    Your previous videos helped me to decide on which ski to get and also to go with RT Metals for my rack.
    I ended up buying the 2019 Yamaha FX-SVHO and I am loving life with my new ski.. Thank you for your videos.

    Such a superb comparison of a great model. Yamaha truly did make some obvious changes for 2019.

    we originally selected the 2018 but were waiting on trailer to come in. While waiting I was researching the 2019 and we ended up deciding to wait for it to come in. So like I commented on last video, we bought th3 2019 and so glad we did. the differences are so good.

    Nice Review!!! It helped me make a decision on a 2019 vs a left over 2018 from me local dealer. 2019 is worth the extra $ for sure. Thx!!!!!!!!

    Great looking ski, Congrats once again. Nice little comparison video. I do have a question, have you recorded or noticed the top speed GPS speed that is on your 19 FX HO? Have a few friends with them saying it’s much slower then the 18’ FX HO’s. I know it’s not a speed demon or supercharged version. But they’re saying a noticeable difference top speed. I personally would appreciate it if you can keep me informed and let me know.
    Thanks,
    Billy D

    Great comparison. Looks like the 2019 cupholder / mount area holds water but everything else looks like nice improvements.

    Just wondered why you picked that Yamaha waverunner over the other models. Would love your feedback.

      Hi Jeffrey, the Fx hull is more V shaped than the Vx hull and handles the ocean better. Also, less maintenance and worry without a turbo charger. Thanks for watching.

    Is the rear dack look that different between the two? I got a 2018 fx svho and want to get the new jet fish gear in back but they say it only goes back to 2019.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video. What are your plans, if any, to make the 2019 model a deep sea fishing rig?

    Not sure if you're aware, but Yamaha used steel screws around the hull instead of stainless. People already reporting corroded screws.

      LOL. She would not let me do a comparison video of her and the ski.

    • @GBsPitstop
      @GBsPitstop 5 років тому

      @@dpbaynon LOL. seriously though i am seeing reports of the ride plate/hull changes have slowed down the overall top speed compared to last years model. the reports were the SVHO though so just wondered if you had seen a slightly lower top speed. on the performance forums people are already buying replacement ride plates and having them trimmed.

    • @dpbaynon
      @dpbaynon  5 років тому +2

      @@GBsPitstop I raced the 2018 and 2019 side by side on flat water and they were neck and neck. We are not speed demons and rarely open them up like that, so probably not the best person to ask about slight differences. Overall, they were very similar in speed.

    • @GBsPitstop
      @GBsPitstop 5 років тому +1

      @@dpbaynon thanks for this reply. I am thinking that maybe the SVHO will show more of the difference instead of the HO. I am not a top speed person/rider either so it really wouldn't sway my decision if i were getting one. again thanks for the model comparison video.

    • @dpbaynon
      @dpbaynon  5 років тому +1

      @@GBsPitstop Since we run these machines offshore, we are interested in the reliability more than speed. Not having a turbo is one less thing to worry about while fishing the deep blue.

    Great video just got a 2019 fx cruiser like yours and it not going past 55mph. Is your fuel gauge off showing low when you still have over quarter tank?

    • @dpbaynon
      @dpbaynon  5 років тому

      55 is about what we max out at also. We have not noticed that with the fuel.

    • @johnp1375
      @johnp1375 4 роки тому

      I hear the 2019s are speed limited to about 56. I also did see a comment some where else that someone was having similar issues with the fuel gauge showing empty when they were half full. Also saw some scary stuff about the touch screen failing and not being able to ride. Ugh.

  • @LifeBeginsOnTheWater

    Did you ever get a chance to check top speed on your 19’ FX HO with the GPS?

  • @johnp1375
    @johnp1375 4 роки тому

    Hello. Can you do a comparison on the top speed of the 2019 vs 2018? I have heard the 2019s are limited to about 56 mph and 7000 to 7200 rpms. I know the 2018s can get over 60 easily. Can you confirm either way? Thanks

    im just at the point of purchasing a new 2019 but can get a good deal on a 18 from what i can see there is a fair bit of difference in the 19 but is it worth the extra money and roughly how much fuel would you burn in a day just cruising

    • @dpbaynon
      @dpbaynon  5 років тому

      The 2019 is a bit more stable at speed and has those nice foot well drains, I would go for it. There are many variables when considering fuel consumption but in general, I would say about 6 gallons per hour.

      I’ve been field testing a set of pontoons for the last 7 months on my 2015 VXR that I use for the USCG AUX. Ended up customizing the brackets & got great results, after going out on the water when no one else wants too (or can).

    • @robg7479

      Adds enough buoyancy to where a 300lb person can literally stand on the edge of the watercraft or pontoon on the sides & you cannot roll it over

      ua-cam.com/video/zrEJUYpXPXk/v-deo.html I have owned 34 foot twin inboard and 26 center-console and currently own 17 flats boat, but nothing compares to the fun I have fishing off my WaveRunner. Purchase price is way less than any boat. Maintenance is much much easier and cheaper than a boat. Shallow or deep, you can fish it. Storage, repairs and fuel consumption pale in comparison to a boat. Its not for everyone, as you must like being closer to the water, be up for a challenge and enjoy smiling all day!
