Interviewing with Lionsgate Studios tomorrow for an upper level position. This was an amazing and comprehensive history that was so precise and condensed. Thank you!!!
I remember when I used to rent a movie from my local video store and when it said Lionsgate films I knew it was going to be a "B" movie. 🤣 So glad you made this because I have literally watched the rise of Lionsgate films.
Disney technically didn't outright force the Weinsteins into selling Dogma, they did that on their own (though Disney was of course happy to distance themselves from that controversy).
Sadly, Ealy Man was released the same weekend as Marvel's Black Panther, hence the low box office. No disrespect to Black Panther (especially after the passing of Chadwick Boseman), but that was a completely one sided box office battle.
Lionsgate has released a lot of movies, so I did have to pick and choose which ones to mention, while still making the segues flow. It's difficult to mention everything when doing these studio histories.

You forgot to mention their acquisition of Starz.
They already did back in 2016.
you should do one about the History of New Line Cinema and Polygram Filmed Entertainment someday!

You didn't mention Lionsgate buying Trimark (makers of the Leprechaun films among other works)
That company was acquired back in 2000.

Despite being a critical and commercial failure, Is America Ultra even THAT popular w/ viewers. I wonder if it's cult following will give it a sequel?
any reason you didnt mention the 2017 power rangers movie

You forgot to mention that Hasbro tried to buy Lionsgate in 2017 but fell through.
Ironic considering eOne (a Hasbro company for a period of time) is now under Lionsgate.
Also There's the 2017 My Little Pony movie in the animation side. Which was a box office hit thanks to the low $6.5 million budget
