I so appreciate your honest, direct style of communication. Macdougal got me to pay attention to many of these details, you are helping me to look much deeper into these issues ! Thanks Peter !
The little mouse illustration is much cuter than the human with the CPAP on their face. ( That’s how beautiful I feel when I wear mine, but I no longer feel like death warmed over each morning when I wake up…so I’m going to keep wearing it.)
I saw a YT video where someone thought playing a digerido…I can’t spell it correctly…would strengthen the muscles in the throat and help decrease sleep apnea…I bought a piece of small PVC pipe about 2’ long and thought it couldn’t hurt to try it.
@@PeterRogersMD thank you. I will start working on that right away. I was not overweight when I was diagnosed, Im a bit heavier than optimal now. I’m not diabetic, my A1C is 5.9. Still, room for improvement.
For myself, I would try to optimize diet and lifestyle as much as possible, and try to cure it if possible. As we get older, we get more fragile; so it's good to be as healthy as possible. To build up some reserve health = become more durable.
1) I noticed in many cases (not all) sleep apnea is caused by excess weight. Do you believe significant weight loss, improved nutrition, and physical activity can cure sleep apnea? 2) If sleep apnea is treated will the brain damage be stopped? 3) if the sleep apnea is cured from weight loss, diet etc can the brain damage be reversed?
I'm 60 yo. I still lift weights every week with hi rep squats. I can easily run up 10 flights of stairs. I can still wrestle (not like I used to, but I still can). I'm aging better than all the doctors and nurses and technologists in my age range that I know (that's a lot of them).
Great work as usual to da most underrated non conventional human anatomy Investigator!

If I had OSA (obstructive sleep apnea), I would optimize bodyweight, and avoid things that cause insulin resistance (diabetes).

But if you are being treated for it with CPAP therapy is it still negatively affecting your health?

One might as well try to reverse it with a healthy diet.
You don’t look so healthy
i disagree, for a dude in his 60's and as healthy as he is, Dr. Rogers i think looks healthy
@@dawseyboy1 He looks unwell
