I listened to this album when I was out working in the garage with my dad and he never told me to "Turn that screaming shit off" so I'm calling this a win. Sleep Token transcends barriers.
I cannot wait to blow my parents mind with this band when i go visit this summer, its gonna be a treat.
Yeah, same with listening this in the car with my mom. Normally she tells me to turn it down cuz it's a bit too much for her, but with sleep token she literally called it beautiful. And my grandma cried when I showed her "Are you really okay?". This music is great, even for non metalheads.
@@dwkluka511 my parents are big into the usuals classic rock and I’ve been a metal head most of my life. I know for a fact they are gonna love this band and I’m so happy that they have bridged the gap. There is something for everyone with this band.

The lyricism in these songs is incredible too. "No amount of self sought fury will bring back the glory of innocence" is such a beautiful line. These guys are playing on a different level than everyone else.
My personal favorite is “I will travel far beyond the path of reason.” The amount of desperation in that line is juicy.

Absolutely. The lyrics are poetry thats what initially hooked me. I saw a tik tok with "My my your eyes like fire. I'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre" and my lit degree ass went HGHWAAAAAAT?!
Real talk, this is not a single bad song on this album, it’s absolutely incredible, no negative thing to say about it. The only thing that I can possibly think of is, I’ve listened to it 5 times and I wish I could listen to it again with brand new ears. Album of the decade for me

And even better, near the end of the song, you can hear "The night belongs to YOU", paralleling the same song and completing the album trilogy. This band is so good
I truly feel like Euclid could be the perfect song. There isn't a single wasted note, lyric, riff, etc. Every single piece has to be there or the entire song falls apart. And the story it tells is both beautiful and gut-wrenching. And the way it reconnects with TNDNBTG is brilliant. 🙌

Released six singles, and saved the best ones for the album release in my opinion.
People were like „it can’t get any better, crazier or heavier“ but it did.
Yeah, I'd say that Are You Really Okay? is possibly the weakest song on the record but still a good song, but the others were pure fire.

Is nobody going to mention that the first line of Chokehold is the refrain at the end of this track? Excellent callbacks on this album. The last track on this album (Euclid) is a callback to the first song on their first album (The Night Does Not Belong to God). Incredible writing! Worship 🙌

Another callback to chokehold (or maybe call forward in chokehold?) Is that at the instrumental opening of chokehold you can also hear birds like you can in this song. Very faint but I'm not the only one to notice this

In my honest opinion, this might be one of the greatest albums I have ever heard. There are few albums that have touched my soul and this one has resonated with me on a spiritual level. It has transcended genres and broken barriers. They are barrier breakers.
Great reaction Nik. Sleep Token's music is special and therapeutic for alot of people, Vessel's voice is unreal and his songwriting is poetic. My album of the year. Worship.

I've recently discovered this band, and I'm just in love. So many amazing songs, and thwy absolutely make yiu feel some type of way. Matter of fact, they change shit up so often, one song takes you through a roller coaster of emotions, but it's SUCH a great ride.

The album is even better than I expected. I've loved all the singles they put out, except one. I was expecting when the rest of the album dropped that we had already heard the best stuff. But the rest are all bangers. Ascensionism and Take Me Back to Eden are insanely good.
