I am fond of history and particularly in the history of Rome and I share videos about it. Rome (2005) was one the best tv show and also some kind of documentary. I claim no rights of the videos I share

James Purefoy owned this series. Him, Polly Walker and Ray Stevenson really turned this show from excellent to legendary
He's a great actor, *Solomon Kane* is one of my favorite movies.
As odd as it sounds, this seems like one of the better ways to die, if not by a calm natural death. To entrust a close friend, to do the job, do it cleanly, and hold you as you fall. There’s an odd solidarity in it.
Just finished this show, as deplorable as mark antony was the actor gave him such depth that I still felt for him. That wail is haunting

I like how the series stuck close to actual history.
Maybe not in this scene, though. According to Plutarch, Antony ordered his slave Eros to kill him, but Eros killed himself instead. Antony stabbed himself through the stomach, but remained alive and in agony for a while. He was brought before Cleopatra, and very shortly afterwards succumbed to his wound. But we should probably take Plutarch with a grain of salt!

@@AyeBeAPirate A lot of the creative liberties in the show too are in regards to Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus. The real Pullo and Vorenus were Centurions with a rivalry to one another. When the Belgae attacked their Legion's winter fort, to outshow Vorinus, Pullo charged at the enemy by himself and threw his Javelin into a Belgian. Pullo's belt was then pierced by a spear and he was unable to draw his sword. Vorenus, who had followed Pullo outside of the fort, Killed the Belgian who engaged with Pullo and saved Pullo's life. Vorenus then lost his footing, and Pullo was able to draw his sword and save Vorenus' life. They are said to have fought off several Belgians on their own before they pulled back into their fort, where the men were cheering. Vorenus disappears from history after this, but Pullo is mentioned a few times during Caesar's Civil War fighting for Pompey.
The show takes those two Centurions and places them in important historical events. So it's necessarily going to have some ahistoric elements. But it allows the creators to portray a dramatic story from a perspective we don't often see.
The entire series was a masterclass in acting!⚔🔥🙌

One thing I would have added is to make Vorenus' sword an heirloom with Antony asking how long the sword had been carried and having it mention that Vorernus' father marched with Sulla.
Men are all slaves to our inner ambitions, even when they turn against us. Always best to fall among others who know our strengths and weaknesses. The Great, tragic few that live along the edge. Why the edge? Because it's where all the most interesting things happen in a life. At least any life worth remembering. Here we are still remembering names like Cleopatra, Mark Antony, Julius Caesar, Brutus and Cicero thousands of years after their deaths.

It's a snake. It's foreshadowing Cleopatra's suicide by asp biting her breast.
It is the symbol of defying Roman standards. Romans did not accept tattoos considering them barbarian.
@@trueromancat7978 In later times they marked even their soldiers with tatoo but it also had another bad association for them(apart from that barbarian)-it was normal for slaves to be tatooed as a mark of personal property.No doubtly even if much later even soldiers were tatooed it was still seen as negative thing though.
