Thanks for this Jake and everyone. I really enjoyed Under Heaven, another excellent GGK book.
I just checked and it's already been 13 years since I read it, so it was nice to have this discussion as a refresher.
I'll be interested to see what everyone thinks of River Of Stars as it is my least favourite book to the degree that it put me off reading GGK until your enthusiasm for him made me pick up his books again, under heaven
