- This is the Sony Xperia 1 VI and it’s an amazing phone. It’s probably my favorite phone of 2024 so far! It’s a shame it’s not available in the USA.

I still have the Sony Xperia 1 iv 5G purple, extremely happy with it, best phone I ever had and I had many, from iPhones to Samsungs, even Blackberry. My next phone will definitely by Sony Xperia 1 again, probably vii or viii.
I currently have the Xperia 1 V so I'll be off the market for a couple of years. It's a banger phone. An emulation beast with a 400gb sd card. I hope Sony keep selling it in the USA market.
Hows your battery life? I'm still getting 1.5 days per charge. I know the 1-6 has improved battery life but my 1-5 is still great.
@@iLLSinceProductions battery still great. I charge it before going to bed only everyday and still has 30% plus with regular use.
When emulating games by the end of the day it probably has 20% but that's because I use the phone at max brightness and some games can be demanding on the phone.
Hey if this thing doesn’t work well on us networks you should say so now.
@@atlgator1928 I have AT&T and my Xperia 1v so far has worked no issues at all. The previous models were not fully compatible with the US cell tower bands. That's gone on the 1v. Where ever my wife's iPhone 15 Pro Max works so does my Xperia 1v. Cannot complain at all.
@@JDM417 the 1V is last year's phone, which is available in the US. I had it for a minute and thought it did a lot of things worse than other phones so I returned it.
I love Sony devices. Have the 1 v right now and it’s amazing.
People complain about display downgrading, well I used 1 VI three weeks ago every time I use back my 1 V feels old, lack of contrast, everything too small and even little blurry, I bet no one company can turn their phone into FHD+ as did well as Sony, 1 VI literally a upgraded display.
Have saved phone also love it. Switch to Sony from Samsung galaxy S23 ultra and don't reagreat it.

Today I gave my Xperia 1 V to the warranty service. I've been experiencing issues like signal dropouts and MAINLY heavy overheating. I literally measured 44.2 celsius while doing some Instagram. I'm not a game but if I installed Genshin or similar, it would genuinely set itself on fire

Do it work on Verizon?
Without a US release of this phone, it will not work with Verizon. Phone comes with a GSM antenna for global markets (AT&T & T-Mobile service, if supported), but no CDMA antenna (Verizon service).

I came from a 1 II and can't say the display disappointed me. It's really smooth and super bright outdoors. The lower res and variable refresh is the main reason the battery lasts 2 days, so it's a good trade-off, imo.
It's not available in the US is it? Or if avail. can't use it if you're on Verizon correct?
I live in Oregon and I this Global Sony Xperia 1 VI is arriving from Amazon on Friday, July 5th. Reviews say it will not work on Verizon or AT&T, but does have one 5g band (and a number of 4g) that will work on T-Mobile & Google Fi. My Fi sim card arrived today, so this weekend will be a real test for this phone.
The beauty is that this global phone will work great internationally - but what about home?
I bought the global version from Amazon and I have two SIM cards my personal is T-Mobile and my work one provided is by Verizon both are working without issue however I should advise that there are two models of the global unlocked version which I was unaware of and the one I purchased did not support esim

I am completely in the dark about e-sims.
Do I really want one? If it uses a esim, can I also choose to use a regular one? What Global Model can use one? I thought that Sony didn’t include this option. I guess I will find out soon/Friday when I receive it.😮
@@drmoynihan supposedly the model ending in 54 can use esim and the one ending in 72 can't. I wanted esim so I could move my personal T-Mobile over to esim and the my work provided Verizon physical sim into sim slot 1 which would then free up the microsd card slot and increase my storage capacity

We can’t keep on with this “afraid it will drain the battery “ excuse .. it’s time phones had bigger batteries or go back to being able to hot swap batteries.

Sorry but I have to add a sour note … I have used the Sony 1 vi for the last week and find the whole form factor very disappointing… also the camera app is a mess imo … plus they did away with the haptics that were used to give depth to the sound when watching content .. a real shame … I will go back to the 1v .
They got rid of the haptics? Wtf! Why has no one said anything about that
@@bbilman056 I think, he meant the dynamic vibration system, which is a different set of haptics. It just works on audios and videos.

@@bbilman056 Maybe, the phone just wants to be mainstream, removing a lot of xperia uniqueness. Besides, dynamic vibration was not talked about a lot by reviewers, so why talk about it now that it is gone?
@@josephaquino3095 every review I ever saw talked about it and loved it. I really liked it. Either way, why remove it? It adds 0 desire ability to remove a feature like that, especially since it's mostly a software feature. Unless it required a certain haptic engine. But I heard the haptics in general were amazing, so hopefully those aren't toned down.

6.5 is a bit small screen in 2024, and that top and below bezel is horrendous, Sony is thinking it's still 2010😅😂
I had an old Sony Xperia years ago. Sony stuff seems overpriced for what you get. I would be surprised if this was under $1,500 USD.
