The hip belt is good when you need it. I usually leave it behind when I fly because it is a pain in the overhead with a full bag. It is an extra purchase, so a lot of folks may not have purchased it.
im looking into getting this too. My arc tyrex Brize 25L has not lived up to my expectations. my question is the only difference between the xpac and the travel pack 3 is the Water proof option? thank you great video
Afrobian, I don't know what the other material is like, but as @christian cepeda says, this is water proof. I don't think the rain cover is really needed for this unless you are taking it swimming, scuba diving, or into some real torrential rains. I don't see how water can even get into the zippers on this thing. I just got back from taking it to Cuba for about 10 days and it was great.
You are right about that Christian. It is just a special sail material that is water-proof-ish. :) I think it is water resistant, but when I have walked in light rain, the water just rolls off. I haven't been in a hurricane or a drenching rainstorm yet, so I don't know. :)
The bag is mostly-waterproof. Like being mostly-dead from the movie The Princess Bride. I travel to some places in Mexico and hopefully soon to Southeast Asia, like Thailand, that when they get rain, they aren’t messing around. I live in an area that gets about 6 inches of rain a year. The waterproofing on the bag is good enough for that. But, if I am in Cancun or Orlando when there is a tropical storm or a baby-hurricane, I want to be able to cover this up and not have to worry about my clothes and laptop getting wet. I also have seen where I DONT buy something like that at the time of purchase, then it isn’t available later. So there is a FOMO issue there too. I have not used it yet. I have been in Oregon during some light rain, but if I know I’m traveling somewhere that is expecting a bunch of rain, I’ll take it with me … I hope that helps!
@@mexicocallsI haven't received it yet, but I also ordered the rain cover with the x-pac. Smart man, not waterproof at all from what I have read from other users. Most water resistant version of the bag, but the zippers after long duration in a heavy rain, apparently still leak. Edit: What are your thoughts on this bag after having it for awhile?
@@Element9846 I love the bag. I think I mentioned that I have used it on trips to Cuba, Mexico, Dallas, Salt Lake City, business, pleasure, family, you name it. I really like it and I would buy again!
Omg finally someone made this video with the HIP BELT!! Other so called “professional” reviewers all neglected this important feature. Thank you sir!!

very thorough review! thanks
Thank you. I am glad you like it.

yes, that is the only difference. just in case you didn't know.. x-pac is the material used on a sail boat - the main sail
@@christiancepeda5457 very interesting I didn’t know what. I’m happier with my purchase now ☺️

@Afrobian which one did you get? Tell me what you think about it!
Is this the regular one(35L) or small(28L)? Thanks.
You can see from the straps distance to the top of the bag that it is the regular for sure
It is the regular one.
I love this backpack so much

@@mexicocalls my kind of feeling too. Having not seen a test of the bag in a tropical storm, I hate being caught in one when abroad.
