    Very good advise for maximizing your profit. An extra ten dollars for 20 minutes of light disassembly work is not bad, and usually better than what you'd make in the same time cruising the curbs for more scrap.

    I use to get a lot of grills when i had the scrap contract at the campgrounds. i would save my grill tubs instead of taking them in right away. i would fill them up with my other cast aluminum and when full or when they got to almost to heavy they went in then that way. it was an easy to carry throw away bucket that they didn't minus me for. throw it on the scale and right into the bin without having to dump a bucket and get minus 3 pounds per bucket even if your bucket weighed less than that. kept the yard more honest.

    At the 14 minute mile marker When you pull that little Cone shaped brass piece out of that Aluminum housing You have to be careful because there's a pin. It's something like a washer that can be steel. Also on that aluminum housing, there's a quarter inch, both with the hole in it. Normally, they're brass. Also on the front of the grill on the lid, most of the time that labeled is aluminum. I always check that because sometimes the lids are steal
    On a side, though, I'm not sure if my vision is going but are those side cutters curved?
    Also, what are the brands? And how much does it cost for the 2 scales that you use?
    If my math is correct at $15 to grill for a 1/2 hour's worth of work is $30 an hour. Just imagine doing 10 of them in a day. The most I ever did was five🤠

    • @scrapitall200
      @scrapitall200  5 місяців тому

      Yeah I got it all clean, thabks.
      Yeah the tags were cast aluminum as well, unfortunately sometimes things get edited out because I messed up recording or something.
      I don’t remember how much the scale cost. It’s been a few years now. I got it off Amazon though. The other small scale was given to me.
      I’ll have to check on the needles cutters I got given. The regular pair is Doyle brand then I have my Knipex as well that were a gift.
      I think the Doyle’s are slightly curved.

      @@Sarah-td5uh because the magnet didn’t stick to it. It wouldn’t be aluminum because it needs to be stronger. Plus the weight of it is another marker.
      I’m not sure what your level of experience is, so please forgive me if you already know. Stainless is non magnetic and if you are unsure if it’s stainless, take a grinder to it, if it produces a few sparks, it’s stainless, if it sparks a lot that’s regular steel. If it doesn’t spark at all and is not magnetic, it’s either, aluminum, zinc, copper or brass (the other non magnetic metals)

      @@scrapitall200 yeah, they used to all be cast but I think the cheap ones are all magnetic, nowadays. Probably why I see so many. They only last a few years.

      @@scrapitall200 Non-sweating hands is a near biological impossibility. If you are diagnosed with Anhidrosis, I will need to see your certificate from the International Hyperhidrosis Society. We actually have an authority that supervises our sweating and helps people learn how to sweat properly.
