    I am following your videos, and they are from 2015, and it is how you say, is to practice over and over and repeat again, the movements do not come out correctly first, you are a great teacher and it can be seen that you care about explaining and so that people understand, thank you very much, greetings from Argentina.

      Hello Thomas, My own opinion i think each form have their propose for it and this form is for basic stances and combination training. so training this form you may just concentrate the correct movement.

    Do all kung fu (wushu,shaoline...) teachers have trained in Shaoline temple?

    • @catfood_03_4stray
      @catfood_03_4stray 5 років тому

      Kung Fu is one thing. Shaolin Kung Fu is another! There are dozens of Kung Fu styles in China. Shaolin Kung Fu related to the Shaolin Temple ( Convent ) is the most renown one. The answer is definitely no. Dozens of thousants of children are learning Shaolin Kung Fu in many Shaolin cultural centres throughout China. Of course the best of them become teachers without being previously monks.

And the palm with fingers spread? What is the application of that? maybe you have a video about hands form?

    Master Yan, I have a question, Im 37 years old, I have black belt in Shotokan, but stopped training since long time, Always been a fan of kung fu, since a week I started again doing some stretching and warmup, my problem is that I cant go low in Ma bu stance, I do Kiba Datchi very well but as you know Ma bu is lower than Kiba datchi, do you think its a flexibility problem and can be solved with training, or im too old for that?

    • @KUNGFULIFE-shifuyanxin
      @KUNGFULIFE-shifuyanxin  8 років тому +3

      Ma bu seems easy from the outside, but in my opinion it's one of the most difficult foundation movement in kung fu, 37 is definitely not too old for training mabu, your body is not used to the low stance, of course, better flexibility will help toward achieving a lower stance, the key is to train gradually and persistently. It's better to aim to do the stance as well as you can for shorter periods of time and build on that time gradually (even holding 1 second longer every time will help) and persistently, rather then doing the stance for longer periods but at a poor quality. I hope this helps.

      I'm in a similar boat. I will, hopefully, turn 65 next month and have started stance training again.
      I started kung-fu train at 14 in 1968. At that time my fellow Americans were just being introduced to Karate, Judo, Jujutsu and Tae - Kwon -do.
      My training was sporadic for a time until I was almost 22 and 8 months left in the Navy. Then I found an excellent Sifu and several more since then.
      I trained for several decades until my major heart attack nearly 12 years ago. Recently, with an adjustment to my meds, I feel like training again, and thanks to these videos, I have a good place to start. Or should I say resume?
