Summary:
This is a terrific document of the group shortly after the 2nd album release. They play the 2nd album in it's entirety as well as most of the first album. It's b&w, but well lit, good audio and every second of it is here. The original lineup (they look so young!) bursting with creativity on their first tour as headliners.
When they show Kate up close you can see that even though she's doing the moves making it look like she's having a good time dancing and playing, but she's actually super focused and obviously practiced intensely. She's almost scary how hard she's concentrating.
She was usually doing 3 things at once.....singing, playing bass & keyboard at the same time. Super talented.
She is so in sync with Ricky, she makes the difficult look easy.
Ricky Wilson was a really good inventive guitarist.
Ricky is definitely underrated 😎
Musicians die upon us. Definetely he played some great guitar.
Well said. He was highly underrated in my book. A phenomenal guitarist. Tragic that he died so young.
He was awesome.🙏
UGHHhhh..Cindy!!! that voice---so sexy raw and soulful. Love Cindy Wilson
I took my daughters to see Blondie for their first rock concert and the B-52’s opened for them. They were incredible and my older daughter still remembers how great they were
They have a song named Debbie in honor of Debbie Harry!
Ricky Wilson was one of the baddest guitarists of the late 70's/early 80's.
Hands down.
He's incredible man. R.I.P
This song fucking RIPS! Too good! B-52s are severely underrated from what I’ve seen
"He's got his cloven hoof on the clutch." One of the greatest lyrics ever!
My all time favorite song from them.
indeed
Agreed! "He's grinning door to door" is genius too!
Keith Strickland is an awesome drummer. 🤘🏼🔥🥁
Goddman, this song is so special. It touches so many genres if not invents them. Truly a masterpiece in my book.
🥄💩🙀😭
I was at this show!!
Me, too! Smiles!
Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta
Lucky you !!
......... I'm jealous AF..........(just so you know how lucky you were)
You lucky bastards
Brilliant !! when it finishes i am expecting quiche lorraine to start - Wild Planet still one of my all time favourite Albums
I'll always listen to the B52's 1:36 a wave of pure rock took over. Incredible band. With love always and forever. The B52's. Surreal how music can make you feel. Let's dance to this forever. There ROCKIN
I just love them!! I was so young when I heard them for the first time.. my Sister who is 10 yr older than me was playing their LP all the time!!! Thanks Sister! And thank you to the B-52's!!
Amo você Cindy Wilson !!
Damn they smashed this - an amazing live song

Girls are on it. They sound terrific!!!!
One word = spectacular. An absolute joy. As always, have a lovely evening
I cry with joy when I watch these videos.
I thought I was the only one and I’m 61. You got that right nothing but joy and memories.
Kate Pierson is a Goddess.
TIGHT. AS. FUCK! Legendary.
Why didn't they keep playing this live? It's a stone classic.
Fred felt that bad things happened when they sang it so they stopped.
@@goodtoGoNow1956 jeesh!!!!!!!
RIP Ricky
I remember these days, listening to this, driving back home at 4am jersey shore to phila from a weekend of dancing. God those were the days.
Same here. Driving back to Philly from the Poconos. After a weekenders of partying. Thank God the b52s music kept me awake. Ty
wow.....I am a huge fan, and am always surprised by this band. They are just so good. A hodge podge thrown together garage band, and I am still forever surprised by these early videos. I love this song, and what a terrific performance. Thanks for posting.
Perfection!!!!
At their absolute prime this concert
omg agreed!!!
I love ‘80-83’ performances. 👍
just so sick. amazing chemistry and skill. thanks for the video :-)
What a great song!!
Ich liebe sie immer noch!!!
Loved them in my teens over 40 years ago wow what a ride. Hellish at times this sums it all up.
"I don't need no batteries, I got the Devil in my car". I used to listen to this driving around 35 years ago in my 1971 240Z. I wonder how seriously they took themselves back then.
The B-52s were just trying to have fun playing as a group at first and they didn't think they'd get famous. It seems like once they treated it as a job (1981 or 1982, before Ricky passed) the musical style changed but I may be missing a lot of other details.
Great band, great car !!
This is really great.
What a wonderful group. I love them all.
Absolutely Stunning xx
Ow! Where ya takin' me devil?!?
awesome. just awesome
absolute perfection and brilliance
Kate's wig is wearing a wig

@@Kiharu4Reinbou Haha yes indeed.
off the fucking charts!!!
"This next one's also a dancing song." Aren't they all?
My favourite B52's song. Epic!
Amazing
Superb
Devil in my car is the best rock and roll music of B52,'s
I noticed a lot of audience members snapping pictures. Their view seems like it wasn’t obstructed too much. It’d be interesting to see how their photos turned out from this concert.
THX!
1:57: such a great, “Ohh ohh”. Shame they only do it once in this song.👍
How did this genius happen?!!!
B52 fan forever!
B52s, Talking Heads The the the Cure Pink Floyd, No other music artists can ever Beat. The Greatest Ever.x

Luv this shit!! Fucking Great!
Just when you think it can’t get any better, Fred ends with the satanic wiper-blade. They are such serious fun!
probably the go-go's😘
I don't need no battery, I got the devil in my car. 🤣
I don't need no battery - I've got the DEVIL in my car!
B52's have reached nuclear fusion in each and every song
Herrlicher Krach
Pointing that pitch fork at me
I don't need no battery in my car
I got the devil 😈 in my cigarette lighter also
Where did his mustache go?
Who ripped my upholstery?
Freeway to hell
what ever band whenever had 2 female lead singers?
ABBA
Warpaint in an another trip
Fleetwood Mac
@@michaelerickson985 actually liked abba
@@cathridge ok that's good.
They should have just put this version on the second album. Wild Planet has some great songs on it but the production is kind of flat and muted, sucking the energy out of this and several others.
I dont need no battery
