I don’t think metal has ever been serious honestly. The party lifestyle, the fashion, the presentation, it’s always been an opulent theatrical performance seems like.

Almost 41 years old. This may be my favorite band of all time. I’ve never felt so consumed by a bands music in my life. It’s as if I was given an epiphany on life. Their music has, literally, changed how I feel overall. It’s amazing. Oh, and they don’t have one single song I dislike. I listen to their albums from front to back when I listen to them.

Sleep Token have a way of making a 5 minute song feel short. It’s insane!

I remember the times where "Gods" used to be their heaviest song.. well not anymore! Those screams are something else, so powerful, emotional and unique, Vessel's vocal talent is out of this world

@@BasedHyperborean it’s definitely Vessel. If you pay attention to the annunciation and little emotional flourishes it’s very much in line with his usual delivery. The man just learned proper harsh vocals it seems. Not to mention, IV’s screams are deeper and more chesty

I know IV does some of the screaming when they play The Summoning live. I can't wait to see how much he does with Vore live.

The production value on this album fits the band and their style so well. It's amazing how a production team that understands the creative direction of the band and enables them to be at their absolute BEST can make such a world of difference!

Sleep are the only band I can see a new song come out and it be completely different from everything in their repertoire and not feel out of place or like a downgrade in quality. They’ve made a career of doing the weirdest shit at the highest level and I am always here for it. May Sleep Token take over every music scene and every genre. Worship.
I've learned to expect the unexpected from Sleep Token, but them dropping a song about getting vored by an anthro mantis caught me off guard
I feel like Sleep Token has taken notes from Loathe and Zeal & Ardor, and I'm all in for it!

Glad someone else hears Loathe in this album! Once we got that collab/remix of the Loathe song awhile back, I've been loving hearing the traces of it in ST's new stuff

I was also hearing a lot of Zeal & Ardor! Especially with how Vessels screams were treated and placed into the song.

The Summoning is GOD TIER........but VORE is my fav track
Complete structural Masterpiece. Its pieced together so perfectly......the bridges/interludes flow seamlessly into each heavy section.....always building + creating tension
"I don't know were we're going" Should be the tagline for Sleep Token in general

Heavy parts are Hexagram-era Deftones if Abe got double kicks and it’s sick tbh

This album is gonna be their best work yet! I’ve been listening to Sleep Token since 2018 and all the songs so far from the new album have blown me away. This is going to be AOTY for me without a doubt
Vore means "a rare sexual fetish where someone experiences sexual arousal from imagining swallowing or devouring someone whole or from being swallowed or devoured whole." The lyrcis are pretty dope...
Sleep Token really reminds me of a band called Fightstar. So much of this new material gives me the vibes of their last album "Behind the Devils Back", and I love it so much.

I first heard about Sleep Token when Will Ramos sang it, I feel ashamed that I never heard of them before, such a great band and vocalist.
That was my first intoduction, I was getting into Lorna shore and I saw that cover of hypnosis, but silly me didn’t look into the band until I heard the ending of the summoning on TikTok LOL! I recognized the band name and was VERY intrigued at that point lol

The clean voice and heavy riffs harmony reminded me a lot of the ones between Courtney and Mike of Spiritbox in the Eternal Blue album. Banger btw

I haven’t had a song make me so emotional in my life. I’ve listened to metal since I was about 15 and I’m 29 now. I downloaded this album from a friends suggestion and it popped on when I was working out. I literally had to stop lifting and luckily I was in my house because after the 5th listen in a row I started crying like a baby. Seriously ethereal experience
It took me a few times on repeat to really get into this song, but now I just love it! Honestly, I don't like the fadeout, but okay, the harmonies are sooooo beautiful! Worship
I think Vessel's screams could definitely be better, but other than that the song is phenomenal.

@@mrbow50001 Yep it's definitely a different sound of screamed vocals with heavy instrumentals! Hard to get into at first but I'm glad they've made a song like this and that he doesn't sound like every run of the mill metalcore screamer

Vore is my favorite song!!!! I'm super proud of these guys! To see how far they have come and that they are getting the recognition they deserve!
I’m not usually a fan of tons of screaming vocals, but I always love this song and how ‘chilled’ it feels. Probably bc the screams are less of a roar and more hissing, it just sounds more pleasing to my ears.
I hope the album is long as hell. Every song has been so incredibly gripping and I’ve never felt like this about a band before.
I went insane for this song as soon as it came out, beforehand some of Sleep Token's "lighter" songs were my favourites. The combo of screaming/more melodic parts hit my brain just right 😩
Some people are saying it's IV doing the screaming and (of course) Vessel doing the clean vocals. Apparently IV has "screamed" at live shows & is more involved in the songs now. Either way this song is incredible! Great breakdown, Nik. Always enjoy your reactions since you're a pro and can explain intricacies in the music.
IV filled in a part of The Summoning live, so Vessel could finish the part it overlapped. He still did some screaming though!

@@coreyw5981Vessel sings everything and plays all the instruments on their albums except for the drums. III & IV only play live. So, it’s definitely Vessel on the album with IV helping out when they play live.

So excited you posted this. The first time I heard this I was like oh shit Nik is gonna lose his mind.
This track reminds me a lot of Rōnin by Ibaraki with Vessels screams being similar to Gerard Ways screams. The contrast in this song between the blackened screams and melodic choruses is pretty prevalent in Rōnin as well, both tracks are crazy.

Really impressed by this band diversity. Never heard of them until The Summoning dropped and I'm now simply stuck here, it's so addictive.
Vessel is easily in contention for one of the best modern metal vocalists easily. its almost like a more refined Chino Moreno sound with that slight seductiveness and just how melodic he is.
Been listening to them since the "Nazareth" Single! The way they evolve and add to their sound is just amaizng. It sounds very very different from early sleeptoken, but at the sime time very familiar. Which is a great thing because the songs get more and more complex (which I love) but always retain the special mood/ambience their music has had so far.
So glad to see them get the recognition they deserve. (plus boosts my self confidence in my own music taste lmao)
The verse after the intro is always such a great transition... someone it never gets old. The whole album is incredible.

Those are definitely Vessel's screams. Man's got a range. But, Sleep Token may not exactly be a metalcore band, but this definitely qualifies as a metalcore song.

This is the only Sleep Token song that I've heard that I enjoy all the way through. Pretty damn good. That part at 2:40ish sounds like a metalcore/post metal band that my ex-manager listens to a lot but I can't remember the name of them.
It reminds me of Vola, could that be them?
