stop and * think * before just climbing on the band wagon. Now, with Shayla's video and book recommendation, plus the book "Turtles All the Way Down," I hope to arm my daughter with knowledge before making life-changing choices. Cheers!
Also is your daughter around other kids? Like daycare?
We don’t do any :)
Every should watch the documentary "the truth about Vaccines"
We had the blessing of having Dr. Paul as our pediatrician 👍🌼🪻🌲
No way!
We’re also doing the vaccine friendly plan! We’ve enjoyed it so far. It’s nice to see someone talking about the middle ground.
Amazing book! I'm listening to it on Audible right now!
Thank you for recommending that book! I'm purchasing it now!
I’m almost finished with this book and it is mind blowing
Love this! We vaccinated our previous two but I really didn't want to, I'm currently preggo with no:3 and I want tod delay it
Thank you for posting this. It's so appreciated and refreshing to see. The polarisation that exists surrounding vaccines is so not helpful, we need more open conversation. So thank you! Also very brave lol
We started out wanting to do a delayed schedule, but ended up not doing any. My son is 2.5 and very healthy compared to his peers.
Same here too!!
Same!!
same here! I couldn't stop digging and then ended up deciding not to.
Thank you for making this video! I just got the book from my doula & wanted some videos to help me along… I’ve followed you for awhile & was delighted to see your brand new video on this exact topic pop up :) thank you!
I’m reading the friendly guide and I have really enjoyed it and learned a lot! The other book is on my TBR list!
pregnant with my first, and we are going with Dr. Paul - the only one I’m worried about so far is not getting the Tdap shot during pregnancy because my baby will be born in the winter. thank you for making this video!
You should look into a book called "dtap, a shot in the dark by Dr. Tenpenny. The dtap and the MMR are very dangerous.
We choose not to. Shot in the Dark by Candice Owens was a great series and resource for me.
For us too!!
Same here!!!
Same
I just called a pediatrician at our major medical center and was told they wouldn’t see me as a patient because I didn’t want my newborn getting the hep b vaccination.
(I thought it was child abuse)
Now that I’m having a baby, I get it.
Oh dear 😭
Thank you for this video! This was one of the hardest decisions for us! It’s so nice to see a middle ground perspective.
What were the Minnesota clinics you mentioned or would recommend?
New kingdom is a great place for alternative schedules
My doctor is part of a husband and wife team who own a practice together. For 20+ years they have been pro vaccine. After doing an insane amount of research they recently decided not to offer vaccines anymore. So that is what we’ve decided to do for now.
Wow!! I love to hear it
Wow. I really admire your doctor and so great to have doctors who actually do their research!
What state is this in?? I hope they don’t get their licenses taken away. They took away Dr. Paul’s in Oregan..and he was still offering vaccines…
Question - can you share your kids blood types? I have a theory of Vs and reactions based on blood types.
I’ve heard of this!!
I’m not even sure what they are!
Thank you for making this video I know it was not easy!
Have you considered religious exemption? You don’t actually have to be a certain religion as the law states it can be any firmly healed belief.
I’m not vaccinating at all
I did a delayed schedule with my first who is now almost 8.
Pro vaccine, follow the recommended schedule and have not had any issues 🤷🏻♀️
You are a legend for this! Thank you! 🫶🏽✨
Someone told me to watch a shot in the dark and I haven’t yet, but I will when my heart moves through this guilt
I read this book among a couple others, and ironically, they convinced me not to do anything.😂😅
Say no to clot shots!
Thank you for your recommendation. I just ordered it for my daughter, who is pregnant.
Did you post the interview with the homeopath?
No I haven’t yet! Are you on the email list? Life has been nuts and I was holding it until I started the podcast up again
@@heyshayla I’m not sure if I’m on the email list but I’ll check. Thank you!
This video came at the right time for me 😊
Candace owens “a shot in the dark” podcast is FANTASTIC. I wish I heard it sooner when my first was born.
@@melinda4316yes to this! The history behind vaccines “eradicating” diseases is full of misinformation and this doc by Candace Owens is worth the watch!
Could you also do a video about why you decided to do a natural birth? I have watched your birth videos but was curious what made you decide to go that route?
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thank you! This is great. I love your perspective and I’m commenting to hype up this content. :) thanks for posting!!!
You can also get shots at the health department!
You are brave for making this video. Hopefully it doesn’t get removed…
“Turtles all the way down: vaccine science and myth” is a great resource.
Se have exemptions here! Look into getting one.
When is the homeopath video coming out? I'm VERY interested in that!
Me too!!!!!
You might be able find more info if your internet search homeoprophylaxis. But try something other than Google
We want to do the same, would you list some resources?
Same. Another commenter suggested "Turtles All The Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth".
I’ve read that book-it’s absolutely incredible and bulletproof!
