Reinforcing the vaneer of total control over the actions of a populace/ reinforcing the appearance of maintaining total control of right and wrong actions of a populace is worth any figure for a governing force.
40:25 Had the Secret Service tried to return the driver's licenses they would have found out that those women were MISSING! Hello, mister FBI man, these women are missing! The ball is in your court.
And the ironic thing is, crime rates are still at the same levels, despite people giving up all their reckless actions. No hitchhiking, no wandering off to dark places in the night, no trusting strangers, etc.
22:24 shows the investigative quality of the Secret Service. They can search random Malls, Airports, and Shops nationwide but can't take the time to eliminate the people they've arrested in the past for the same offence firstly. A proven absolute fact is criminals repeat their crimes so it's imperative to investigate them first. The Court's have ruled it is no violation of Civil Rights for known perpetrators to be investigated without proof of involvement. Their past behavior makes them a reasonable target.
Thanks for reinforcing my view on the bureaucracy and the incompetence of public officials -obviously aint much to do at the SIS if they can afford to throw this much resource and incompetence at one individual
@8:56 "the clerk described it as a white Ford but was unable to read the license plate..." And the guy drives off in a white Chevy Impala!😆 What a sick, pervert puppy!
A lot of people who like true crime haven't heard about this guy probably bc no one wants to talk about the sexual sadists which I get, bc their crimes are so horrible but if you don't think there are guys like this out there doing crap like this right now, you're mistaken. It should be talked about more bc it's right under our noses.
Damn! The day this was released and watched without the 2nd part, i guarantee people were like DAMN TO BE CONTINUED. Great work Secret Service on catching this guy😉
I guess when the police are making about 35,000 a year average and they see all these people making big money ( and usually getting off because they have money) after awhile it must be difficult to be motivated.
You should probably watch the video before you spread false info. He wasn’t a pilot, he was a full time counterfeiter and serial rapist. The pilot theory didn’t pan out.
I used to watch forensic files and that stuff used to scare me in the middle of the night if I forgot to turn the channel but I was young it doesn't effect me anymore just sharing my experience😅
Best way to defeat today's counterfeit bills is to scan them with a device that reads the magnetically encoded security thread in the bill and compares it to the serial number. Really hard to duplicate.
The "Mall Passer" case on Real Crime's FBI Files Movie of the Week is a fascinating look into the world of counterfeiting and dark crimes. The intricate details of the investigation and the suspect's elusive tactics keep you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait for part two next week!
So the secret service spent millions on trying to stop a guy who was spending forged $20s , probably around $10,000 or less, brilliant guys, good use of public funds
If your one of the victims no amount of money is enough. How much would you have them spend to find you or one of your family or would you say just stop when you hit $10,000 ?
The agencies need to catch up BBC with the forensic tools available ! They need to start collecting dna samples when families declare someone missing … hair samples from b a hair brush , finger prints from a drivers license , etc
The funniest part is hearing “The counterfeit bills have defrauded the US Government THOUSANDS of dollars” like the people of the US haven’t been frauded BILLIONS of dollars. God-forbid they loss a couple thousands 😂
They were providing context around those counterfeit $20 bills specifically... it's not the dollar amount but the effort required. Keep in mind that this was _one guy_ making small $20 transactions, so it's a pretty big deal for thousands of dollars of fake bills to get into circulation that way. Most counterfeiters make their money selling batches of their fakes to other criminals to use & distribute... so for this guy to make _fifty_ individual purchases at different shops all around the country _per $1k of counterfeits_ is a noteworthy situation!
So many resources to find a single man printing his own money. If this guy was just a counterfeiter and hadn't committed other crimes, this would be such a waste of government money tracking this guy.
They spent more money looking and prosecuting him than he made. Not to mention printing money to send to other countries and the military industrial complex.

the print quaiity of US banknotes is terrible compared to other countries. Hilarious how americans think they're the pinnacle of anti counterfeiting tech with their little threads and cheap colour shifting ink
