Boy wish I would have watched this before we had our TPO roof put on our bldg. Also wish our roofer had the wisdom to realize the water needed to be directed. Anyhow very grateful for your videos and you have such a great personality that we learn and are entertained at the same time!! Keep it up!!
Hey man. Love your videos. My dad was a roofer for 30 years in Local 30. It’s awesome seeing how much passion you have for your craft and that you do the job right. Keep working hard man!
Thank you for going more in depth on this one. Is the chemical drum on the roof cleaner for the seams? And once the tpo is near the drip edge is it screwed with fasteners?
Firestone/elevate inspector informed me recently that creasing the break is a no go anymore because 5-10 years down the road it causes the TPO to crack. Have you heard that also? Roof looks A-1 though awesome job!
I really appreciate that I haven’t heard of that. That’s really good to know. It’s funny because GAF has videos on them pre-creasing all their TPo I really wanna look into that thanks for the heads up
@@AllRoof. I thought the same thing when he told me that. Ive always been taught to work the break in by either folding/creasing it or with the Lister and my detail roller, so I dont know. It might also be dependent upon the climate you’re in I’d assume. Let me know what you find out also. Thanks for the response! Keep up the amazing work brother!
Starting as a flat roof laborer on Monday, super excited! Thanks for the video it makes the whole process easier to understand going into work. :P Any tips on tools, tricks, advice on moving up?
Take constructive criticism, don’t complain, be reliable and consistent, ask questions, take initiative (don’t always wait around to be told what to do) and learn techniques and processes so that you can run a crew or one day own your own company. Be in charge of your own education and what you’re learning. That will translate into a strong skillset = moving up.
Oh my gosh, dealing with this right now. We opened up a small area and our TJIs are wood pulp....ugh!!! I wish you were where I lived! Was this roof covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, the roof is spray foamed from the bottom, so there is no real way forward to breathe so we just keep the water from coming in and that’s all we can really do building codes here in CT are kind of sad
You would never use treated plywood in living space because if the building ever can’t fire, the smoke inhalation would kill everyone. It is against the law to use pressure treated anything inside of a building unless it is a bottom plate of a wall touching concrete. Hope this helps.
@@notimportant3686 the town and state disagree with you. I do not. They see it as against the law and code to put it in, therefore we exclude using pressure treated wood.
This house looks like it was built not that long ago. They even have the zip system. Where did it go wrong. It looks bad enough to were they should have been covered by some type of warranty. I hope the company that did that work covered your bill.
That irritating music you have playing made this video unwatchable for me. It seems every video that has sped up scenes plays the most obnoxious music over it.
I totally agree. I’ve made some changes since then, to make better videos for the people who want to see them honestly honestly, I think my voice is kind of annoying too, and I would probably just mute that too. Maybe check out my shorts. I put very little music in them. That might be a little bit better.
@@AllRoof.Dude, don't let someone tell you how to choose your music. Not all criticism should be taken seriously. And your voice is fine, how on earth are you going to come across and personalize your videos? These videos are great.
The content is great, but work on the audio in your videos ;) I have to keep lowering and raising the volume throughout the video inbetween you talking and that (imho) horrendous music. That being said, I'd tolerate the music, the difference in audio level is the issue.
Im a commercial roofer from Minnesota and i find your videos very interesting. I wish your channel much success

If it’s your first day- wear a pair of boots. Show up 15 min early and always work your full time. Don’t leave early.
It's a great crazy job ❤

@@AllRoof. you consider the roof "inside" of the dwelling?.... also if the fire makes it up to the outer layer of the roof, everyone is already dead

You don’t put no perimeter strip down before you flash the walls
RUF strip? Yeah I normally don’t install it. Do you think I should start?
Dude my mom’s roof needs yall help it’s like this !! It’s just collapsed I need yall help
What town and state?

Unfortunately, I think the company that installed it was no longer around or didn’t want to take responsibility for it
You didn’t secure the base TPO with plates and screws to prevent pull out. Just fully adhering doesn’t accomplish this.
Mechanically fastened it with seam plates, but I didn’t have time to show it all this episode
Whoever did that roof, just caused a whole lot of money on repairs…😱

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I post a short every single day now that’s less than a minute along with no music
Why don't you wear gloves, masks and protective eye gear when demoing this yucky stuff? And tarps to cover the inside of the house?
