Omar, bro I absolutely love the way you shared your video many people talk about SENSELESS details I’m always like get to it already!!!! but not you , you dove right in and helped us all out much respect to you for taking the time to share your video a million thanks! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can't wait for the sun to rise so I can see if my purge valve is located there too! I have a 2002 accord V6, same 1457 code. I bought the charcoal canister yesterday, but this seems much easier to try to fix first. My Meineke guys want $750 and my smoke test showed no leaks. The cops got me yesterday for expired registration so I have 10 days to fix. Thank you for your video, I'm just a mom, but think I can do this!
This was actually very helpful, thank you!!! My mechanic was telling me I had to change out the whole cannister without troubleshooting the problem. You da man dude 👍
Had my 97 accord diagnosed at the dealership, said it needs this new solenoid. They wanna run me like $300 to replace it. Thanks for this video. Very helpful
Thanks Omar! I found several videos that talked about the vent solenoid valve location and testing, but I wasn't able to find one about the purge solenoid valve, until now. :-)
Thanks for posting this Omar - really helps. I just started getting 1457 on my 02 Accord ULEV. 200K miles. I just had to change my temp sensor and maybe knocked a EVAP hose loose inadvertently (I am hoping). The purge valve hoses is kinda in the same area I was working. I will check and will comment if anything to contribute.
Just replaced the charcoal canister and valve and it went away then it came back the next day with p1457 code, just bought this in hoping this is the problem lol
hi bro i have same code for 2003 honda civic. Changed the carcoal canister three times, vent valve, gas gap and thinking to change the purge valve since check engine light is still their. Do you have any other recommendations?
What's the name of the shut off valve on the tank? Every time I get a tank of gas my car acts like it almost dies a couple times going down the road after I leave the gas station and a couple of times my car actually died after leaving the gas station and wouldn't start for several minutes. Which shut off valve do you think is bad or could it be my vapor canister? No check engine light and car never has any problems until I get a tank of gas. 2002 2.3 liter 125k miles
That doesn't sound like this would be related to the issue you are having. Also, you would normally see a check engine light for these EVAP issues. I would show the car to a trusted mechanic and explain the issue you are having. To me, it sounds like you are having some sort of fuel delivery issue. Possibly a fuel pump that's nearing death or a clogged fuel filter or bad injectors. Best to show it to someone.
Korey Mayo hey man I don't know if you already fixed it but your issue is with the vent valve that is on the canister next to the gas tank on the right. It's stuck in the closed position and it does that. Gotta replace it and voila...
Korey Mayo EVAP vent valve solenoid. It's on the canister by the gas tank and has an electrical connection. There are videos on it. Check'em out... Good luck man!
Unhook the battery connectors from the terminals, clamp the neg and pos cable connectors together with vice grips. After about 15 minutes the lights will be reset. Only do this if you have the code to reset your radio. If not visit your local Honda dealer parts department or check online for radio reset codes.
There is a solenoid by the charcoal canister as well I make mention of it in the video. If you can afford to, it's good to change both of these out in conjunction on an old car like this
Your video was on point. No dancing around. Straight to the part. Mine is a 1999 accord, but it was in the same exact place. Much thanks.
Thank you

Thank you....you was on it!! Your engine looks exactly like mine. And me being a female..I switched it out myself.

did it work for you?
You're the man. Almost ripped of my evap canister thought this was on the side of it with the vent solenoid. Saved me a lot of time thanks!

Glad I could help. Thanks for watching

You are THE MAN!!! Thanks for the trouble you went thru to share this.

Looks all the hoses are tight. So here we go changing parts...
Thanks very helpful and fast with out so much talk and self advertising like others
Thank you so much for this! I just replaced the solenoid...hope it fixes the issue.
Thanks for the info not long and drawn out, great video.
For real people try to use waaaaay too much details that are 100 percent unnecessary
Thank you Omar very helpful.
Thank you
extremely helpful
Thank you very helpful brother💯💯
Thank you very much
I took off the plug and put 12 volts to it. It still actuated. I might run to the junkyard and grab one anyway.
Just replaced the charcoal canister and valve and it went away then it came back the next day with p1457 code, just bought this in hoping this is the problem lol
Thanks. I’m on it.

Question: Should the pct valve have a snug fit into the valve cover? The one on my car can be wiggled around. Thanks
Kickass video, 7 thumbs up
Thank you
Would this cause my pcv valve to keep.going out? I have replaced twice within 5 days
In your case you might not have just a valve issue but issues with the other items mentioned
I’m gonna save this video be my lx is having this problem

@@omarsiddiqi thanks but fuel pump and injectors were replaced a few years ago. The thing that gets me is only having a problem on a full tank of gas.

@@shamanbaray6327 thanks! And no I haven't fixed it yet. Do you know the part name of that vent valve?

what part number is this?
What you mean resetting the light?
Using an OBDII scanner to remove the check engine light (to see if it returns after driving)
Unhook the battery connectors from the terminals, clamp the neg and pos cable connectors together with vice grips. After about 15 minutes the lights will be reset. Only do this if you have the code to reset your radio. If not visit your local Honda dealer parts department or check online for radio reset codes.
I changed both of these and it’s still has a check engine light smh
Your video is not loading idk why
Just tested it out and it's working fine on my end. Give it a shot in a different browser or try again a bit later could be a glitch by chance
I was confused alot of the time since some showed it on the canister itself im just so confused with that lol

@@omarsiddiqi ah, that might explain why I have 2 p1457 codes at the same time on my 02 accord right now
