I got the wheel stand on the righ hand side along with the moza r5 bundle as a starter kit for sim racing. I accepted all the cons of the wheel stand for the ease of storage. I may only get a rig if I am serious about this hobby down the road. I dont have much time for gaming.
I would like to see some flip out outriggers on wheel stands. They would stability, but could easily fold in. No one is doing it yet, but it is such a simple and effective solution to add stability.
Or you could spend £60 on a VEVOR WS-P02, that is almost identical to the heavy duty NLR pro wheelstand in every way. 19kg of unmovable steel. Also folds up for storage would you wish. Mine is static, got the NLR monitor stand and a gaming chair in the castor tray, the arms upside down and bungied to the frame to fix the chair rotation. It works.
Wow, then I got a huge deal. That's a real shame though. I just looked on the VEVOR website and they have it for $145.99. still way more than I paid though tbf. @@KarlGosling
I came across one for 60$ on Google. Not sure how trustworthy the shop is though. NLR 2.0 must be about 30 kg with all the gear on. I wonder if anyone would want to fold it, but as they say "Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable." 😉
There is a new 60.00 stand for racing Sims it's all black and supports the g29 wheel and many others for 60.00 us it's heavy duty plate steel welded construction way better then these but these are not bad as well so they both have there perks
That left hand system doesn't need a wheel cup as you'd just drop 1 or 2 of your wheels on the inside of the bar. The cup is only useful when braking, so that bar will be more than adequate. Edit: Ah you got it in the end! Haha! Sorry Karl! Keep up the great videos. Looking forward to seeing more in the other channel too.
My diwangus stand looks an exact copy to the stand without a chair leg cup! I would say it is stable for 5 nm but 8 nm is pushing it a bit. My dd pro 8 nm starts to slide away and rocks when you get in to intense racing, so next big purchase will be a sim demon cockpit.
Yeah sounds about right mate. Sim Demon do not make cockpits (assuming you mean Sim Demon UK), but they do supply quite a few of the usual manufacturers so plenty of choice.
I think you're supposed to put two castor wheels inside of the rim of the second wheel stand that you didn't try setting up in. Unless the wheelbase of your chair is too wide to fit two wheels. Which could be a little more stable maybe?
Hey Karl, I recently came across your channel and I think you make great videos, thanks for that! I've been enjoying sim racing on the PC for half a year now and back then I got the G29 with shifter. I played the whole thing on a cockpit just like the one in your video, just without the chair mount. It's just annoying me now that my chair keeps slipping away when I brake and the angle of the steering wheel and pedals is difficult to adjust. In the future, however, I might want to switch to a Fanatec 8nm. I'm thinking about switching to one of the following models for my birthday: 1. Playseat Challenge X Logitech (good durability as it's just fabric?) 2. Playseat Evolution M or Pro (I don't understand the difference). 3. Next Level Racing Victory I want a stable racing set that won't shake my driving much in the future, in this price range and will last a long time, but is also easy to store, as I don't have enough space to leave it permanently assembled. What would you say would be the smartest thing for me? I would be very happy to hear your feedback :) Best regards from Germany, Alex
If you need a folding cockpit there will always be flex but look at the GT Omega Sprint, this is my choice for a folding option right now ua-cam.com/video/3aNliNVhRrs/v-deo.html
@ Is the GT Omega Sprint much better than the Playseat Challenge x Logitech? Because the shipping costs 30€ to me to Germany. Then it would be 40€ more expensive than the Playseat, is it worth it? And is it compatible with the G29?
The difference in wheel stands is significant, one Chinese knock off brand sent me a gtomega clone that was solid, then another sent an unuseable floppy piece of garbage...
Thank you karl for you taking time out of your life to give us a awesome review. God Bless you man
My pleasure!

I actually thought exactly this whilst editing the video and watching me wobble it side to side!
Since we are in the budget segment, do you think you can review some cheap ebay sim rig seats pls 😅

The only place with that right now has it at $233!

@@torchingurchin157works for me, nothing moves at all. It is a beast.
@@torchingurchin157I have never folded it up once. Too much effort. It can though....

Great video and review per usual! keep it up!

Thx for the video Karl. Do you know if there will be a review from the GT Omega Sprint (foldable) before black friday ends? Greetings
Hopefully later this week yes!
@ looking forward 🙏🏻

Yes two didn't fit but one did, you see me try it in the video and explain it mate.
I hope that shipping container has more reviews for this and your new channel mate 😅
😆

bought the one on the right decent bit of kit for the money, get a rig tho folks if you got the room putting shit away is always a pain in the ass
Yes mate it does, someone didn't watch the whole video ;) lol
Thanks for the video but it would have been nice for you to set up the other wheel stand and test it as well.
They are almost identical as explained so no need.
@KarlGosling well I disagree. Would have liked to see how much flex the pedals had atleast.
Hi Karl any chance of a Thrustmaster T598 review?
When I have the money to buy one in yes.
Hi Karl, will you be reviewing the gt omega prime lite r?
Yes, it arrived yesterday mate!
@KarlGosling excellent! Can't wait
Currently on eBay, similar/same product £53

Yeah my experience also!
