Wow! What an eye opener for new guitarists! I've been trying to explain the maj/min run concept to my 11 year old grandson recently with only limited success... this sums it up in a nutshell! Cheers, m8
Thanks John I liked how you demonstrated how the same notes could fit into a C or A minor backing track. It would be great to hear the same demonstration over a backing track which would clash with the solo.
I always find it helpful to think I terms of intervals so from a C major perspective you are mapping the scale as 5th 6th root 2nd major 3rd. From an A minor perspective it is flat7 root minor third 4th 5th
Hello John, I’ve been playing a few years now and thanks for clearing up the topic of needing to begin ( or finish ) on the root note. Some folks explain this as if it’s imperative 🤙 I guess it just comes down to the old saying, if it sounds good, it is indeed good. Thanks 🤙

Great little lesson John. Thank you kindley Sir.
Thanks John. Maybe tie the following week solo to the lesson.
Very good John. In the old days took me a time to learn. Anyone listening will gain great insight. Good vid. Hope your well.

"Angular banjos, sound good, to me ..." Steely Dan, for the WIN!
Are you gonna do videos where you talk about the rhythm aspect of guitar????
I already am. Watch on Wednesday 👍
@@JRobsonGuitar Heyyyy, yes sir😎😎😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Have a quick look at the A minor scale notes and then C major. The overlap is obvious.
Lead guitars are way too heavy for me. I like wooden ones!
