Where did you purchase this pack? I can't seem to find it through Yamaha but I did see the Garmin Fish Finder Striker 4 online just not sure it comes with the proper setup.
With a little work and some extra money you CAN modify the kit to fit any of the WaveRunners but you need to be mechanically inclined and able to come up with creative solutions. The VX Limited doesn't have the same type of mounting system that the FX series has. You would need to drill holes in the plastics to bolt things on. The problem is that the plastics on your machine aren't designed to hold the weight and also handle the flexing that occurs with the GPS while under way so you would need to create some kind of backing plate you can secure it to and find a spot where you could install the backing plate. Also, the transducer mount that comes in the kit would need to be ground down to fit a different hull style. I had to do that on the 2 older FX machines I installed chart plotters on. I wouldn't really recommend the Garmin Striker 4 kit though. It's not a good unit and kind of misleading. There is no chart capability with it. That's why it's so cheap. If you only want to use it on a lake that you already know to see fish with it's ok. But if you want it to navigate at all or plan to use it on open water or on lakes that you don't know then charting capabilities are the better option. The Garmin Echomap Plus series is better. The 44cv is the one you want for salt water (ocean). If you want the lake charting then you want the Echomap Plus 43cv.

Hey man, I'm trying to find the 2nd piece in the video (shown at 1:03), the circular adapter that goes between the GPS and the ball adapter plate. I searched Amazon and the RAM manufacturer website and it's nowhere to be found. Do you know the part number?
You can buy the kit from any Yamaha WaveRunner dealer. Just call them and ask for the FX Garmin Striker GPS Package. You can also find it online at places like eBay by searching for Yamaha Striker 4. If you search for just Striker 4 you will find the Garmin Striker 4 without the rest of the kit that's needed to install it on a Yamaha WaveRunner so be sure to include Yamaha in your search. But be aware of the limitations of the Striker series GPS. You need to know what you're going to do before you buy it. If it's only for fishing then it's ok but if you want any kind of charts it doesn't have it. You might want to look in to some of the other Garmin GPS products like the EchoMap Plus Series.

Do you happen to still have the installation instructions along with the template for where they recommend drilling the hole? If so I was wondering if you could email me a copy of them. I didn't want to buy the Striker 4 because I want charts so I went with a different model from Garmin. I was able to order the mount/spacer kit separate from the package but i would like to still drill where they recommend for the transducer and I know that paperwork comes inside the kit.

Hi. I’d like to follow your setup but install the larger 6” Garmin 64CV instead of the stock 4” striker. Can you advise of what Yamaha and RAM products including the model numbers I would need? I’d have to buy separately as I wouldn’t be going through Yamaha to buy a package. Thank you!
Jonathan F, If you're going to mount the transducer outside the hull you will need the transducer bracket (F3X-R150A-V0-00). This comes with the bracket and the spacer to fit behind both sides of the re-boarding step and the transducer mounts to it so you don't have to screw the transducer in to the hull. Yamaha doesn't sell them separately anymore. See my post below about where I got mine. As far as what RAM products you need that will be different for your installation compared to the one in the video. If you have a 2019 or newer FX series machine you should already have the plate that covers the cup holder that the ram mount screws in to. If you don't the part number is: F3X-UE175-00-00. The ram ball that I have for the WaveRunner end is RAP-B-379U-252025. It's a 1" ball. That screws in to the plate on the WaveRunner cup holder. To connect the 2 balls I used RAM-B-201U-A. It's the short length double socket arm for 1" balls. The ball that I have that connects to my chart-plotter end of the arm is RAM-B-202U. This is where yours would be different. I have the Garmin Echomap Plus 44cv so my cradle has 3 holes that I was able to screw to the ball. It looks like your chart-plotter has a single hole in the center of the mount so you can probably get away with a ball similar to what's on the WaveRunner end with a stainless steel lock washer and nut. The system I mentions is all 1" ball. YourChart-plotter is larger than mine so you might not be happy with the smaller 1" ram balls. Another thought is that you might be able to get a stainless steel bolt with the same threads as the cup holder place and just bolt your chartplotter directly to the plate and not use any of the RAM system.

Brian, I want to install a Garmin Echomap on my 2020 VX Deluxe. I mostly ride on the ocean and gulf and need serious charting instead of pulling out the Iphone. I noticed the best mount options are on top to the left or right side of the display where potentially speakers would go. Could you please advise on some recommendations on best parts and mounting options. It appears I will have to drill through the top plastic and install backing plates? Thanks for the excellent video.
Sorry, since this video isn't mine I didn't see your message until now. Unfortunately, I can't really recommend the best options for mounting to the VX Deluxe. I'm still playing with my mount on the FX. I don't like the options that Yamaha came up with. It doesn't work out too well in rough stuff when you get hit with wave after wave. It's constantly knocking itself over and the cradle that comes with the GPS isn't all that good either. I had mine fall off once. I was fortunate that it fell into my lap and I was able to grab it right away. I rode with another guy about a month later who wasn't as lucky with his Striker 4. His is at the bottom of the ocean somewhere. When it comes to mounting on yours it's going to be trial and error since Yamaha didn't really plan on a chartplotter for your model. The plastics might not hold up in rough stuff without a good backing plate.
I also want to install a Garmine Striker 4 on my 2019 Yamaha Waverunner VXR. Would the cable of the transducer fit through a the cooling pee whole on the side of the Waverunner where water comes out from the cooling system or can you provide the diameter of the thickest part cable? I am assuming it is the end with the plug that goes into the back of the Garmine Striker 4. I was thinking ordering 2 of those and a rubber hose connecting them and securing with clamps on both ends. I would drill 2 holes, one in the back and one in the front connecting the components together. This would create basically a water tight pipe system. I would run the transducer cable through the pipe created to avoid water getting into the hull of the Waverunner. This would give the ability to work on the cable of the transducer if I ever have to take repair or replace the transducer.

Last I knew there were only 2 dealerships in the country who had them for sale separately. One of them didn't want to sell them because he was going to use them. The other had 7 in stock a couple months ago. My friends and I bought 3 of them and another guy on here bought one. I'm not sure if he still has any of the three left but the dealership I got them from was Florida Motorsports in Naples, FL. With shipping I paid $39.95 for 1. The part number is: F3X-R150A-V0-00. There are some random websites online that list them for sale but they seem shady and I don't know how legitimate they are. Order from them at your own risk.
You don't need that power cable extension. If you have a marine store near you you can get all the parts you need to make an extension. You can bring your chart-plotter wire harness to them along with the bolt from your battery and they can help you get the right size. I have the EchoMap Plus 44cv and the instructions Garmin gave said to get at least an 18 gauge wire. I went to West Marine and the guy told me that the ABYC standards said that wiring on a boat shouldn't be any smaller than 16 gauge so I bought a 6' length of #16-2 Power Wire (179499), 2 Step down connectors (434607) to connect from my 16 gauge wire to the 18 gauge (chart-plotter harness), heat shrink tubing (179564) and ring connectors (336222). The part numbers I gave are only for reference so you can see what I'm talking about. They may not work for what you're doing. You should talk to the people at the marine store or someone who knows marine electric and they can help you. You don't want to use the wrong stuff or do this if you don't know what you're doing because you can cause a fire or damage the ski if it's not done right. The parts I got cost me $20.

Very nice job . Many just drill the rear and get wiring through . you removed the jet stream and the battery gas release valve and rout it so nice .

Why not just buy a in hull transducer?
