"Fetch me The Spirit, The Son, and The Father, tell them their pillar of faith has ascended!" Gets me every time.
I am a mom of 7 children, I only hope I am worthy of such love as Maynard has for his mother. Makes me cry every time I listen to this song. What a tribute to his mother.
Your children think of you as AMAZING. Don’t forget that! ☺️
What an outstanding work by Justin here. "10000 basslines"
ehhh part 2 is only 3 diffenent bass riffs but they are super complex
I just turned 10,000 days old last week
Wings for Marie is one of the best pieces of music ever constructed in my opinion. The lyrics are just beautiful
i was lucky enough to see it live and to see 20k people crying was a sight to behold. I cry every time i listen to this song....cant help it. Its the most powerful song emotionally i have ever heard. A masterpiece to be sure.
“10,000 days in the fire is long enough, you’re going home”. Gets ya right in the feels mang.
Think Freely “see? I’m alright, now It’s time for us to let you go” sent a shockwave if goosebumps to my body the first time I heard it
@Will G1986 Dude it's kind of weird to tell you this, even though my intentions are not to tell you what is right from wrong as everyone of us normal human beings know that by intuition. My views have been kind of, of an atheist as for me, god is not the question but the consciousness is. Without it the universe cannot experience itself. On the otherhand consciousness can be boundless, in a way godlike (which is god to me in the sense of experience and meaning). Just wanted to share this with you.
Relegious people have more of a chance of experiencing it than the atheists, despite their ignorance, I believe.
@@sgt.politeness1677 Who says the universe is consciously experiencing itself?
My mother passed away 2 years ago, seems like yesterday...It probably always will. I have NEVER experienced grief that deep. The first year following her passing the album Lateralus was on heavy repeat for me. Such a masterpiece of spirituality. This song was one I would listen to too from 10,000 Days. It helped my grieving process.
My husband made her a HUGE playlist on his ipod of songs she wanted to hear during the deathbed process. I will never forget the morning of the day she died... Black from Pearl Jam came on, after it was over, I asked her if she wanted to hear it again because she absolutely loved that song, she nodded, and we listened to it again.
The day my mother died was the first 'real' day of spring. Holding my mother's hand as she took her last breath and exhaled. The window directly above her head was open with a cool breeze and the lovely warm sun shining in on her. I kid you not, the song that immediately played was The Beatles-Here Comes the Sun. That song now has deeper meaning to it for me. The lyrics are quite relevant for the moment. 🌝❤
Wow, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing Sid, and my sympathies on your mom's passing. It would appear we have a common story, about mom & about music. My mom passed 2 years ago in April, and yes, I feel as if it were just yesterday.
I had gotten my mom into Pink Floyd - it became one of her favourite groups (especially certain songs like Shine On You Crazy Diamond). On the occasion of her cremation, after it was complete, myself and the family gathered in the chapel connecting to the crematorium. Not a word of a lie, what starts playing over the speakers but Wish You Were Here...I was gutted...never have I cried so hard. It told me mom was there and it expressed our sentiment perfectly. I can't help but well up every time I hear that song now!
This wasn't the only time either. First time was with my grandfather (who loved music). After his funeral ceremony, as we got in the car for the procession to the cemetery, what song comes on, Angel by Sarah McLachlan. Another perfectly poignant tune.
Here Comes The Sun seems wonderfully fitting. I love that song! Peace be to our moms.
@@EchoesDaBear Thank you for sharing your story too. My mother passed in April as well. It's so very hard still, isn't It? Your story is beautiful, Darren, it was most definitely a gift from your mom for that song to play at that moment. My mom was a big fan of Pink Floyd as well and that song, Wish You Were Here was very poignant and literally straight to the point from your mom for you to be heard at that moment. Some people would say "Oh, that's just a coincidence". It wasn't for either one of us! It was for us to know they are okay. ❤ I believe there ARE ways our loved ones can communicate with us after they passed and I believe music is one way in which they can do it. It's all just frequency and vibrations.
Your grandfather was telling you too. That song by Sarah McLachlan gets me everytime. I don't believe in coincidences, I'm the type that believes all things happen for a reason and all things are as they should be. My condolences to you for your loss, I know it's not easy. I have faith we will both be with them again one day.
✌❤🙏
Judith Marie I wish I could have known you. All of us can only hope that our offspring will give us such a powerful farewell.
If you do "Pushit", I would strongly recommend you do the studio version before you do the Salival (Live) version of the song. They specifically change the song in the live version to create a new take and fresh atmosphere. So you'll miss a lot of the context if you don't do them in that order.
100% agreed, please follow this bit of advice, you'll get more out of it.
I agree the original is a must (IMO its also superior) possibly the most underrated Tool song of all time (the original studio version its a masterpiece), but as with Tool listening in general, the patient options is the right one...do both (studio first though makes sense and its glorious)
IMO the original studio version is one of the most complete works they ever did and the middle jam session sections are a vibe that only great players in great bands can muster, I find the re -imagining laboured and dull by comparison, and although much of the latter stages is the same or similar it somehow loses something for me without the originals prior context, but many love the Salvial version so worth checking both
Yep yep
Agree totally
100% agree
Of all their songs, this's the one that always gets to me the hardest.
the man's actually doing it
The package by a perfect circle is killer.
I've always heard a breathing machine and heart monitor in this song. The sound Maynard heard by her hospital bed.
This is the one that hits home for me because my mom passed in 2016.
Damn it again, will everyone stop chopping onions.....brb got something in my eye...again.
Damn allergies 😪
At minimum goosebumbs and a lump in my throat every time he gets to..you are the only one who can hold their head up high...
If the reactor gets it too..tears.
an absolute masterpiece and beautiful homage to his late mother. Keep em coming Dean! might i recommend "Right in two"
Such a good track
I remember the first time I've heard this... Ive cried my heart out (for various reasons....). Tool is one of a very few bands that can makes me fell so many emotions.
"It's time for us to let you go.... " That sentence hits me deeeep every time.
I N V I N C I B L E
Godspeed Judith. Without you we would not have Maynard.
Hope you did this with lyrics there. So much meaning.
I imagine myself hearing this again for the first time. Watching people experience it is always entertaining.
10,000 Days gets me every time. Just takes the air right out of my lungs.
Jambi is really glorious when you read the lyrics and listen as well.
I really like your channel man. Kinda luckily stumbled on it. I normally hate reaction videos but sometimes will click on them hoping that one will actually be decent, and they never are... until now. I like how you literally just sit there and take the music in, bob your head a bit and maybe the odd facial reaction. you listen like a normal human being should. i'm sick of all these reaction videos of people pretending to be absolutely blown away and literally freaking out on camera. not saying you can't be blown away, but that stuff is fake. you sometimes seem like you're blown away but in a much more subdued way. Anyways, glad I clicked cuz I too am a guitar nerd and I really dig your channel. don't worry, i subscribed haha
Thanks man, yah thanks to tool fans I learned pretty quick that talking and pausing was not going to yield me a proper listen. How right they were. Yup, I keep it real.
Check up Jim Newstead channel. Also pretty good reactions!
+1 for Jim Newstead he's really good, and start with his reaction of the Grudge. It's the first time he's properly heard Tool and it's fun to watch him go from "Oh this is catchy" to "bloody hell!" and the realisation that what he's hearing is truly special. And he knows music.
Another very genuine one with great reactions and first class lyrical interpretations is Super Jersh. Highly recommend.
bretto40 uhm..... I don't know what to say)))))
Андрей Орлов Андрей Орлов um... I don't know why you're confused? My recommendations were for 8R014V. Was that tripping you up?
Your second listen with lyrics of these two will give you a totally different feel:)
You need to react to TOOLS, "RIGHT IN TWO" 🙏 You won't be disappointed.
This dude knows. That song is mind-blowing.
Yes!!!
Rosetta stoned 😁
Not ready for that yet
Justin Quamme when is anyone really ready for lost keys(blame Hoffman)/Rosetta stoned? Jump in learn to swim right?
@@50NewEyes haha heck yeah! That was awesome
You have to read lyrics while listening! Vital part of every song.
I prefer scanning before. But as I get more familiar with it over time I will read along
I would strongly recommend 'Pushit' live from the Salival live album
Wondering if you did Jimmy. It kind of sets up ,Judith and Wings. When Maynard was eleven his mother suffered the stroke that led to her paralysis and ultimate passing.
Will soon
Do the song before it too. It's imperative as an intro. And just and intro. There are meshed vids out there.
Justin Quamme yeah do intermission with jimmy pls.....
LOVE YOUR REACTIONS... PLEASE DO TOOL- FEAR INOCULUM
The song
Absolute genius . What a group .
Being a Yes fan there’s a end clean riff in Tool’s Parabola song that always reminded me of the lick from Yes’s Roundabout....anybody else hear that?
I will need to relisten to that...
I thought I was the only one thinking that.
Any of this tool listening advice we give is due to decades of listens my brother.
Spiral out
Honestly, your videos help so much. I have ADD and for some reason I just can't sit and listen without marijuana or something. But with channels like you, that put the music first, and let us listen while we can pretend there's a friend in the room who likes tool do.. is just more than you could imagine. Thanks man.
Right on, it feels that way for me too, like its the next best thing to sitting in a room and listening with everyone.
@@deanwolfechannel you're bang on, its hard to be into Tool sometimes. But UA-cam is bringing us together!❤
GIME ME MY WINGSSSssss... all those goosebumps again
This is my favorite set of songs. 😭😭😭
1:52 gives me chills
Please do "The Patient" :)
Best from Lateralus
Eon blue apocalypse intro with patient. Perfect transition and set up. Tool does this often.
The best is intention/right in two.
Oh my goodness the transition is perfect
@@justinquamme916 Yes, Eon Blue Apocalpyse + The Patient. It's all one song really.
GIVE ME MY..... GIVE ME MY...... WIIIINGGSSS...!!!
I always felt the guitar in wings 1 sounded like x files but no one ever thinks so lol
Aguante tool deftones saludos de argentina
Oh, you did this already.. wouldn't have suggested it if I bothered to look to see if you had or not.
No worries!
More Tool
😢 Every single time 😢
You should see the cd cover yes I said the cd cover.
Subscribed. Great channel.
Thanks
Do you lied live next Deano & then maybe some sweat from the dirty ol days?
No popcorn this time?
Definitely not! Lol
does a better tribute song exist?
React to more prog metal bands. React to Opeth - Harlequin Forest
For sure, will do soon
There are a few lyric videos to that song that are terribly inaccurate
Does anyone know what headphones he's using? Thanks.

@@deanwolfechannel Thank you! Keep up the good videos. I discovered Tool in the early 90s, and to say their music has impacted me on a deep level is an understatement. I too am a fan of Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, et al. There's just something different about Tool's synergy and musicianship that pits them at the top for me. It's like a spiritual journey toward a personal enlightenment.
Please react to The Mars Volta- Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt then you will have another loyal subscriber
Did it, amazing, will be posted in next couple days, thanks
Song is better with lyrics.
If you do anything off of Aenima.
