Some series age like a fine wine. Some series age like milk. Most have stayed around the same. Thanks to your recommendation, I started The Black Company books a year and a half ago. I am now finally on Soldiers Live. It's a bittersweet feeling to reach the end of the journey with Croaker and the gang. Definitely one of my favorite series.

My only experience with Ready Player One was reading the MC babble on and on about Star Trek (read like Cline wrote the wiki synopsis in his own words) and i read some Cline's poetry and it was a war crime against the art form.

Such a fun video concept!! I think a lot of series would tank real hard for me though, I am always on such an emotional high after finishing series and then I slowly sour over time lol. Except for RotE, I have only come to love that more and the urge to reread is trying to break me every single day hahaha.

I actually ended doing a combo reread/finish of Lorien Legacies early this year after catching up with Dresden and The Cosmere late last year. Lorien ended up being an unintentional DNF in that I was caught up with the Series at the release of the 4th book of 7 titled The Fall of Five but I lost track of the Series for a good number of years. Early this year I noticed that not only had Legacies finished but that 3 books into a Sequel Series had released so I was pretty excited. I ended up DNF’ing the Sequel Series during book 1 because none of the characters even came close to the characters from the Original Series but I did finish the Original Series and let me tell you I loved it even more than when I was reading them in publication. Great premise, flawed and fleshed out characters, cool Magic System, great Ending I loved everything about it.

In fairness I still consider them clearly better than Divergent, The 5th Wave, and The Darkest Minds, but also I liked them more originally, and think Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games held up quite a bit better.
The premise was awesome though
