  • In a pinch or if you just want to save some money, can use saran wrap as a pretty good protective cover. Longevity is still unknown but so far so good. I did try several products and some with a DA to polish off the haziness from official protective covers but had no luck. Tried saran wrap just for kicks and it worked great. Its not pretty, but near perfect visibility.
UPDATE: The saran wrap held up well while blasting a few parts but it started to show signs of wear relatively quickly compared to a thicker cover intended to protect the glass.

Not a bad idea! Wouldnt matter if you had to replace it every day, cost wise.

What abrasive do you recommend over all? Multi use.

I'm no expert. But I used 80 grit glass bead initially. Was pretty happy with it. About 30lbs was enough to feed my cabinet. Am using 70 grit aluminum oxide now and honestly don't notice a difference. Takes about a 50lb bucket for the cabinet. I like the white aspect of the bead because big flakes of paint that might clog the gun are more noticeable. Got both at harbour freight.
