It's not that they can't give all of their parks love, it's that they choose not to. The reality is that certain parks, such as Worlds of Fun or Michigan's Adventure, simply don't draw in high enough attendance to make it financially feasible to build ground up coasters every few years.
I would hope that Six Flags would be bought out by a bunch of smaller new companies, many of which family owned, rather than the existing large chains.
It would be unfortunate to see Six Flags go, as they were a very important chain to the history of amusement parks, but I feel like a lot of their parks would be better off under different owners. I like the idea of Palace owning the smaller parks in the chain, as they would care for them a lot more than Cedar Fair would. I also think that Herschend could play a factor if they did go out of business. I think Frontier City would fit very well in the Herschend chain.
If Six Flags went out of business I would fear that the parks under cedar fair and sea world would start to get more neglected since there is less competition, making it easier to just sit back and collect money and not add anything new.
I think Sea World won’t neglect most of their new parks. The only option would probably be Discovery Kingdom but other than that, the parks they acquired are really profitable. As for Cedar Fair, well they probably neglect the smaller parks like St. Louis or the water parks. But they will keep an eye out for SF Mexico, and SF Over Texas. Mexico has only one major park (from what I heard) and millions of people visit SF Mexico every year which makes it really profitable. There’s no competition but by adding more additions, it could draw in more people, even internationally! As for Over Texas, Sea world now owns 2/3 of the major parks in Texas. It would increase in competition, which would make Cedar Fair spend more money on the park. Then there’s mid-sized parks that will have a coaster drought but won’t be entirely neglected like New England or Over Georgia. SF America would probably get neglected at first, but I hope they realize that they are literally next to major cities, turning the park into a Carowinds like situation. Idk about SF Great America. It’s really unpredictable. Frontier City and Darien Lake would likely go back to what they were before Six Flags “purchased” them again.
An interesting scenario! I’ll just say that I don’t think that Six Flags will go out of business but it is interesting to think about what would happen. Also Discovery Kingdom would be much better as a SeaWorld park.
6 flags is coming back in a major way. We're opening up in other states on June 5th and in Illinois on June 11. Fresh revamp, new strategies, and new revenue streams
They have until 2024 to pay their debts off, but there might be issues with doing so and they could lose parks by that point. It is very likely that they could sell off parks and cut back on attractions. Cedar fair and Merlin could grab up some SF parks. also SWSD already has Manta which is a Mack launch.... Sf might go back to hershend fro the SFOT sell and all of that! Seaworld would likely just buy discovery kingdom and MAAAYYYBE great adventure CF's aquisations might be an issue however, unless if it's just a few
Ok I would honestly love this (not that I want to see Six Flags go but if this happened I wouldn’t be like devastated) my home park (Six Flags Over Georgia) was not mentioned in the SeaWorld list. Now obviously I would be completely ok with Six Flags Over Georgia being a SeaWorld park but to see my home park be a Cedar Fair park. That would be incredible. Now prices would go up but now I’m getting quality over quantity. BTW If this comes to be your literally an upright genius. Also i think your a very underrated UA-camr.
I somewhat agree with all this - I just don’t see all the parks being sold though. I think at least some of them will pulled apart and rides sold separately.
My (month late) hypothetical scenario: Herschend: Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Texas Resort (a new hotel is built near the park) Frontier City and Hurricane Harbor OC -> Frontier City and White Water OC The Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Great Escape Lodge -> The Great Escape & White Water NY and Great Escape Lodge Seaworld Entertainment: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom & Hurricane Harbor Concord -> Busch Gardens San Francisco & Aquatica California Six Flags Great Adventure & Hurricane Harbor NJ -> Busch Gardens Jackson & Aquatica Jackson Cedar Fair: Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor LA -> Magic Mountain & Soak City LA Six Flags Mexico & Hurrican Harbor Oaxtepec -> Reino Aventura & Soak City Oaxtepec Six Flags New England -> Riverside Park Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> Schlitterbahn Phoenix (The company also wins the naming and operating bids to the parks in China and Saudi Arabia.) Palace Entertainment: Six Flags America -> Adventure World Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Raging Waters Rockford Village Roadshow: Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> Wet'n'Wild SplashTown White Water -> Wet'n'Wild Atlanta Merlin Entertainment: (first American theme parks to be owned by the chain not apart of the Legoland brand) Six Flags Great America -> Merlin's Great America (kids areas and waterpark are rethemed into a Lego theme) Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake Resort (a new hotel and a massive garden are added to the property) Independent: As the original three parks, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags St. Louis (renamed Six Flags Over Mid-America) and their adjoining Hurricane Harbor water parks are able to keep the Six Flags names and Warner Bros. licensing but are independent theme parks owned by local investors/entities from each' region. La Ronde is operated and owned by a Quebec-based investment group working in partnership with the City of Montreal.
In you hypothetical situation, I dont know if Cedar Fair would acquire Six Flags Great America. As they have the other one (though, I can see why they would too) and with it being pretty close to Michigan's Adventure (4 hrs away). Maybe it could be like Great America being the more thrill and MA being the more family. Nevertheless, good video.
If Six Flags goes out of business and other companies buy their parks, the overall quality of what is considered an “amusement park” would go much higher.
It would be cool that cedar fair bought six flags Mexico, it'd probably go back to it's original name (reino aventura) and finally get good rides, the last good thing added was the RMC back in 2014, I'd love a B&M there even being a giga, it'd be amazing
SeaWorld having San Antonio's park would be amazing. That whole complex would really benefit seaworld. They could bring up Fiesta Texas to its true potential as it is already so beautiful and become a major draw to Texas. Kinda like the Univeral parks.
I’m actually curious as to what would happen to over Texas since it was the original six flags park. Like would it keep the name? Would it keep its theming? (Especially the DC theming) How different would it be? Would it be better or worse? Etc.
Honestly I think that if six flags does go defunct, RMC will probably suffer a lot because most of their profit comes from adding hybrids to six flags parks. Of course, they have recently started working with other amusement parks such as cedar fair, so maybe I’m wrong.
3:19 My names for the parks you say Sea World acquires: Six Flags Magic Mountain -> Fiesta Valley Los Angeles Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Valley San Antonio Six Flags Great Adventure -> Discovery World Jackson Six Flags Discovery Kingdom -> Discovery World Vallejo

4:59 My names for the rest of the Six Flags parks with "Six Flags" in their current name: Six Flags America -> American Adventure Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake Six Flags Great America -> Chicago's Great America Six Flags Mexico -> Fiesta Valley Mexico City Six Flags New England -> New England Riverside Six Flags Over Georgia -> Depends on who buys this property Six Flags Over Texas: -> Six Flags Over Texas (since a businessman from Dallas running the park would buy the rights to the "Six Flags" name) Six Flags St. Louis -> Mid-American Adventure Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> Aquatica Los Angeles Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington -> Depends on who buys this property Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> Aquatica Jackson Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> Aquatica Oaxtepec Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord -> Aquatica Concord Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> Depends on who buys this property Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> Depends on who buys this property (Schlitterbahn if Cedar Fair buys the property) Six Flags White Water -> Depends on who buys this property Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> Depends on who buys this property (Schlitterbahn Oklahoma City if Cedar Fair buys the property, could also be H2OKC) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Depends on who buys this property Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park -> The Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park
My new version of my take on where the parks, the Six Flags name, and the DC and Looney Tunes licensing will go if Six Flags went bankrupt: Current property -> The Buyer -> Name After Buyout Frontier City -> EPR Properties -> Frontier City La Ronde -> Palace Entertainment -> La Ronde Six Flags America -> EPR Properties -> American Adventure Six Flags Darien Lake -> EPR Properties -> Darien Lake Six Flags Discovery Kingdom -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Discovery World Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens San Antonio Six Flags Great Adventure -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Busch Gardens New Jersey Six Flags Great America -> Cedar Fair -> Chicago's Great America Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark -> Palace Entertainment -> The Great Escape Lodge Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington -> State Fair of Texas -> Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord -> EPR Properties -> Waterworld California Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica Los Angeles Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica New Jersey Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica Oaxtepec Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> EPR Properties -> White Water Bay Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> EPR Properties -> Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Rockford Park District -> Magic Waters Waterpark Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> EPR Properties -> Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown Six Flags Magic Mountain -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens Los Angeles Six Flags Mexico -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens Mexico City Six Flags New England -> Cedar Fair -> New England Riverside Six Flags Over Georgia -> Herschend Family Entertainment -> Southern Empire Theme Park Six Flags Over Texas -> State Fair of Texas -> Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags St. Louis -> EPR Properties -> Mid-American Adventure Six Flags White Water -> Herschend Family Entertainment -> White Water Georgia The Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor -> Palace Entertainment -> The Great Escape The Six Flags Over Texas land would be bought by the State Fair of Texas with the park being managed by a DFW-area businessman that would also get the rights to the "Six Flags" and "Hurricane Harbor" names. Warner Bros would also start building their own theme parks in the USA, Warner Bros already has theme parks in Germany, United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
My final version of my take on where the parks, the Six Flags name, and the DC and Looney Tunes licensing will go if Six Flags went bankrupt: BUYER Current Property -> Name After Buyout (Alternative Name After Buyout) CEDAR FAIR Six Flags Great America -> Chicago's Great America Six Flags New England -> Riverside (Riverside Park) HERSCHEND FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT Six Flags Over Georgia -> Southern Empire Theme Park (Southern Empire City) Six Flags White Water -> White Water Georgia (Peach Beach) PALACE ENTERTAINMENT La Ronde -> La Ronde Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark -> The Great Escape Lodge The Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor -> The Great Escape PREMIER PARKS, LLC Frontier City -> Frontier City Six Flags America -> American Adventure (Adventure World) Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington -> Wet ‘n’ Wild Arlington Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord -> Waterworld California (Wet ‘n’ Wild Concord) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> White Water Bay (Wet ‘n’ Wild Oklahoma City) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Magic Waters Waterpark (Wet ‘n’ Wild Rockford) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown Six Flags St. Louis -> Mid-American Adventure SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT Six Flags Discovery Kingdom -> Discovery World (SeaWorld San Fransisco) Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Gardens San Antonio (Fiesta Valley San Antonio) Six Flags Great Adventure -> Busch Gardens New Jersey Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> Aquatica Los Angeles (Fiesta Costa Los Angeles) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> Aquatica New Jersey (Garden Shores) Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> Aquatica Oaxtepec (Fiesta Costa Oaxtepec) Six Flags Magic Mountain -> Fiesta Gardens Los Angeles (Fiesta Valley Los Angeles) Six Flags Mexico -> Fiesta Gardens Mexico City (Fiesta Valley Mexico City) The Six Flags Over Texas land would be bought by the State Fair of Texas with the park being managed by a DFW-area businessman that would also buy the rights to the "Six Flags" name. Warner Bros would also start building their own theme parks in the USA, Warner Bros already has theme parks in Germany, United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
As a bonus, if Six Flags bought MarineLand, it would be renamed Six Flags Over Canada. So if Six Flags had to sell that park after buying it. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment would buy it and rename it either SeaWorld Niagara Falls or Discovery World Niagara Falls.
I figured since SeaWorld is spending so much on there parks... they would be the first to get new properties. But I like what your saying, and hey, Cedar Fair would do a great job with both those parks!
Theme Park Media I’m from the UK (England) but I still cannot forgive CF for what they did to poor old, historic Geuga Lake. I have a soft spot for Six Flags and think their former Mr Six advertising campaigns were the most inventive ever in the business. Magic Mountain’s still my favourite park (with its Walley World cinematic fame). Let’s hope we can Go Big with Six Flags for some while yet. Without the chain influencing their former SF Holland and Belgium parks I think they would’ve been slower to attain some world class coasters in Europe too.
@@martinporter4980 CF bought Geauga knowing they would shut it down in order to get rid of any Six Flags competition with Cedar Point. It would supposedly also be profitable for Cedar Fair to relocate all the rides from geauga lake to its other properties. CF won't go for Magic Mountain since even though its close to Knott's, Magic Mountain is on a different level than Geauga Lake and they wouldn't just close Magic Mountain like that. It would make much more sense though for SeaWorld to buy it and make it a Busch Gardens park.
This is a great subject. It would be very sad as even though they may be the king of clones they still have some great parks. Cedar Fair is still better obviously.
I think that Six Flags parks would fit in better in the Cedar Fair chain with the exception of SFDK and SFGAdv although I would love to see what Cedar Fair could do to GAdv
Great video! This is my go to channel for lockdown. Can’t wait for the next vid! I’ve always wondered what will happen when they go bankrupt because it will happen eventually.
1. Magic Mountain won't get animals lol. The park already has great scenery and some sorta themed lands, they would definitely be labelled as a Busch park - Busch Gardens Magic Mountain, Busch Gardens Valencia, Busch Gardens Los Angeles... or maybe just Magic Mountain. 2. SeaWorld can't own another marine life park within a certain range of miles as part of an agreement with San Diego, and Discovery Kingdom is in that range. I don't think SeaWorld or Cedar Fair will purchase that park. Maybe Herschend, Palace, or Fun Spot. Or maybe it can go independent like Kentucky Kingdom!
1. There WAS many years ago a Busch gardens in SoCal, so getting back in the market would be an opportunity. 2. Buying magic mountain is probably a high eight low nine digit transaction.
This is an optimistic take. More than likely they'd sell off parks like La Ronde, Six Flags St Luis, Six Flags America, along with recent aquisitions like Frontier City and Darien Lake to developers and relocate whatever they could. Great Escape would also likely be sold off although since the big industry in the Adarondaks is tourism it would stay open under some resort operator focusing on the giant hotel outside and a campground (if they don't already have one) on site. It's unlikely the park would ever get new rides but that's not much different from how it is now. At least Comet would survive.
I read somewhere that SFOT and SFOG aren't actually owned by Six Flags entertainment and during the last bankruptcy it was said that if the company wasn't able to emerge from bankruptcy that the investor group that owns those two parks would be allowed to continue to operate using the Six Flags name.
I personally see Cedar Fair being the bigger buyer opposed to SeaWorld. I think Cedar Fair would want Great Adventure in particular. I think Magic Mountain would be a little difficult to completely rebrand to SeaWorld's specifications, and while Cedar Fair might not want to have another park right next to Knott's Berry Farm, they could snap that up to get a tighter grip on the market, similar to how SeaWorld could do the same for Fiesta Texas in San Antonio
If six flags went out of business, this would be my story: Disney-Six Flags America (Disneyland Baltimore), Darien Lake (Disneyland Buffalo) Universal-New England (Universal Studios New England), St. Louis (Universal Studios St. Louis), La Ronde (Universal Studios Canada) Cedar Fair-Over Texas (Valley Point), Six Flags Mexico (Reino Aventura), Great America (Illinois' Great America) SeaWorld-Agreed with everything (SFMM, SFGAD, SFDK, SFFT) Palace Entertainment-Great Escape, Frontier City (I really don't expect the name of these parks to change) Herscend- Six Flags Over Georgia [Mirror Mountain(I actually had to use a park name generator for this one)]
I'm not so sure about La Ronde and Great Escape, while you do make a good case, the firm that owns both Granby Zoo and SkiBromount (and its water park) is trying to expand within the tourism market, and the parks are the exact type of acquisition they would jump at if it presented itself given it's the exact type of attractions catering to the very market they're trying to expand into.
Six Flags would more likely be bought by a private equity group which would retain the Six Flags branding, focus on the most profitable parks and either neglect or sell off the others. I don't think Cedar Fair or Sea World want to acquire multiple North American parks, and it's probably not cost-effective to transform those parks to fit their brands. Any new owner will want to operate those parks under the Six Flags brand with a belief that they can manage the business more competently.
I think great adventure would be themed to north and south america They have a frontier area (that's pretty good for six flags) They have the golden kingdom (rethemed to a south american jungle) They have the mexican area And they could theme the boardwalk to the tropics and the lakefrot area to forests and the nitro area to the arctic
If Six Flags were to go out, I'd expect Herschend to buy Frontier City from Six Flags, due to it already having a consistent them, like the other Herschend parks do.
I hope Six Flags sticks around. I love their pricing and though the food isn't the best overall, there are some good options. I love the somewhat ghetto, laid back feel of the parks and it all comes at a great price if you get their membership and dining passes.
I realistically would think that the investors in Over Texas and Over Georgia might take the Six Flags name and also take Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, Great America, and any leases (La Ronde, Darien Lake, and Frontier City being the main ones. Could take St. Louis because it was one of the originals like the ones they bought into). Could possibly terminate DC IP anyway. Discovery Kingdom and Fiesta could still go to SeaWorld as SeaWorld San Francisco and Busch Gardens San Antonio-send Great White to San Deigo. Palace could still take Great Escape (and Frontier City if they really wanted, as well as Six Flags New Orleans-scratch that). Palace's parent company, Parques Reunidos would operate Six Flags Mexico as Parque Warner Mexico or Movie Park Mexico so it could keep the DC comics IP which Great Escape and Frontier City don't have to deal with. Cedar Fair would take a lot of the smaller parks such as New England (reverted to Riverside Park), America (park was once called Adventure World, could call it America's Adventure). I'd still close White Water Bay to expand Fiesta Texas and add a hotel. White Water Atlanta will probably be returned to Hershend.
I don't imagine Sea World picking up Magic Mountain. Sea World San Diego is honestly picking up the table scraps of Disneyland. ... so if you put a park that's equidistance North? You'll effectively cannibalize the market source. My own hunch would be that Six Flags would sell off EVERYTHING except magic mountain and Over Texas (maybe 1 other crown jewel) ... and if they don't get sold off they'd get abandoned. With increased competition from even small parks putting in destination coasters, I don't really imagine a McDonald's themepark lasting in the future.
Remember that SF doesn't own SFDL or FC, Only the management rights and SF can't sell La Ronde because they are in a lease agreement, the bankruptcy would have to see them buying their way out of it. Six Flags Magic Mountain was actually going to be sold during the first bankruptcy for housing developments. Great Escape would maybe be better off, but at the same time, remember that Premier went nuts when they bought the park and renamed other properties, like Riverside to include Great Escape in the name, Riverside Great Escape, It's a really profitable park and is in the middle of a tourist town.
If cedar fair got six flag parks I would no longer be able to go. I've been taking kids to six flags since they started. Went to Disneyland the day they opened.
My Bar Mitzvah is soon and instead of a party I am going to busch Gardens Tampa, Seaworld Orlando, Universal/Islands of Adventure, and all 4 Disney World Parks
To be fair, I dont think they would sell Magic Mountain. But here is a theory, they know people like great adventure, so even though its an elite park, they might sell that over something like America that nobody would buy
My first hope would be that Cedar Fair decides to partner with Six Flags just like what almost happened last fall. But I honestly don't see that happening at all. I think the only reason they're having this problem is because of the COVID-19 pandemic and this same thing is causing problems for all the other companies as well. Once it's over, I am more than confident things will go back to normal. Besides, they emerged from bankruptcy before so they're more than capable of emerging from this as well.
Fantastic video! Probably the best yet. I don’t think SeaWorld would get SFMM because it definitely seems like a cedar fair move, but everything else sounds great!
I think SFOT should be sold to a company with large capital to invest in new attractions and park improvements. The park is in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas, and the city of Arlington is so desperate to look like a world-class city that it will likely throw money at the project.
Another great video. They’re just so high quality and entertaining. One thing though. You said that SeaWorld San Diego would get a Mack launch coaster even though they already have one. I know that was a very tiny part of the video but I just had to point it out
Great Adventure/Busch Gardens Jackson: I'd keep the gate USA, but the colonies. Ka/Zu area is Brazil, Plaza Del Carnival is Mexico, Frontier Adventures is split between Potosi and Wild Safari (could also keep it a drive through permanently so they could give Bizarro some TLC and retheme it to the Chupacabra). Bugs Bunny National Park would be added to Potosi with the area around Jersey Devil being Sesame Street and an Arctic Area (Nitro is North Star, Jersey Devil is emperor, Rapids are Blizzard River). "Dream Street"/Boardwalk is the mid-west in the 1950's, Movie Town/DC Universe/Gothem City/Metropolis is themed to classic Hollywood, Adventure Alley/Lakefront is based off Playland/PNE and Expo '86 in Vancouver.
It's close to Sesame Place, but we'll see how well the Aquatica conversion goes w/ Sesame in San Deigo (the original is landlocked. The only things they can do w/o removing something is build a parking garage where their main lot is now, move offices into the mall to get more land on the other side of the lake-possibly do a new entrance [doubles parks size from 20 to 42 acres]. They could remove Sesame Streak and build a water slide that takes advantage of the strip of land where Bucktown Road is). If they got Great Adventure, the Sesame Places would rot for long periods without ride investments going from 3 SeaWorlds and 2 Busch Gardens to 5 SeaWorlds (3 in CA [I probably wouldn't have chosen to Magic Mountain to go to SeaWorld in any timeline, but you do you], San Antonio Gate, Orlando) and 4 Busch Gardens (VA, Tampa, San Antonio Gate, Great Adv.
I would give anything to have my home parks (Great Adventure and New England) run by sea world or cedar fair. Both parks are honestly great places but god damn... they could be so much better
@@dominofive5075 Six Flags literally just tried to buy Cedar Fair a few months ago, and Cedar Fair told them to kick rocks lol. It's not ever happening.
my home park is Six flags great adventure 😭 it would HURT to see it go, so many memories but question IF this was to happen why couldn’t Disney expand but maybe not as a Disney park but use what they’ve gotten from the Fox purchase to make a park separate and use IP’s from the Fox name?? is that a possibility??

Nobody:
Cedar Fair, Disney, Universal, Sea World and Busch in 2024:
“We did it boys, Six Flags is no more.”
yeah but no one of that parks can replace SF great adventure
The Seaworld company owns the Busch parks.
Why would cedar point be able to refurbish a bunch of six flags parks if they don’t even have enough to give all of their current parks love
It's not that they can't give all of their parks love, it's that they choose not to. The reality is that certain parks, such as Worlds of Fun or Michigan's Adventure, simply don't draw in high enough attendance to make it financially feasible to build ground up coasters every few years.

I know cedar fair is owning everything they need stiff competition take carowinds for example they need competition there
Lmao SeaWorld San Diego with the double Mack multi launch 😂
this giving me new england flashbacks

Herschend would probably buy Over Georgia and Frontier City, and maybe New England.
Also Darien Lake since they managed that park already
I think Palace would take over New England as well, as they already have Lake Compounce which is only a half hour from there
Hey if SFOG finally gets a launch, I ain’t complaining.
There actually used to be a Busch Gardens in LA but this one would be much better 😆
Well there stocks are going up because Frontier City is opening on June 5

BTW If this comes to be your literally an upright genius. Also i think your a very underrated UA-camr.
I somewhat agree with all this - I just don’t see all the parks being sold though. I think at least some of them will pulled apart and rides sold separately.
Yeah. A lot or all of the smaller parks will get pieced out.
My (month late) hypothetical scenario:
Herschend:
Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Texas Resort (a new hotel is built near the park)
Frontier City and Hurricane Harbor OC -> Frontier City and White Water OC
The Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Great Escape Lodge -> The Great Escape & White Water NY and Great Escape Lodge
Seaworld Entertainment:
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom & Hurricane Harbor Concord -> Busch Gardens San Francisco & Aquatica California
Six Flags Great Adventure & Hurricane Harbor NJ -> Busch Gardens Jackson & Aquatica Jackson
Cedar Fair:
Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor LA -> Magic Mountain & Soak City LA
Six Flags Mexico & Hurrican Harbor Oaxtepec -> Reino Aventura & Soak City Oaxtepec
Six Flags New England -> Riverside Park
Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> Schlitterbahn Phoenix
(The company also wins the naming and operating bids to the parks in China and Saudi Arabia.)
Palace Entertainment:
Six Flags America -> Adventure World
Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Raging Waters Rockford
Village Roadshow:
Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> Wet'n'Wild SplashTown
White Water -> Wet'n'Wild Atlanta
Merlin Entertainment:
(first American theme parks to be owned by the chain not apart of the Legoland brand)
Six Flags Great America -> Merlin's Great America (kids areas and waterpark are rethemed into a Lego theme)
Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake Resort (a new hotel and a massive garden are added to the property)
Independent:
As the original three parks, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags St.
I think “Busch Gardens Los Angeles” is a better fit for Magic Mountain Than Seaworld Los Angeles imo. Otherwise great video!
Same. They could try a World's Fair type thing with the steam punk district and X2. Would be very interesting
If Six Flags goes out of business and other companies buy their parks, the overall quality of what is considered an “amusement park” would go much higher.
Oh hell yeah.
It would be cool that cedar fair bought six flags Mexico, it'd probably go back to it's original name (reino aventura) and finally get good rides, the last good thing added was the RMC back in 2014, I'd love a B&M there even being a giga, it'd be amazing
And maybe replace the boomerang with a raptor
SeaWorld having San Antonio's park would be amazing. That whole complex would really benefit seaworld. They could bring up Fiesta Texas to its true potential as it is already so beautiful and become a major draw to Texas. Kinda like the Univeral parks.
in my opinion my home six flags has the best breadsticks to ever reach this planet
I’m actually curious as to what would happen to over Texas since it was the original six flags park.
Like would it keep the name?
Would it keep its theming? (Especially the DC theming)
How different would it be?
Would it be better or worse?
Etc.
Honestly I think that if six flags does go defunct, RMC will probably suffer a lot because most of their profit comes from adding hybrids to six flags parks. Of course, they have recently started working with other amusement parks such as cedar fair, so maybe I’m wrong.
Rmc is a big company doing things right they r good
You have just made me want six flags to go out of buisness
YeetMelon why?
3:19 My names for the parks you say Sea World acquires:
Six Flags Magic Mountain -> Fiesta Valley Los Angeles
Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Valley San Antonio

Six Flags Over Texas: -> State Fair of Texas
Six Flags St. Louis: -> Either EPR Properties or Cedar Fair

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> Either Palace Entertainment, EPR Properties, Herschend Family Entertainment, or Cedar Fair
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Either Palace Entertainment or EPR Properties
Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park -> Whoever buys The Great Escape
Who I think the Six Flags name will go to: State Fair of Texas
Who I think the Looney Tunes and DC licensing will go to: I think Warner Bros will start building their own theme parks in the USA if Six Flags goes under, Warner Bros already operates park in Australia, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.
4:59 My names for the rest of the Six Flags parks with "Six Flags" in their current name:
Six Flags America -> American Adventure
Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake
Six Flags Great America -> Chicago's Great America
Six Flags Mexico -> Fiesta Valley Mexico City
Six Flags New England -> New England Riverside
Six Flags Over Georgia -> Depends on who buys this property
Six Flags Over Texas: -> Six Flags Over Texas (since a businessman from Dallas running the park would buy the rights to the "Six Flags" name)
Six Flags St. Louis -> Mid-American Adventure
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> Aquatica Los Angeles
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington -> Depends on who buys this property
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> Aquatica Jackson
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> Aquatica Oaxtepec

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Depends on who buys this property
Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park -> The Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park
Keep Magic Mountain as Magic Mountain
Finally a video on this!! I love you channel soo much and your videos are literally gold!! You deserve more hype!!!
Six Flags is making the fastest recovery stock wise out of every company. I don’t think they are going to be in any sort of trouble anytime soon.
My new version of my take on where the parks, the Six Flags name, and the DC and Looney Tunes licensing will go if Six Flags went bankrupt:
Current property -> The Buyer -> Name After Buyout
Frontier City -> EPR Properties -> Frontier City
La Ronde -> Palace Entertainment -> La Ronde
Six Flags America -> EPR Properties -> American Adventure
Six Flags Darien Lake -> EPR Properties -> Darien Lake
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Discovery World
Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens San Antonio
Six Flags Great Adventure -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Busch Gardens New Jersey
Six Flags Great America -> Cedar Fair -> Chicago's Great America
Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark -> Palace Entertainment -> The Great Escape Lodge
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Arlington -> State Fair of Texas -> Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord -> EPR Properties -> Waterworld California
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica Los Angeles
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica New Jersey
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Aquatica Oaxtepec
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> EPR Properties -> White Water Bay
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> EPR Properties -> Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Rockford Park District -> Magic Waters Waterpark
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> EPR Properties -> Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown
Six Flags Magic Mountain -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens Los Angeles
Six Flags Mexico -> SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment -> Fiesta Gardens Mexico City
Six Flags New England -> Cedar Fair -> New England Riverside
Six Flags Over Georgia -> Herschend Family Entertainment -> Southern Empire Theme Park
Six Flags Over Texas -> State Fair of Texas -> Six Flags Over Texas
Six Flags St. Louis -> EPR Properties -> Mid-American Adventure
Six Flags White Water -> Herschend Family Entertainment -> White Water Georgia
The Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor -> Palace Entertainment -> The Great Escape
The Six Flags Over Texas land would be bought by the State Fair of Texas with the park being managed by a DFW-area businessman that would also get the rights to the "Six Flags" and "Hurricane Harbor" names. Warner Bros would also start building their own theme parks in the USA, Warner Bros already has theme parks in Germany, United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
My final version of my take on where the parks, the Six Flags name, and the DC and Looney Tunes licensing will go if Six Flags went bankrupt:
BUYER
Current Property -> Name After Buyout (Alternative Name After Buyout)
CEDAR FAIR
Six Flags Great America -> Chicago's Great America
Six Flags New England -> Riverside (Riverside Park)
HERSCHEND FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT
Six Flags Over Georgia -> Southern Empire Theme Park (Southern Empire City)
Six Flags White Water -> White Water Georgia (Peach Beach)
PALACE ENTERTAINMENT
La Ronde -> La Ronde
Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark -> The Great Escape Lodge
The Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor -> The Great Escape
PREMIER PARKS, LLC
Frontier City -> Frontier City
Six Flags America -> American Adventure (Adventure World)
Six Flags Darien Lake -> Darien Lake

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord -> Waterworld California (Wet ‘n’ Wild Concord)
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City -> White Water Bay (Wet ‘n’ Wild Oklahoma City)
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix -> Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford -> Magic Waters Waterpark (Wet ‘n’ Wild Rockford)
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor SplashTown -> Wet ‘n’ Wild SplashTown
Six Flags St. Louis -> Mid-American Adventure
SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom -> Discovery World (SeaWorld San Fransisco)
Six Flags Fiesta Texas -> Fiesta Gardens San Antonio (Fiesta Valley San Antonio)
Six Flags Great Adventure -> Busch Gardens New Jersey
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles -> Aquatica Los Angeles (Fiesta Costa Los Angeles)
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey -> Aquatica New Jersey (Garden Shores)
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec -> Aquatica Oaxtepec (Fiesta Costa Oaxtepec)
Six Flags Magic Mountain -> Fiesta Gardens Los Angeles (Fiesta Valley Los Angeles)
Six Flags Mexico -> Fiesta Gardens Mexico City (Fiesta Valley Mexico City)
The Six Flags Over Texas land would be bought by the State Fair of Texas with the park being managed by a DFW-area businessman that would also buy the rights to the "Six Flags" name.
No way Cedar Fair lets SeaWorld get Great Adventure and Magic Mountain. Those are by far their two most profitable parks!
If they go out of business I would die
Seaworld can use the busch name for new parks
1. There WAS many years ago a Busch gardens in SoCal, so getting back in the market would be an opportunity.
2. Buying magic mountain is probably a high eight low nine digit transaction.
Love the channel
Thanks for keeping going through this tough time always lightens up my days
5 Words
Underrated channel, not Enough SUBS!!
I disagree with this theory entirely, but good editing though!
Brandon Winchester same
Little off topic, but what did you think about the safety guidelines that six flags released earlier today?
Patrick Cadiz amusement insiders did a repost of their opening guidelines early today
I wish Cedar Fair buys SFOT(my home park). So they can put a record-breaking coaster from B&M or RMC raptor.
If six flags went out of business, this would be my story:
Disney-Six Flags America (Disneyland Baltimore), Darien Lake (Disneyland Buffalo)
Universal-New England (Universal Studios New England), St. Louis (Universal Studios St. Louis), La Ronde (Universal Studios Canada)
Cedar Fair-Over Texas (Valley Point), Six Flags Mexico (Reino Aventura), Great America (Illinois' Great America)
SeaWorld-Agreed with everything (SFMM, SFGAD, SFDK, SFFT)
Palace Entertainment-Great Escape, Frontier City (I really don't expect the name of these parks to change)
Herscend- Six Flags Over Georgia [Mirror Mountain(I actually had to use a park name generator for this one)]
Notification squad. Also I do see them going out of business in the future, they are too reckless with their money
Ben Lauder explain
No company is perfect but we need six flags to say in business
So Frontier City could be an Cedar Fair park...
Six Flags only manages Frontier City and Darien Lake. They don't physically own the property.
When one of your videos comes out it makes my day 10x better.
I think great adventure would be themed to north and south america
They have a frontier area (that's pretty good for six flags)
They have the golden kingdom (rethemed to a south american jungle)
They have the mexican area
And they could theme the boardwalk to the tropics and the lakefrot area to forests and the nitro area to the arctic
This channel is incredible. It is high quality! Love it.
How do you only have 5.8k followers. Your Channel is great!!
August 2022 this looks more and more likely everyday
Wow - your videos keep getting even better!
Pros: goodbye and good riddance to SF!
Cons: RIP my home park
My home Six Flags park is Six Flags Great Adventure and I think the day of and day after the final operating day would be like a funeral for me
Guys, the parks wouldn't actually close for good, they would be sold off to other chains.
@@chiefbeef6251 it wouldn't be the same though. Yeah maybe some could use some TLC, but for Great Adventure in my eyes is what I grew up with.
I dont think it would happen but this would be the best end for Six Flags🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
You should make a "What parks should Sea World buy?" video. I think that SFGAdv and SFDK would fit well and maybe even MarineLand.
What a great prediction video! I would definitely see this happening if Six Flags decides to go out of Business.
GREAT ADVENTURE is one of the best park with the best roller coasters..hope six flags great adventure still stay with us
Dang, don’t get me depressed
If cedar fair got six flag parks I would no longer be able to go. I've been taking kids to six flags since they started. Went to Disneyland the day they opened.
Just found this channel and can’t stop watching. Keep up the good work
This channel is sooo underrated! You deserve more credit as ur vids are at awesome quality always!!!!!
My Bar Mitzvah is soon and instead of a party I am going to busch Gardens Tampa, Seaworld Orlando, Universal/Islands of Adventure, and all 4 Disney World Parks
Well I was thinking of them Selling some of their Parks to Palace Entertainment, Cedar Fair, Herschend Family Entertainment, and Warner Bros.
Hold up
Why did u say the theming is on the bottom right when you put superman, which is a pretty themed ride
Keep the quarantine content coming! Need my coaster fix
What if instead of Seaworld San Antonio Resort it is called Busch Gardens San Antonio because it already has a Busch Gardens feel
To be fair, I dont think they would sell Magic Mountain. But here is a theory, they know people like great adventure, so even though its an elite park, they might sell that over something like America that nobody would buy
So if cedar fair purchased over Georgia and over Texas. Would the names still be the same
I would hope so
Depends if they also purchase the intellectual property
Your theories are crazy, and that is what makes this videos perfect
Frontier City might be an option for Herschend. It would fit their themes for Dollywood and Silver Dollar City.
This is literally the best coaster channel ever
I love your videos like these. I love watching these and your theories are amazing
You make the best videos!😃
Does TPR allow you to use its images and povs if you give it credit or do you have to ask permission?
I would give anything to have my home parks (Great Adventure and New England) run by sea world or cedar fair. Both parks are honestly great places but god damn... they could be so much better
And they will. I bet they buy out cedar fair
@@dominofive5075 Six Flags literally just tried to buy Cedar Fair a few months ago, and Cedar Fair told them to kick rocks lol. It's not ever happening.
They may be cheap but amusement parks gotta realize not everyone shits gold to afford to go to the more expensive places
I agree. Even though six flags, isn't cedar fair they are great for what we pay. Not everyone can afford to go Disney and cedar fair.
magic mountain will never be renamed
Nope, not ever
my home park is Six flags great adventure 😭 it would HURT to see it go, so many memories but question IF this was to happen why couldn’t Disney expand but maybe not as a Disney park but use what they’ve gotten from the Fox purchase to make a park separate and use IP’s from the Fox name?? is that a possibility??
Honestly, I really wouldn’t care that much, my nearest park is SFA, btw I really like your vids, they’re so addicting
Yes. I need of this channel! This is a hidden gem in UA-cam
Very solid content. Nice way to look back, from ahead. Very different but, interesting way to look at how things might/could be.
