Thank you so much for this workaround. I was getting really stressed out when my new Babyface didn't work properly with OBS on my Mac, when it works so easily in Windows 10 already.
FYI, for anyone having issues with no signal going out into blackhole. You must make sure that "Main" master button is toggled to on for your input channel in Ladiocast.
    Cheers.

This is very interesting. There are a lot of us who use standard DJ software to stream our broadcast to a platform. I use Virtual DJ Pro (VDJ), which plays the music, inputs the mic and sound effects, and has a streaming encoder built-in. It would be nice to see an RME tutorial on doing Livestreams with Virtual DJ, Serato, or other standard DJ software, using regular Windows PC.

YEAH! Got it! Thanks for this Video, it´s easy to follow and just takes a few minutes to fix it. One important advice: Blackhole is not visible after installation, there is no icon and nothing in the "Programmes" folder, but anyway, you can select BlackHole as an Input Option on OBS.

IT's really weird to use that 3rd-party apps while I'm using RME the most powerful interfaces with powerful routing options.
So it's the only way that I can stream with OBS on Mac?

I use OBS to record and this system works great as long as you don't want mic and daw audio being mixed on the same channel. I use JACK to create an additional connection for mic/aux 2 where I route the daw audio and I use the loopback function on my Totalmix to route only the mic

    Heya friends,
I got an idea for next video(s):
nowadays with musicians being essentially locked down with no bigger events on the horizon, I'd say it's great time to make a video of thorough explanation with tips and examples about using TotalMix FX internal DSP processing (EQ, Dyn, FX) for actual "live" use on real instruments - I personally play drums and since I figured out the built-in sound processors are actually usable and can be recorded/streamed (if ticked "Enable EQ+D on Record), which makes RME interfaces usable as sound mixing consoles - I'd really like to some some more in-depth use cases, the included presets are great to start with, but I'd like to see some useful tweaks :)

    • @RMEAudio
      @RMEAudio  4 роки тому +1

Yes, TotalMix can be used as(small) live mixer as well. Besides the presets you can use we can understand you want to improve your sound with EQ and dynamics settings, but that is just basic sound engineering. But we are planning Webinars where you can ask us those topics. Please follow us on facebook for more updates.

I've been struggling to set up a workable screen recording setup when working in FL Studio. I am using QuickTime Player to record my screen, but the issue I am facing is that my microphone input is being double recorded, one directly from the interface and the other from my DAW. I have no clue why this is happening. Would greatly appreciate a video on how to do screen recordings on macOS and how to control the routing of the microphone input.

I have a question, this has had me stumped.
I have a Babyface Pro fs and TotalMix Fx, I use Logic Pro X - I created a mix bus that goes to my stereo out (output 1&2 monitors) On the mix bus I created a send to output 3&4 (my headphones). That track then has Slate VSX on it as an insert. I'm trying to record audio in OBS but the audio picks up whatever my daw out is which is what I'm hearing (VSX Audio).
Is there a way I can send the audio thats going to my main mixbus to OBS and still be able to listen to my 3&4 vsx audio?

minute 0´ 22.- I do not understand why you say that the problem is that OBS only recognizes channels 1 and 2.... Because if this is the case, I could send my Ableton to 1 and 2 of Software playback in Totalmix, and then sent to 1, 2 of Hrawwaare outputs, then apply Loopback to send to 1, 2 for hardware Inputs and the in OBs choose Interface Fireceface and would take 1 and 2 and ALL SOLVED.... But I tried and OBs do not read 1, and 2 as you say.. Could you please explain to me what is really happening here?... COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN ME THIS?.. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU.

That's by far the most intelligent post :-). That's what bothers me too! Since years noone get's fixed an issue, that a $ 9.99 soundcard from rummage table doesn't have. Noone is able or willing (as proven by your post which stays unanswered... "surprisingly") to answer a simple question.
A high-priced soundcard doesn't work with the most common broadcasting software and noone seems to care.
Only some cheap workarounds: Loop here... route to there, loopback to this... Yeahhh great, that's why I bought a high-end soundcard, to rush the signal across several softwares, wonderful idea!!
It keeps me wondering why noone explains in plain english, why RME or OBS or maybe both failed in solving a problem that affects a basic function.
We get answers like "This is a common issue with OBS across all interfaces."
Ohh really?? Well then lets go back to sleep...
      Just my five cents!

    Hi guys,
I'm on Mac Pro 5.1 and macOS 10.13.6 HS, with RME BabyFace Pro FS..
I used to make videotutorials here on YT using Pro Tools as main DAW, with ScreenFlow v6/7 but it has always many bugs and issues, I'm tired of if and I'm trying to use OBS.
I'm actually able to route Pro Tools audio signal to OBS and I've found the way to route mike signal to OBS too (it's connected to input 2 of Babyface Pro FS).
But I can't record mike signal as separate track, it still goes on the same track of Pro Tools audio.
How can I fix it and record mic signal to a separate track?
I've alredy installed Ladiocast, Blackhole and SoundFlower.
    Thank you.

No audio shows up in Ladiocast. I believe I have it routed properly. TotalMix shows sound through 1/2 AN (ableton) and 3/4 AN (ableton) and 7/8 ADAT (which I've routed 1/2 ableton through and enabled loopback). Dropbox pic for reference: www.dropbox.com/s/4n8hey5zdz66afa/Screen%20Shot%202020-05-30%20at%2011.52.15%20AM.png?dl=0. Any suggestions? I've spent days and different work arounds trying to get OBS to stream my Ableton setup. One workaround was to create an AggregateOutputDevice as Babyface+Blackhole, and then having Blackhole as the input on OBS, but when setting that as the output in Ableton, it added noticeable latency and crackling. I've read good things about "Loopback by Rogue Amoeba" but it's $100 and I'm wondering if a fix will be coming soon, through just TotalMix and OBS, no other needed software or virtual cards, since so many people are aiming to do just this, with the increase of streaming. Thanks for your insight!

you have to allow the internal microphone for some reason for ladiocast to show audio. even if you don't use it. you probably clicked disallow the very first time it opened.

@@RMEAudio That's simply not true. It works here with (1)Apogee Duet, (2) Behringer UMC1820, (3)Behringer UCA222, (4) Behringer FLOW8. The limitation with OBS: you can only use the first two Channels (1+2) and thats well known. My brand new RME Fireface UFXII is not recognized by OBS at all. That's unacceptable. This must be a driver issue with core audio. The Volume Controls on the Mac Keyboard don't work as well. Please confirm deliver an updated driver.

Can I ask, is there a way to route the Zoom incoming audio to a separate Audi channel in RME TotalMix, for instance, am using Ladiocast and Blackhole to send my audio to Zoom, and in OBS, am using iShowU to bring audio in from Zoom, would be great if I could bring that into TotalMix on a different channel to my computers generic audio channel on TotalMix, so can a) set lower levels for computer content, and then apply a different mix for my headphones so that I’m not hearing my own voice/mic. Sorry, I complicate myself by even explaining it! And yes am Mac based.

Hi there, I am trying to set this up. As far as totalmix concerns i have set everything correctly I guess cause after selecting an audio output and activating the loopback function, i can see the respective input in my Ableton on the same channels as the output with loopback activated. i.e. i have set Output 7-8 with loopback on and see input 7-8 getting the audio in my Ableton. Ladiocast on the other hand, does not see this audio coming in on channel 7-8. Whatever output I chose, Ladiocast ignores to see the incoming channel. I use Input 1 and have the Main button activated. Is there an alternative for Ladiocast or can you please help me setting this up correctly? Thanks in advance Darco
