Woke at 5.30 am here in sunny London and had two coffees and one cup of tea and now I’m back in bed as I’m too ill to do anything right now. I have a lot to do today but not sure how I’ll get it done given how anxious and frightened I am. These FBI documentaries help me to focus on something else other than my troubles so they’re very much appreciated.
These 2 guys lived a lifetimes worth of antics as short as there freedom was, they were more human than most typical bank robbers. These guys were calm cool collected no doubt would have been pleasant with the bank staff.
these were professionals i respect they intelligence like if they played it right they could have been retired to this day, made some mistakes that costed them they freedom 2 times, moral of the story? dont let greed get you
These 2 guys were really smart, I don't condone crime but I am glad they didn't murder anyone in the process, all bank employees and their families were not physically harmed.

I've gotta hand it to them, this was an incredible collaboration. It's also always interesting to see someone who is capable of these things show a human side "I have an arsenal here but I surrender, don't hurt my baby". This here was a guy who just...was bold as hell. Smart. Arrogant. Felt like he could do anything he wanted and DID IT. Of course, it catches up to you eventually.
But their sentences were absolutely out of proportion to what they did! 2 life sentences plus 139 years!!!! For bank robbery and kidnapping. They had those cops' life in their hands and all they did was handcuff them to a tree. There are people who did FAR worse, multiple murders including of children that get less time.
I wouldn't feel comfortable driving and breathe easy with 2 hard-core robbers sitting behind me. Though they were hand-cuffed, their hands could still choke you. A strong, transparent partition and camera should be installed in the vehicle for safety and security.
Thank you for your intelligent observation. Nobody had thought of this before you, as of many years ago cages with partitions were standard. There is such a thing as time, as decades pass things change. You might be unfamiliar with this as you are brain dead, but it happens
Hands down, I vote these my all-time favourite American criminals. Fairly civil, no violence, no bloodshed....just first rate brains. Hearty congratulations once again to the fantastic FBI agents for excellence in investigation.
@Jason Woods, I hear you. I was just speaking in relative terms. When an armed robber has the power to harm you, but actively chooses to treat you nicely, you count yourself very lucky. I watch all these FBI Files and the level of violence, even where there was absolutely no need for it, makes me loose faith in humanity. 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Big brains?! They left their getaway car parked, the entire robbery time, in plain view of each employee walking into the bank {1982} and nobody saw it? {very lucky robbers, with that big flashy car}} hope is a mistake of the director of this TV series......? LOL!
You gotta give it to the Americans for their sense of humour: "two life sentences, plus 139 years... without the possibility of parole"! ,😀😀 Or maybe, just for just, the court could have given them eligibility for parole after 100 years....😀😀😀
At 34:04 the FBI calls Joe Dougherty. FBI: "This is the FBI, we have the house surrounded." Thug: hangs up the phone and thinks, "Maybe it was a wrong number."......hah hah hah ha
The police were real smart transporting 2 Dangerous criminals with no additional escourts or even partition between the front n back seat. Where I'm from there will be minimum 3 cars convoys, leading the car with the convect n the rear gaurd. And the car with the convict will have a bullet proof partition between the front n rear seat.
Back in 1982 police cars had no partition between front and back. And there was no way they would’ve used three cars back then. You need to stay in school and learn about history, or watch old movies or tv shows: and no, “That 80s show” is not an old tv series. Next thing you’re going to say is “why didn’t they use their cell phones to call for help?”
Apparently they threw the baby out with the bath water. OK. Humor is important. You would have thought that when Dockerty got up to a million he would call it quits. I thought for sure they were going to kill those two cops. How in the world did they free themselves in 15 minutes.
This the way to do it. The partnership for ever terminated is the right word for federal feguties . They both deserve this kind of punishment. Does it worth it? People who does the crime naturally do not think about their independent in their like I think.

When transporting two dangerous criminals to court, use a secure van with individual compartments and not a car.
Indeed, that was amateur hour to say the least....
That was how things were done in the 1980s. LOL
I would NOT want 2 professional bank robbing partners sitting behind me in car. Once arrested, they should never see eachother
