    While playing around with this move I realized that you can manipulate it to reverse half the pack. If you do the classic slopp shuffle (I think that’s what it’s called?) where it looks like you mix face up and face down but really it just ends in half the deck reversed (you can see where I’m going with this), then do the manipulates version of the move. You could do some sort of wave or misdirection to cover the move and snap to show all cards are facing the same direction once again. GREAT TUTORIAL! It was very well taught and thanks to you I got it right away, just need more practice on the smoothness and doing it faster. I would love to hear your insight about creating a name for yourself as a magician (figuratively and literally)!

    Took me almost a year but i finally learnt it. I like to use this as a secret sleight behind my back.
    What I do is get my break and then I tell the spectator I will control their card to the top using only one hand and then I do the shift behind my back. Gets lit reactions

    Will still opt for the classic pass, herman pass, or really any other variation of the pass before this one. I will still do my best to learn the move for fun and because practicing sleight of hand improves sleight of hand. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @robertafettuccine
    @robertafettuccine Рік тому

    If you keep your index finger and third finger where they are and don't move them (only to pull down on the bottom packet) so your third finger never leaves the edge of the deck, you don't have to move it out sleightly at an angle. The whole move can be done square and with more speed and control. Then you can literally throw the packet just over the top of the deck so part of it will land on the ball or soft part of the palm part of the thumb. Then you can swing your little finger under the bottom deck and pass it again. At speed it can look like a nice one time cut, when in fact it's two. It's hard and can be messy to begin with but boy does it feel good when you nail it. (I hope this made sense). I don't know what it is called but Huston Curtis teached it on his KardSharp channel in the video "One Handed Pass/Shift Tutorial". It's a real sweet one but not easy.

  • @studiopanpan5797
    @studiopanpan5797 4 роки тому

    Hey Alex, first : thanks for this tutorial. I think it can ben useful if you need to put the card below the deck, on top of the one which is on the top of the deck, to give the impression that it is fairly lost and still be able to find it face up. Or as you said, to cheat at poker if you have put one Ace on top and you want to undo the cut of another player before you deal and second deal you the ace.

    • @slikric83
      @slikric83 4 роки тому +6

      Adarsh Verma it’s because you can’t do a charlier cut upside down or at an angle. The cards will fall. A cheat would use this technique under the guise of rolling up their sleeves before dealing.

    I would try to wrap my thumb around the deck, split it, pull back the top with the thumb and then clip the bottom with the index, middle and ring. I guess that would be a thumb cut then.

  • @DadBodDrumming
    @DadBodDrumming 4 роки тому

    I read the instructions as a kid and have been doing it the way I figured ever since. But its different from what you teach. I never straddle but go straight into the thumb clip. And then PUSH the top half toward the thumb while also using the thumb to apply pressure to the outer corner. This creates leverage. Then using the ring finger under the bottom packet I push up. The leverage created by the downward thumb pressure and the upward ring finger pressure separates the 2 halves. The only trick is that the lifting of the bottom packet will have a tendency to drag out the bottom card of the upper packet. This is only cured with practice.

  • @Pumbear

    Lol turns out i figured out this trick out by myself, the only difference is that I grab the opposite long end of the deck with my thumb instead of stradling the corner. It's like a tenkai palm, but you hold half of the deck instead of 1 card. And then all you do is drop the bottom half and flip it over top. It has the feel of an inverted charlier cut.
