dude.. where is your A song of ice and fire love ??? You have so many characters to love there, a rich world and a sea of upgrades straight from Dune , Lord of the Rings to Lovecraft and much more
Been wanting to check some of these series out for awhile, just starting to reread His Dark Materials at the minute though. Highly recommend the books for anyone who hasn’t read them.
It was nice to find someone that I share similar tastes with, yet has read and suggested things I hadn't stumbled upon yet. +1 for the Great Algorithm. Lucky me, someone gifted me that Abercrombie series last christmas, and I've yet to crack it open. Seeing it as your resounding #1 means I should probably take it out of the wrapper this weekend.
I was surprised to not see A Song of Ice and Fire on your list but maybe you haven't read the series yet ? If you like a long series , very character focused then The Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb might be something for you.
I've read at least one book of everything you have here except for Bloodsworn and Red Rising; those two are on my TBR though. 3 of yours are in my own top 10 and everything else would be in my top 25. My top 10 is: 1. Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson (been my #1 since 1997 and I doubt it will ever lose the top spot) 2. Stormlight Archive 3. First Law universe (I group all 9 books plus the short stories together) 4. Drenai Saga by David Gemmell (also one of my top series since the 90's) 5. Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson 6. Mistborn Era 2 (I don't combine Era 1 & Era 2 since they are so different in tone and not many of the same characters; I liked Era 1 as well but not anywhere near as much as Era 2) 7. The Band by Nicolaus Eames 8. Kingkiller Chronicles (this one is on it's way down unfortunately; it was my #5 a couple years ago; but if it isn't ever finished it may end up dropping out of my top 10 completely) 9. The Belgariad/Malloreon by David Eddings (another one that has been in my top 10 since the 90's) 10. Broken Empire/Red Queen's War by Mark Lawrence (I group these two together as well since basically they tell one story in two parts in my opinion)
10. Empire of the vampire (10 because it's unfinished) 9. Kingkiller chronicles (unfinished) 8. Red rising 7. Six of crows 6. First law era 2 5 the arc of scythe 4. Stormlight Archive ( a bit overrated) 3.. First law era 1 2. mistborn era 1 1. the raven cycle. (mostly nostalgia but it's a great book with amazing writing)
@@GuyReads definitely recommend, especially the Ender's Shadow series. The Ender series and the Ender's Shadow series are fundamentally very different.
If you are having a mixed list. The books need to be legendary. LOTR is too low. Foundation and Narnia are missing. Malazan is better than Stomlight, 😝, the teens are going to hate that!
He did it, he named 10 books!
I was half way through writing a response, but your name says it all. Great input sir...
So much overlap with me, great list!
Thank you!!

I know I need to do a reread soon

Thanks for the recommendation. I haven't read His Dark Materials but definitely want to soon!

Thank you for watching! Haha I personally love that series

I am planning on doing a reread soon!
Nice list! Can’t wait to see where Dungeon Crawler Carl places when you catch up 😉 haha
Thanks for recommendation!

Love the video man, would love to talk to you about books some time!! Also, Mistborn and The Lies of Locke Lamora are two of my favorite books!!
Thank you for watching! And absolutely, I can never get enough of book talk haha!
@@GuyReads what is the best way to chat with you about books?
Great video!🙂
Thanks! 😊
I was totally looking for more fantasy and sci fi books after lotr, starship troopers, dune, and a canticle for leibowitz!
I want to check out A Canticle for Leibowitz!
Yo, like the vibes.
The Vorkosigan series by Lois McMaster Bujold
Thank you! I added this one to my TBR!!

Love it! I have added some of those to my TBR now! Thank you for sharing
Wouldn’t really say Dune is a space opera!
10. Empire of the vampire (10 because it's unfinished)
9. Kingkiller chronicles (unfinished)
8. Red rising
7. Six of crows
6. First law era 2
5 the arc of scythe
4. Stormlight Archive ( a bit overrated)
3.. First law era 1
2. mistborn era 1
1. the raven cycle. (mostly nostalgia but it's a great book with amazing writing)
starting stormlight archive... it's very tough to get into it.. it is so slow and feels so boring.
Now read Malazan and add it to the list.
Just finished Gardens of the Moon! Review video is up on my channel :)
You gotta read the Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio. Sci-fi at its best!
Love the excitment
Read all but dune but I’m starting it soon!
I loved Dune but it definitely has a different, older writing style :)
Music way too loud
Three body problem trilogy is in my top 3.
I have been wanting to read that one!
bloodsworn saga gang rise up!!!!!!!!!!
Hoorah!!!
read Malazan bro
Just finished Gardens of the Moon! Review will be up soon
I suspect you have never read the Enderverse or it would be on here 😊
I read Ender's Game a long time ago but will have to do a re read. I haven't ever read the other books in the series though

It’s his list.
Is Harry Potter not considered fantasy?
It is definitely fantasy, and it was hard to decide this list. Harry Potter would probably be my number 11.
@@GuyReads I'm guessing you've never read Harry potter
@@bryang4194 We could read it together...? 👉👈
Jesus, all lists like that have the same 10 books. Its like they are made by bots.
I have passed multiple recaptcha bot tests, so I can confirm that I am indeed not a robot
Have you read any of the books?
